[16:52]<RealMulreay> That was timing
[16:53]<@BC_Programming> ha only a minute off
[17:02]<RealMulreay> How goes it bud?
[17:02]<@BC_Programming> Can't complain, how's Malta then?
[17:02]<RealMulreay> It's VERY warm
[17:03]<@BC_Programming> That would drive me nuts
[17:03]<RealMulreay> But there is a sea with cute little fishes in it that I like
[17:03]<@BC_Programming> That and not being able to have my daily supplement of Moose testicle stew
[17:04]<RealMulreay> See I pushed for that in UK cafes but they were having nothing of it... I doubt they will here either
[17:05]<@BC_Programming> I got another 16GB of RAM, should arrive today
[17:05]<@BC_Programming> 32GB WTF is wrong with me
[17:06]<Veltas> All the better for bukkit servers
[17:06]<@BC_Programming> Bukkit is gone for the foreseeable future
[17:06]<@BC_Programming> I don't run Minecraft servers anywho
[17:07]<Veltas> Bukkit is gone? Do they have a server mod API now or something?
[17:07]<RealMulreay> That's awesome.. my PC is on a container somwhere in the mediterranean so my 16gb could be eaten by fishes anytime
[17:07]<@BC_Programming> Bukkit is gone because they were DMCA'd by one of the developers and All craftbukkit and spigot downloads were forcibly removed by the webhost
[17:07]<Veltas> There is probably some insurance against that mulreay
[17:08]<@BC_Programming> I'm sure people said that about the spanish doubloons
[17:08]<@BC_Programming> "We have our finest pirates at the helm"
[17:08]<RealMulreay> lol
[17:08]<@BC_Programming> "Don't worry, he's piloting with his good eye"
[17:09]<RealMulreay> But he's colour blind so as long as he doesn't see grass vs sand he will be fine
[17:09]<@BC_Programming> Unless he sees a sea cow and thinks it's a bueatiful woman
[17:10]<@BC_Programming> I do love that sailors managed to mistake such a ugly creature in such a way
[17:10]<RealMulreay> Oh hey Veltas not sure who you are but hello
[17:11]<RealMulreay> I've been coming here for weeks and it seems cool
[17:11]<Veltas> I am a stranger to this channel as well, really. I've talked like 5 times and BC has tolerated me so far.
[17:12]<Veltas> Seemingly
[17:12]<Veltas> This was prompted by bumping into camerong in some other channel by some amazing coincidence
[17:12]<RealMulreay> BC_Programming have you been nice to people? What the hell is wrong with you?
[17:13]<@BC_Programming> Do you want a list
[17:13]<RealMulreay> lol
[17:14]<RealMulreay> Joking apart Veltas I've been here for a while.. like 6yrs or something stupid.. I have animals that I have know less than these guys.
[17:15]<Veltas> I see
[17:15]<@BC_Programming> Or you could be an imposter taking advantage of Mulreay's absence to claim the whole "my scripts are on a boat" excuse
[17:15]<RealMulreay> camerongray is a very nice guy that will help you out when he can
[17:15]<@BC_Programming> we're onto you
[17:15]<RealMulreay> I swear it may be me.. but it may not
[17:15]<@BC_Programming> I bet your a spanish electrician, yes I know all your secrets
[17:15]<RealMulreay> lol
[17:16]<@BC_Programming> you're* curses
[17:16]<Veltas> Spanish pirate electrician
[17:16]<RealMulreay> When my PC turns up i will be deeply upset with your lack of belief BC_Programming...
[17:18]<RealMulreay> I've tried like 5 passwords on nickserv but I seem to be quite good at making random passwords that only my computer can remember
[17:19]<Veltas> I bet I can remember your passwords, just tell me what they are.
[17:19]<Veltas> (jk)
[17:20]<Veltas> Not that you know what they are because you can't remember them
[17:20]<RealMulreay> Where are you from Veltas?
[17:20]<Veltas> UK
[17:21]<RealMulreay> Where abouts?
