[20:15]<veltas> Quantos: Okay
[20:15]<veltas> Do you know about connected sleep
[20:16]<veltas> The mind boggles at the concept
[20:17]<veltas> Basically now when you shut your laptop lid, if your laptop is new enough, the fans keep spinning and the computer does not get to S3 state
[20:17]<veltas> This is a 'feature'
[20:18]<veltas> The reasoning is that you can 1. stay connected to internet, 2. it makes the laptop act more like a phone and 3. ????speed????
[20:18]<veltas> Something about speed is thrown in even though as far as I can tell it's not noticeably faster than a normal S3 sleep resume
[20:19]<veltas> But the caveat is you will break your laptop if you put it away after shutting the lid
[20:19]<veltas> Unlike a phone, where pressing the power buttong and locking the screen does not put your phone in a state where it is not mobile, because that would be pointless
[20:20]<veltas> The fans keep running, if you put your laptop in a bag it will run the fans until the laptop melts
[20:21]<veltas> And Windows 10 claims this is a feature that fundamentally changes the computer and OS, and can't be disabled (but there is a registry setting that disables it)
[20:21]<veltas> Waiting for the day when an update disables that option, I have opted for replacing all Sleep button functionality for Hibernate which still works and is only slightly slower than a normal sleep on this SSD beast
[20:52]<Quantos> Bloody bad joke eh?
