[18:13]<@BC_Programming> haha I got /r/Minecraft is such a circlejerk
[18:13]<@BC_Programming> bunch of people going on about how bad Notch's code is, so I ask for some specifics
[18:14]<@BC_Programming> Get downvoted to oblivion and told it's "common knowledge"
[18:14]<@BC_Programming> I point out that stating that "X is common knowledge" is not evidence that X is true, and ask for further information
[18:15]<@BC_Programming> one of them points to the trig functions, saying they were re-implemented, apparently not understanding that a Trig lookup table such as it's implemented there is a demonstrable performance improvement from the standard Library.
[18:15]<@BC_Programming> Another says the problems are "too high level" to express
[18:15]<@BC_Programming> idiots
[18:15]<+camerongray> lol yaeh
[18:16]<@BC_Programming> I mean, if it's so obviously a mess, it should be dead easy to come up with concrete examples of why that is the case
[18:16]<@BC_Programming> seems like it's just a popular opinion to hold for Hipster cred

[19:34]<descention> BC_Programming: found a bug in GriefPrevention: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/grief-prevention/tickets/419/ and I'm wondering if latest builds are backwards compatible with earlier version of bukkit. I'm running MCPC+ for MC 1.52, which is using craftbukkit 1.5.2
[19:35]<descention> I'm running GriefPRevention 7.8 on my server with minor issues
[19:38]<Jamer> he might be afk atm
[19:40]<descention> it's ok, I'm proficient in idling
[19:43]<descention> i'm working on recompiling the fix for my server while I wait
[19:45]<Craig> How goes it guys? Now that I am back from work. :P

[20:02]<@BC_Programming> descention: They use the 1.6.4 API. They will crash in a number of places due to missing classes and Enum fields on earlier versions.
[20:07]<descention> right, like leash stuff threw errors as it couldn't find that as part of the player data or something. Most everything else works. I can't seem to compile the code though. I'm guessing I don't have the required files set up correctly
[20:08]<@BC_Programming> The IntelliJ project I use references Bukkit (of course) but you also need the Vault.jar from Vault
[20:09]<descention> trying to compile build 194 with the same files it downloads, as shown in the console output on jenkins
[20:10]<descention> here I thought it would be easy to make the .class file I need =P
[20:11]<@BC_Programming> well you could rip ConfigData.class out of the latest dev build, I just made that change/issue you reported, so that should appear in the jenkins soon
[20:12]<descention> sweet
[20:12]<@BC_Programming> looks like it built already, #205
[20:12]<descention> woot!
[20:13]<descention> thank you
[20:13]<@BC_Programming> np that was a facepalm bug, haha
[20:18]<descention> also, great work on the plugin. It's my favorite.
[20:21]<descention> to put it into the jar, I just remove the meta-inf and overwrite the ConfigData.class file inside the jar, correct?
[20:22]<@BC_Programming> not the minecraft jar, the GriefPrevention jar, it shouldn't have a meta-inf
[20:23]<@BC_Programming> You could probably use the jar itself too, but if you are using a older build (#194) I presume you are doing so for a reason
[20:25]<descention> 194 was the most current when I added the plugin. if 205 is a 1.6.4 build I can try that jar
[20:25]<@BC_Programming> yeah don't plan on building against 1.7 for a while
[20:26]<descention> ok