[17:21]<RealMulreay> I'm from manchester
[17:21]<Veltas> Young in London, older in Kent, currently at uni in West Midlands
[17:21]<Veltas> Near Coventry
[17:22]<Veltas> Well on the outskirts of coventry, basically
[17:22]<RealMulreay> Nice, always nice to see a fellow brit
[17:23]<Veltas> Yeah, and on Friday morning I may well not have been a fellow brit
[17:23]<RealMulreay> Full of canadians and americans in here.. fecking scum
[17:23]<Veltas> Might have been a dirty foreigner
[17:23]<Veltas> To camerongray
[17:23]<Veltas> IIRC he's in scotland land
[17:24]<RealMulreay> I believe camerongray was part of the no campaign
[17:24]<Veltas> I would have guessed
[17:24]<Veltas> Because 55% voted no
[17:24]<Veltas> Also cameron is smart
[17:25]<RealMulreay> It was rediculous only idiots would cause so much damage
[17:25]<Veltas> Now wait for that same damage to be threatened with UKIP, and possibly with Wales and N.I
[17:27]<RealMulreay> No the problem now is that the UK has devision, do you honestly think the Scotts can walk away from this unharmed? No.. the rest of the UK are pissed off and they will feel it.
[17:30]<Veltas> I don't know, I think most non-scots don't really care much either way, as long as Scotland doesn't start taking an even larger proportion of british tax revenue
[17:31]<Veltas> I think the devolution would probably work, the question of federalising the UK has come up and I don't think that's such a bad idea.
[17:32]<Veltas> Westminster has too much power, and definitely doesn't represent most people very well. Least of all in Scotland. But that doesn't mean they have to be an independant state.
[17:32]<RealMulreay> It's not about tax revenue it's about a 5 million population having a say in a 70 million population of england. If they want more powers fine but then you lose all your powers of making laws in England.
[17:33]<Veltas> Yeah that's why I think federalising the UK is a good idea, because it could be done without giving too much power to smaller parts of the country, but would still let them represent themselves better
[17:33]<Veltas> s/country/state
[17:33]<Veltas> Gets hard when our definition for country and state is basically the opposite of the US.
[17:34]<Veltas> Not used to talking about the UK as anything other than 'a country'
[17:35]<RealMulreay> We are different, we have a union not a group of states forced into dealing with your neighbour.
[17:37]<RealMulreay> To the outside world it does look different but as brits we know how it is
[17:37]<@BC_Programming> We have Quebec referendums
[17:37]<RealMulreay> lol
[17:37]<@BC_Programming> it's like a bi-centennial thing
[17:38]<Veltas> Nice
[17:38]<Veltas> Is that in Canada?
[17:38]<RealMulreay> yes
[17:38]<@BC_Programming> No, Mars
[17:38]<Veltas> Yeah sorry my geography isn't great
[17:38]<RealMulreay> He's from British=columbia
[17:38]<Veltas> Which is in Canada?
[17:38]<RealMulreay> yes
[17:38]<Veltas> I think I deserve a star
[17:39]<RealMulreay> No may be a slap on the wrist for not knowing if it was Canada
[17:39]<@BC_Programming> British Columbia, Alberta, Saskachewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territory, and Nunavit or whatever it's called
[17:40]<@BC_Programming> Quebec is all like "we're french" and the rest of us go "please stop reminding us"
[17:40]<RealMulreay> haha
[17:41]<RealMulreay> You french bastards
[17:41]<RealMulreay> We love the french in the UK
[17:42]<RealMulreay> I suppose its easy to like a country when you keep kicking there asses in wars
[17:43]<Veltas> I have to say the general impression I've had is that people in the UK don't love the French
[17:43]<@BC_Programming> America stole their red and blue so they are just left with a white flag
[17:43]<Veltas> Might be different in the south of England, closer to France
[17:44]<RealMulreay> lol BC_Programming
[17:46]<RealMulreay> The UK was dealt a huge blow when the French couldn't hold there own and the Italians chose the wrong side. But the UK stood firm and the French will always be known as the guys that love a white flag..
