[08:01]<+camerongray> BC_Programming: haha - yep!
[08:02]<@BC_Programming> Perhaps ironically the best one seems to be VirtualDub
[08:02]<@BC_Programming> "best" meaning I can actually change options
[08:03]<@BC_Programming> For example Corel Video Studio X6's highest resolution seems to be 720x480... it has a "user-defined" option but it's grayed out. Why? no clue
[08:03]<+camerongray> I used Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum back when I did video stuff followed by Final Cut Pro X
[08:03]<+camerongray> Vegas was okay but drove me mental at times
[08:04]<@BC_Programming> It's always Video Formats that seem poor
[08:04]<@BC_Programming> I would have managed well with Pinnacle but it seems to insist on setting the resolution and won't allow it to be changed after a project is created which is really dumb
[08:05]<@BC_Programming> I'm also not sure how the "use resolution of first added clip" manages to select 720x480 for a clip that was close to 2560x1360
[08:09]<@BC_Programming> I may have to record again, silly me thought I could simply reduce the resolution but apparently that's too difficult for a modern Video editor or something. I can add text with shadows though
[08:10]<@BC_Programming> On another note I did take your advice not to move to 32GB of RAM but I almost didn't :P I got a 64GB Flash Drive and a new pair of Headphones a bunch of AAA and AA batteries as well as a new Mouse
[08:16]<+camerongray> haha
[08:19]<@BC_Programming> The new mouse actually serves a dual purpose since I setup my P4 for my Mum, I have her using a old mechano-optical mouse which was my only other mouse, and my old keyboard which doesn't work well for her since I typed mouse of the letters off. The mouse I am using is part of a keyboard/mouse combo and I never used the keyboard. So I'm getting a new mouse for myself and then can swap the
[08:19]<@BC_Programming> crappy mouse and my old keyboard on the P4 with the reunited keyboard/mouse combo. Can't separate them since they use the one receiver
[08:22]<+camerongray> Ahh cool
[08:22]<@BC_Programming> I'm tempted to let her use my Quad Core
[08:22]<@BC_Programming> if only so she doesn't have to run XP
[08:23]<@BC_Programming> which actually reminds me I should install an Anti-virus on it
[08:29]<+camerongray> Oops, almost died there
[08:30]<+camerongray> Had a bowl of keyboard keys sitting in water cleaning - Moved laptrop, adapter almost ended up in the water :P
[08:30]<@BC_Programming> yeah that's bad
[08:30]<@BC_Programming> who was the guy on youtube that puts motherboards in a dishwasher?
[08:31]<@BC_Programming> not sure why but you suddenly reminded me
[08:31]<+camerongray> uxwbill
[08:31]<+camerongray> I'm cleaning keys with denture cleaning tablets
[08:31]<@BC_Programming> yeah he's crazy
[08:31]<+camerongray> Love him though
[08:31]<+camerongray> They work brilliantly - Cleans, whitens and makes the keys smell fresh and minty
[08:33]<@BC_Programming> I find it odd that i have had a keyboard for something like 6 years and have never used it
[08:33]<+camerongray> hehe
[08:33]<+camerongray> I have too many mechanical keyboards
[08:33]<+camerongray> 4 Model M type ones
[08:33]<@BC_Programming> this is the wireless one for the mouse, I think I just wanted a mouse and they weren't selling them separate
[08:34]<+camerongray> 1986 Model M, 1989 Model M, 1994 Model M2, 2012 Unicomp Classic :P
[08:34]<@BC_Programming> I figured I could use the keyboard anyway then realized it sucked because they grouped the Function keys by 3 which is dumb and used a nonstandard control block
[08:34]<+camerongray> Also, just threw a spare SSD into an old Dell D620 I had sitting around and put Windows 8 on it - Works amazingly well!
[08:34]<+camerongray> Going to use it as a machine for any stuff I need Windows for
[08:35]<@BC_Programming> I'm trying to figure out topics for blog posts with C#
[08:35]<@BC_Programming> I keep coming up wit hstuff but then find I already wrote about it lol
[08:35]<+camerongray> lol
[08:36]<+camerongray> Only annoying things with this laptop is that it has a Core Duo CPU so is only 32bit and despite putting a Wireless N card in, it can only download at like 20mbps over the WiFi
[08:38]<@BC_Programming> Coer Duo's are 32-bit? My laptop is a "Dual Core" and it is 64-bit
[08:38]<@BC_Programming> I have no idea what an Intel Dual Core is... T3200 though
[08:43]<@BC_Programming> OOOH Alternate Data Streams, forgot about those
[08:45]<Quantos> Hey guys
[08:46]<@BC_Programming> Hey Quantos
[08:46]<@BC_Programming> I was going to say "I wasn't expecting you back so soon after the Pineapple incident"
[08:46]<Quantos> Pineapple incident?
