[09:25]<+camerongray> BC_Programming: Bloody hell!
[09:26]<+camerongray> "You won't find any of this in the media for obvious reasons." - Yes, because you made it up, does he really think people are that gullable to believe him
[09:26]<@BC_Programming> yeah that's what I had to edit... I originally said "those 'obvious reasons' being that you just made it up"
[09:26]<+camerongray> Since when has Microsoft ever tried to sue an individual for something as minor as vollating the EULA in that way?
[09:27]<@BC_Programming> I think he must be thinking of how certain parts of shrink-wrapped EULA's were ruled invalid in some places, but there certainly has never been such a "suit" filed and won against Microsoft for upgrade versions of the OS
[09:30]<@BC_Programming> closest I could find was a class-action regarding "Windows Vista Capable" branding
[09:30]<+camerongray> Also note how he says "PM Salmon..." - That'll be for helping him break the EULA
[09:30]<@BC_Programming> I highly doubt Salmon would need help to do that
[09:31]<+camerongray> Notice Patio's PM to Dave in his screenshot in that papanas thread: http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=150865.0;attach=24110;image
[09:31]<@BC_Programming> I thought that was funny
[09:31]<+camerongray> yeah
[09:32]<+camerongray> Also, apparently you are to "Relax" :P
[09:32]<+camerongray> (Patio's latest update)
[09:32]<@BC_Programming> hmm I'm not seeing any unread posts
[09:32]<+camerongray> Also notice how he genuinely thinks "click" is spelled "clik"
[09:32]<+camerongray> Ahh, maybe it was an old one I just hadn't read
[09:33]<@BC_Programming> probably, I likely saw it- which thread?
[09:34]<@BC_Programming> ahh found it
[09:40]<+camerongray> But yeah, he's going to be circlejerking over how he still uses 7 and how it's the best for ages
[09:41]<+camerongray> Hell, he still "shows off" that he still has a Windows 2000 machine in regular use
[09:42]<@BC_Programming> He's not a whole lot better than db was (or is?) really
[09:43]<+camerongray> Well, at least Patio can form coherent sentences
[09:43]<+camerongray> DB now literally spews nonsense
[09:44]<+camerongray> Patio at least knows some stuff and understands basic diagnostics
[09:45] * Nat (nathan@mib-9777B5D6.lightspeed.irvnca.sbcglobal.net) has joined #glitchpc
[09:45]<+camerongray> DB's only knowledge seems to be from listening to other people and getting it wrong
[09:45]<+camerongray> For example, he believes safe mode is a solution for a non-POSTing system
[09:48] * Nat (nathan@mib-9777B5D6.lightspeed.irvnca.sbcglobal.net) Quit (Ping timeout: 180 seconds)
[09:50]<+camerongray> BC_Programming: Some nice reading from you: https://gist.github.com/camerongray1515/80f47f97fbf0eeec2b44
[09:50]<+camerongray> for you*
[09:51]<+camerongray> I do quite like how "its icons have been revamped" was DB's key point about 10
[09:52]<@BC_Programming> That was the first thing Tux2 said lol "they look like Windows 3.1"
[09:52]<+camerongray> haha
[09:52]<+camerongray> That chat log is making me cringe so much
[09:53]<+camerongray> "<rockets1201> Microsoft messed up after making all layout changes after XP and Office 2003 (Just my opinion)"
[09:53]<+camerongray> OMG they changed it from what I've used for 10 years, I'm scared, I can't work it anymore
[09:53]<+camerongray> I don't get how people can get so stuck when something changes
[09:54]<+camerongray> I recently replaced my 80 year old granny's Dimension 2400 running XP wth a new Windows 7 machine - She sat down and started working on it straight away, barely even noticed the difference
[09:54]<+camerongray> Literally all I had to do was show her how to shut it down since that was slightly different from XP
[09:56]<+camerongray> I can't stand most "IT Techs" :P
[09:56]<@BC_Programming> Except Craig of course
[09:56]<@BC_Programming> (Unless he's talking about tuneup utilities that is) :P
[09:57]<+camerongray> Oh yeah, ones who actually know what they are doing are fine
[09:57]<@BC_Programming> my theory is that a good portion of people using computers who have entered the IT field grew up and first used computers with Windows ME, but it was Windows XP- and the coincident Office version- that they actually "learned" computers on. This is the cause of two things- first, why ME is so poorly regarded, which is because the people talking about it being awful are relating to their memories
[09:57]<@BC_Programming> from when they were 6 and used the 400 dollar value system their Dad bought which was filled with crapware and poorly maintained with a 6-year-old using the internet on it to boot- and also why XP seems to be such a favourite, which is because it's basically all a lot of them knew
[09:57]<+camerongray> But so many seem to just get so high and mightly about how they know everything because they can upgrade your RAM
[09:58]<+camerongray> Then you get the ones who clearly read a book or did a course and threfore go down the route of "You must follow the procedure or you will die"
[09:58]<@BC_Programming> "You didn't use a ESD Mat? Kill yourself before you die horribly"
[09:58]<+camerongray> exactly!
[09:59]<+camerongray> I moved my bedroom HTPC into a new case last night, did it on the bed, fight me
[09:59]<+camerongray> Even layed the parts on the bed, nothing blew up
[09:59]<@BC_Programming> I've never had ESD problems come to think of it, though it's typically quite humid here as well, ESD is more problematic in dry places as I understand
[10:00]<+camerongray> Yeah, probably is, I've never had it
[10:00]<@BC_Programming> most of my stuff get's ruined physically because I just tossed all my USA and old expansion cards into a box
[10:02]<+camerongray> haha
[10:02]<+camerongray> He's just stuck in his ways
[10:02]<+camerongray> Sad thing is he's one of the best people in the chat
