[11:41]<+Craig> Hey Guys, how is everyone?
[11:41]<@BC_Programming> I'm good
[11:42]<@Calum> doing alright here thanks, you?
[11:45]<+camerongray> Hey BC_Programming/Calum/Craig
[11:46]<+camerongray> Calum: Any idea why Geek-9pm is still around? :P
[11:46]<+Craig> Hey Cameron, Calum, and BC,
[11:46]<+Craig> What are you all up to? I am doing weel.
[11:46]<+Craig> well* :P
[11:46]<+camerongray> Just about to head over to uni
[11:46]<@Calum> camerongray: no idea to be honest...I'm going to raise the subject again though, he needs a good banning
[11:46]<+camerongray> yeah
[11:47]<@Calum> Craig: I just got back from work, about to grab some food and chill...been somewhat ill again thanks to a "work meal out" which was awful
[11:47]<+camerongray> Just replied to one of my threads when I replied to someone claiming somethign about power cuts damaging SSDs with "What have you been smoking? An SSD can fail and how it is used matters." haha
[11:47]<+Craig> That sucks Calum
[11:47] * Nat (nat@mib-921C62AC.socal.res.rr.com) Quit (Quit: Bye)
[11:48]<@Calum> camerongray: yeah I saw that...*rolleyes*
[11:48]<+Craig> Hey camerongray post link?
[11:48]<+camerongray> http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,143850.msg906391.html#msg906391
[11:48]<+camerongray> Bet he's used loads of SSDs!
[11:48]<@Calum> I'm busily arguing the old AIO coolers vs air coolers again elsewhere heh
[11:49]<@Calum> yeah I'm sure he has!
[11:49]<@Calum> lol
[11:49]<+camerongray> haha
[11:49]<+Craig> Interesting
[11:49]<+camerongray> I use an AIO cooler - Fight me! :P
[11:49]<@Calum> I'll beat you to death with my room full of large air coolers :)
[11:49]<+camerongray> haha
[11:49]<@BC_Programming> Oh Geek you fountain of dimwittedness
[11:50]<+camerongray> I'll strangle you with my H60
[11:50]<+camerongray> I love how he replies to so many threads with what he must think is "useful info"
[11:50]<@Calum> some guy was trying to argue that AIO coolers look much better than a "chunk of metal" and has been swiftly corrected by about 4 people
[11:50]<+camerongray> Posting a link to something you found on google along with a small quote from it and photo isn't useful
[11:50]<+Craig> Hey camerongray, and Calum you guys should check this out, https://linuxacademy.com
[11:51]<+camerongray> I do prefer how mine looks, but it's a persnoal preference
[11:51]<@BC_Programming> "I googled a phrase from the Original Post" seems to be his raison d'etre
[11:51]<+camerongray> Yeah, and how he never proof reads anything
[11:52]<@BC_Programming> I have to say though I really did like when he backed something up with "If it is from a MS MVP or a community moderator it can be trusted as true"
[11:52]<+camerongray> I mean, if he needs dication software, that's fine, but at least fix it before you post
[11:52]<@Calum> yeah, it is all down to personal preference, I could just never stand their looks myself and it seems quite a few agree heh. Apart from that though my argument is that good air coolers perform better and don't have pumps to die randomly, also as you can't bleed closed loop coolers I've had it a few times where they get air in the pump
[11:52]<@Calum> I might give him a 1% warning level for every dumb thing he posts from now on...he'll be unable to post within a few hours
[11:53]<+camerongray> I still love when I posted about a PSU and he went MENTAL at me
[11:53]<@BC_Programming> that was hilarious
[11:54]<@BC_Programming> I really do love being able to quote an authoratative source like the "Repairing PCs" book though
[11:54]<+camerongray> YEah
[11:55]<@BC_Programming> I'm currently in a discussion with one of those "We should all switch to POSReady 2009" people
[11:55]<+camerongray> Not another one?
[11:55]<@BC_Programming> naturally they are using a pirate copy and claim not to be
[11:55]<+camerongray> haha, where is this?
[11:55]<@BC_Programming> Minecraft Forum
[11:55]<+camerongray> HAHA, link?
[11:56]<@BC_Programming> http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/2575426-windows-embedded-posready2009/
[11:56]<@BC_Programming> plz ignore that I have 7500 posts
[11:56]<@Calum> what the heck is posready?
[11:57]<+camerongray> Windows Embedded for Point of Sale
[11:57]<+camerongray> Basically, it's based on XP so XP fans are getting all happy as it's still somewhat supported
[11:58]<@BC_Programming> Actually, based on what I've found it seems to be based on Server 2003
[11:58]<@Calum> does it actually work with anything?