[08:47]<@BC_Programming> exactly
[08:47] * Quantos wishes he wasn't so confused...
[08:47]<@BC_Programming> mission accomplished
[08:48] * Quantos mutters something about the geneva convention and cruel and unusual.....
[08:49]<@BC_Programming> cruel and unusual clowns are about as popular as you expect
[08:50]<@BC_Programming> Little Danny's birthday party was a bit of a bust after the chinese water torture
[08:50]<Quantos> Damn, that sux
[08:51]<@BC_Programming> yeah the police came right in and busted the clown
[08:51]<Quantos> LOL
[08:51]<@BC_Programming> turns out he was a robot and they broke him
[08:54]<Quantos> BRB
[09:07]<+camerongray> BC_Programming: Yeah - Core Duo is 32bit, Core 2 Duo is 64bit
[09:08]<@BC_Programming> oh I see
[09:08]<@BC_Programming> the one advantage of the #86 naming scheme I guess
[09:09]<@BC_Programming> imagine if was still being used... a i7 would be like a... 1286 or something
[09:09]<@BC_Programming> or not even because there have been like 3 i7's
[09:10]<+camerongray> haha
[09:11]<@BC_Programming> LOL video rendering complete
[09:11]<@BC_Programming> 1.75 GB
[09:11]<@BC_Programming> right resolution
[09:11]<@BC_Programming> but dropped frames and complete audio desync
[09:12]<+camerongray> Bloody Dell!
[09:12]<+camerongray> Don't you love laptops that give electric shocks, because I sure know I do
[09:12]<@BC_Programming> Not my kink I'm afraid
[09:12]<+camerongray> hehe
[09:13]<+camerongray> They've done that stupid thing Apple do where they don't put an earth connection on the adapter so the metal body of the laptop (D620) becomes live
[09:14]<Quantos> Morning Cam
[09:15]<+camerongray> Hey Quantos
[09:15]<@BC_Programming> my old 440CDX's AC Adapter doesn't have a ground
[09:15]<@BC_Programming> but it doesn't have a metal body either so there is that
[09:16]<@BC_Programming> Turns out it's still possible to buy (allegedly) new batteries for it
[09:16]<+camerongray> Yeah, the issue is the metal body
[09:16]<+camerongray> My T440s isn't grounded but the metal is painted so that's fine
[09:17]<@BC_Programming> JBL is a good brand for headphones I hope
[09:17]<+camerongray> Yeah, should be fine
[09:17]<+camerongray> I use Sennheiser - Really good
[09:17]<@BC_Programming> they were 149.99 so they better kick ass
[09:17]<+camerongray> I really badly shocked myself at work back when I had an x230 - Was using the MacBook and x230 at the same time (Macbook was metal and not grounded, ThinkPad was) - had my arm resting on the mac and went to use the ThinkPad, palm touched a metal bit on the fingerprint reader - Agony!
[09:17]<Quantos> JBL should be fine, I used to use them in the studio before I could afford the sennheiser
[09:18]<+camerongray> I just use in-ear ones
[09:18]<@BC_Programming> BLASPHEME NOT
[09:18]<+camerongray> Sennheiser MM 55i
[09:18]<Quantos> Not bad, I do prefer the full enclosure though
[09:19]<+camerongray> I use them at work/uni/bus so need them to just fit in my pocket - I use speakers (Bose Companion 2) when I'm at home
[09:19]<Quantos> Ah
[09:19]<@BC_Programming> I could do with another pair of in-ear actually, for use with my MP3 player
[09:19]<+camerongray> People tend to moan about Bose, I don't see it - These were like £99 and are amazing
[09:19]<@BC_Programming> though on the other hand, when your MP3 Player is held together with tape maybe a new MP3 player is a better idea
[09:20]<+camerongray> Especially for a 2.0 set
[09:20]<Quantos> Tape and bubble gum?
[09:20]<+camerongray> haha!