[17:48]<RealMulreay> Hey Germany don't feck with the empire beeyaches
[17:50]<RealMulreay> Next thing you know BC_Programming won't want the queens head on his money.. we may fall out after that
[17:51]<@BC_Programming> Joy to the world
[17:51]<@BC_Programming> the queen has come
[17:51]<@BC_Programming> the king, has used, his tongue
[17:51]<@BC_Programming> oh
[17:51]<@BC_Programming> oops
[17:51]<Veltas> lol
[17:52]<Veltas> RealMulreay: France did the right thing by surrendering, if we managed to hold off Germans on British soil for two weeks we would have surrendered by then as well.
[17:52]<RealMulreay> Take that back right now!! Surrendered?
[17:53]<Veltas> Unless we had managed a way of tackling Blitzkrieg
[17:53]<@BC_Programming> Hitler could have walked into buckingham palace and the Queen would have been like "I fart in your general direction"
[17:53]<Veltas> We would have surrendered
[17:53]<@BC_Programming> not before farting in their general direction
[17:53]<@BC_Programming> But the french ran out of gas before they could do that
[17:54]<Veltas> The Battle of Britain is named so because if we had lost that battle in the sky, germany would have been able to invade on land and that would have been game over for the British Isles.
[17:55]<RealMulreay> Veltas you have it all wrong.. the British NEVER give up and i feel strange thinking that a fellow UK man feels that way.
[17:55]<Veltas> Surrendering the Isles isn't giving up
[17:55]<Veltas> We had a plan for taking the military and carrying on the fight in our empire
[17:55]<RealMulreay> And BC_Programming I was laughing so hard at the monty ref
[17:56]<Veltas> But we really did need to keep the isles, our morale pretty much depended on it, and the Battle of Britain was the first proper win against the germans in WW2
[17:58]<RealMulreay> Britain was an empire, we have a way of looking at things and when it comes to war there is nobody better. Churchill had a plan the government had a plan.. it was never going to work. The Royal air force made sure of that
[18:00]<RealMulreay> Yes the Americans turned up and they will tell you how they won the war but only because they through numbers at the front line
[18:00]<Veltas> At this point it's all just fun speculation. My idea is that if we had lost the battle of Britain, the soviets would have won the cold war.
[18:01]<RealMulreay> What the hell has the cold war to do with ww2?
[18:01]<Veltas> I reckon Germany would have still lost WW2, they had their eyes on Russia all the way through and war with the soviets was inevitable. We would have allied with the soviets either way, and our combined forces would have won
[18:02]<Veltas> The soviets would have ended up with a much larger share of spoils, for being the vast majority of the front line
[18:02]<RealMulreay> The cold war is just two people flexing muscles but nobody is stupid enough to throw the first punch
[18:02]<Veltas> "What the hell has the cold war to do with ww2?" Don't say that to a historian :P
[18:03]<@BC_Programming> very little, aside from being adjacent in chronology and therefore connected tenously in the same way any subsequent event will be
[18:03]<@BC_Programming> But by that logic you could say the French Revolution is related to the invention of doilies
[18:04]<@BC_Programming> well that is a bad example because maybe it is
[18:04]<RealMulreay> I will say it to any historian anywhere
[18:05]<@BC_Programming> doilies caused the invention of the atom bomb
[18:05]<@BC_Programming> the invention of the wheel is directly responsible for the fall of Rome
[18:06]<Veltas> The soviets never would have had nearly as much influence in eastern europe without ww2 taking place, and that is what started the cold war: the threat of soviet ideals spreading through eastern europe
[18:06]<RealMulreay> I hate them fecking doilies
[18:06]<@BC_Programming> the Fall of rome subsequently can be blamed for the existence of MTV
[18:06]<Veltas> I think the two are more related than has been made out by these amusing analogies
[18:07]<Veltas> The world wars killed the British Empire, although I think British Empire would have died either way.
[18:08]<RealMulreay> The cold war was created by a power struggle. The US vs the USSR and nothing else. You read way to much into it. next you will tell me that they didn't land on the moon.
[18:09]<@BC_Programming> well yeah, that was around the time the world power changed from Britain to the U.S. And I'm sure it had nothing to do with the whole "it's not our war until we can win it easily" strategy
[18:09]<Veltas> Power struggle and fear: don't forget the atom bomb was a product of the second world war Mulreay. Would have been a hot war. ;)
[18:10]<RealMulreay> When did I say it wasn't?