[11:58]<@BC_Programming> running Office breaches the EULA
[11:58]<+camerongray> Unfortunately yes
[11:59]<+camerongray> VWestlife really does annoy me with all his preaching about it
[11:59]<@Calum> I will never understand this obsession with XP
[12:00]<+camerongray> Yeah, I never even really liked it
[12:00]<@BC_Programming> It's weird because everytime a version is end of lifed, it's always "that was the best version of Windows" and "I'll never be forced to upgrade every 12 years by Microsoft"
[12:00]<@BC_Programming> and then they switch to Linux and get forced to do a clean install every 6 months
[12:00]<@Calum> I used to love it, don't get me wrong...well, I loved XP X64 which makes me some kind of god/freak, but come on, it's had its time
[12:01]<@BC_Programming> at least, 'forced' in the same way that Microsoft 'forces' people to switch
[12:01]<+camerongray> yeah
[12:01]<+camerongray> I loved Windows 2000, does that mean I should still use it?
[12:01]<@BC_Programming> I mean it's default theme is ridiculous even in hindsight
[12:02]<@BC_Programming> I Honestly want to know who thought that whole green and blue thing was the way to go
[12:02]<@Calum> yeah, I only ever used the classic theme, was never a fan of Luna
[12:02]<+camerongray> Yeah, it was too toyish
[12:02]<@BC_Programming> I used Luna but I didn't use the default, I used to install Royale Noir instead or use Silver
[12:02]<+camerongray> Calum: Watch this if you want to get really annoye
[12:02]<+camerongray> annoyed* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JP_n7V5AtKM
[12:03]<@BC_Programming> I did use Classic at first though because I thought Luna was this super heavy thing
[12:04]<+camerongray> Followed by "Look at me, I got an i5 machine, better put essentially XP on it" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StBDO22bT6Q
[12:04]<@BC_Programming> yeah I unsubbed him because I found his stuff to be too rose-tinted. Always about how things used to be so much better and yadda yadda
[12:05]<@BC_Programming> Also that XP thing kept coming up in unrelated videos
[12:06]<+camerongray> Yeah, some of his stuff is interestnig but he can get a bit annoying
[12:07]<+camerongray> I still love bbishoppcm and uxwbill though
[12:07]<@BC_Programming> I'm mostly subscribed to Minecraft stuff, heh
[12:07]<+camerongray> I need to do some videos of my old stuff - Just got an old Sun Ultra 5 workign with Solaris 8
[12:09]<+camerongray> I sense Jacky spying... :P
[12:09]<+camerongray> He's reading the SSD thread
[12:09]<@BC_Programming> But he's not even here
[12:09]<@BC_Programming> ooooh party line
[12:09]<@BC_Programming> sneaky
[12:09]<+camerongray> heeh
[12:09]<@BC_Programming> he's making sure we aren't talking about him
[12:10]<@BC_Programming> good thing he missed that discussion earlier!
[12:10]<+camerongray> Just wait until DB susses that out :P
[12:10]<+camerongray> Also, I have an SSD in my HTPC and pretty much manage to kill power to that every day, never killed it!
[12:11]<+camerongray> I turn the TV off, forget it's running then switch the socket off :P
[12:11]<@Calum> that's pretty much one of the points of an SSD, no? That it's not damaged by power loss and vibration/shocks?
[12:13]<+camerongray> Yeah, just not that guy in the forum :P
[12:13]<@Calum> preaching to the choir here I know, lol
[12:14]<+camerongray> I bet Geek-9pm would also love to hear that the SSD in my HTPC is stuck to the bottom of the DVD drive with sticky fixers
[12:14]<@Calum> hehe
[12:15]<@Calum> my SSDs are just floating in the middle of my case
[12:15]<@BC_Programming> dang POSReady is a pain to setup
[12:19]<@BC_Programming> lol this is hilarious
[12:19]<@BC_Programming> first it fails to find any ethernet device
[12:19]<@BC_Programming> this is a VM but Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, NT4, and even NT 3.51 found and used it without many issues
[12:19]<@BC_Programming> I managed to install the VMWare drivers... but now the keyboard doesn't work at the login screen
[12:21]<+camerongray> Lol
[12:21]<+camerongray> Oh yeah BC_Programming, we need build photos!
[12:21]<@BC_Programming> nah, I'd have to move stuff and do things
[12:21]<@BC_Programming> those are two things I hate
[12:22]<+camerongray> Hehe