[09:20]<+camerongray> Been years since I saw an MP3 player in use :P - Everyone just uses phones now
[09:20]<@BC_Programming> yeah can't really buy them at all
[09:20]<@BC_Programming> and this exact model still sells for 80 dollars
[09:21]<Quantos> I hate phones, so I'm still a devoted mp3 player enthusiast
[09:21]<+camerongray> ahh wow, could get a phone for that :P
[09:21]<@BC_Programming> not without a contract I imagine
[09:21]<+camerongray> True
[09:21]<+camerongray> I don't really get the hatred for phones - Some people use them in a very annoying way, but the devices are fine
[09:22]<Quantos> I wasn't raised with phones, so I find them very cumbersome and awkward
[09:22]<@BC_Programming> It would make it hard to avoid work
[09:22]<+camerongray> I wasn't raised with them either :P
[09:22]<+camerongray> That is true, but I need to be contactable at all times for work
[09:22]<Quantos> No, I mean with any phone
[09:22]<+camerongray> ahh
[09:22]<Quantos> We didn't have phones, not where we lived
[09:22]<+camerongray> I rarely actually call people
[09:22]<@BC_Programming> Oh funny story
[09:22]<@BC_Programming> Fedex actually sent me a bill
[09:23]<+camerongray> Mostly just use it for Facebook messenger to get in touch with people
[09:23]<+camerongray> Or IRC for people at uni :P
[09:23]<@BC_Programming> apparently for the customs charge from the monitor, no way to pay it online though since it doesn't give an account number, oh well
[09:23]<+camerongray> Ahh yeah, ouch
[09:24]<+camerongray> My server is benig shipped back so customs will be fun for that
[09:24]<+camerongray> 20%, Declared value $100 so $20
[09:24]<+camerongray> Then an extra £8 for someone to open the box and go "Yep, it's a server"
[09:26]<@BC_Programming> I had to check, MP3 Player still works.
[09:26]<+camerongray> hehe, phre
[09:26]<+camerongray> phew*
[09:26]<+camerongray> I don't even use MP3s now, just stream everything :P
[09:26]<+camerongray> I get bored of songs to easily
[09:27]<+camerongray> s/to/too*
[09:27]<@BC_Programming> Volume Rocker is busted off, only the volume down switch is still intact because the volume up rocker solder broke off from metal fatique, the hold switch doesn't go up all the way and the case is held together with tape otherwise it splits apart faster than a celebrity marriage
[09:29]<@BC_Programming> I Lost some of my play count information from the reformat but I was up to something like 800 plays of some songs
[09:29]<+camerongray> Ahh yeah
[09:29]<+camerongray> My taste in music is pretty much...well...nonexistant :P
[09:33]<@BC_Programming> I like the megas, they turn Megaman Stage music into songs with lyrics
[09:33]<@BC_Programming> eg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDkewKBEUxk becomes this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8L2lMjr0fNo
[09:35]<+camerongray> haha nice!
[09:35]<+camerongray> I listen to pretty much everything as long as it isn't irritating
[09:42]<@BC_Programming> hmm I had my headphones plugged into my mp3 player and tried to change the song by using winamp. It took me longer than I'd like to admit to realize why the song wasn't changing
[09:42]<+camerongray> haha!

[09:52]<+camerongray> Damn!
[09:52]<+camerongray> Hey jacky :P
[09:52]<+camerongray> Bloody thing shocked me agian
[09:53]<@jacky> it shocked you because you said my name
[09:53]<@BC_Programming> well that won't help
[09:53]<+camerongray> I don't get it - Did Dell not actually try the laptop before they thought it was fine?
[09:53]<@jacky> lick it
[09:53]<@jacky> that's the best test
[09:53]<+camerongray> And I mean, it's a design flaw, not just a fault with my specific machine
[09:54]<+camerongray> ouch :P
[09:54]<@jacky> don't stick your tongue in the fan!
[09:54]<@jacky> do I have to tell you everything?.....
[09:55]<@BC_Programming> What if she likes it? Oh, you said fan
[09:55]<@jacky> not fan dancer
[09:56]<+camerongray> hehe
[09:58]<+camerongray> D'OH, hope noone noticed that - managed to post "Hey" on a friend's timeline rather than "Happy Birthday"
[09:58]<@BC_Programming> hahaha
[10:06]<+camerongray> Oh, so if I wear shoes the stupid thing won't shock me - Brilliant!