[18:10]<Veltas> When did I say you said it wasn't?
[18:10]<RealMulreay> It was NOT a product of world war 2
[18:11]<@BC_Programming> The idea that X was created as the result of the political climate during Y event, therefore anything that Y caused was caused by X is a logical fallacy
[18:11]<RealMulreay> It was a cold war as the super powers wanted to stretch there muscles after britain had lost its place
[18:11]<@BC_Programming> If I give a man a gun and he uses the gun to kill a politician, I won't be regarded as the hero
[18:12]<@BC_Programming> Or will I.... this may demand an experiment
[18:13]<Veltas> What if you invent guns by doing so? And otherwise it would have been impossible to kill them?
[18:13]<Veltas> And the other person was a better aim than you
[18:14]<RealMulreay> Guns don't kill yayayaya people humans do
[18:14]<@BC_Programming> And what if I dropped a whale on a tiger shark and the tiger shark was about the give birth to a man with cancer... but here's the catch, that man with cancer would go on to be a world-class chiropractor
[18:14]<@BC_Programming> he's also visit his mother at the marina for years
[18:14]<Veltas> I think the scientists who created the bombs that dropped on Japan were considered as heros by some people, as they saved a lot of Allied lives.
[18:15]<@BC_Programming> My point was what you just did was moving the goalposts, almost literally
[18:15]<RealMulreay> They are lives in retrospect so they were not saved at all
[18:15]<Veltas> BC_Programming: Yes probably
[18:16]<RealMulreay> One of those people could have been Osama bin Feckfaces grandad
[18:17]<RealMulreay> Everything in retrospect is wonderful
[18:17]<@BC_Programming> except pigeons, they always suck
[18:17]<Veltas> Fuckin flying rats
[18:17]<Veltas> Whoops sorry channel
[18:18]<@BC_Programming> no that's a different thing entirely
[18:18]<@BC_Programming> that's an art form
[18:18]<@BC_Programming> trapeze trained rats performing aerial intercourse is a well known form of entertainment
[18:18]<Veltas> Or just chucking rats as well could be entertaining, in a sick way
[18:18]<@BC_Programming> No they must be trapeze trained dammit
[18:19]<RealMulreay> You do realise BC_Programming that noobs may not 'get you'.
[18:19]<Veltas> I am right here
[18:19] * Veltas hides in corner
[18:19]<@BC_Programming> we were talking about somebody else
[18:19]<RealMulreay> BC_Programming is a story teller, he likes to create stories and you may find it strange but he has a talent
[18:20]<RealMulreay> !seen jacky
[18:21]<@BC_Programming> ah ha hiding behind chanbot
[18:21]<RealMulreay> yep
[18:21]<@BC_Programming> I bet that is what he does
[18:21]<@BC_Programming> watches to see if anybody says anything about em
[18:21]<Veltas> Aren't the logs for this channel public?
[18:22]<Veltas> published*
[18:22]<RealMulreay> Yeah BC_Programming logs them
[18:22]<@BC_Programming> not real-time
[18:23]<RealMulreay> Thats when I know there talking about me
[18:23]<RealMulreay> I don't do that
[18:23]<RealMulreay> honest
[18:23]<@BC_Programming> heh
[18:24]<RealMulreay> But seriously I don't even know the URL
[18:31]<RealMulreay> BC_Programming are you playing games? I need to go to bed soon but catch me on Steam and skype etc
[18:31]<@BC_Programming> have to work for the moment
[18:32]<@BC_Programming> invoicing yay </sarcasm>
[18:33]<RealMulreay> OK cool catch you soon will message you through skype, Steam, facebook and the otherstuff
[18:33] * RealMulreay (mulreay@FAD7FAA2.41C3502F.9979E176.IP) Quit (Quit: For when the one great scorer comes to write against my name, it's not that I won or lost but how I played the game.)
[19:27] * BC_Programming (BC_Program@mib-B299933B.bchsia.telus.net) Quit (Quit: The things I hope, the failing dream, has finally got the best of me.)
