[03:39]<@BC_Programming> PyCharm is frikkin awesome
[04:54]<+camerongray> hehehe, gat_man is trying to convince us that he's in the right for having a 1200w PSU in his single GPU system!
[04:54]<@BC_Programming> gat_man is the cognitive equal of a freaking toddler
[04:55]<+camerongray> You know, 1200w in his XP system
[04:55]<+camerongray> Trying to say that he needs 600w so running twice that means the PSU runs cooler and lasts longer or some nonsense
[04:55]<@BC_Programming> wow
[04:55]<+camerongray> Even though needing 600w means he's pulling like half that normally so it's running WAY below peak efficiency
[04:56]<@BC_Programming> does he have any evidence or reports to back that up? perhaps some technical information that goes beyond handwavey ignorance? No, didn't think so
[04:56]<@BC_Programming> I would not be stretching to say he is quite possibly the worst case of Dunning-Kruger I have ever seen
[04:57]<+camerongray> I've asked what PSU it is he has, ignoring me
[04:58]<+camerongray> Probably because this 1200w PSU is a low end piece of junk that will probably run worse and last less time than a better lower wattage one
[04:58]<@BC_Programming> according to specifications a PCI-E Card cannot draw more than 300Watts total
[04:58]<@BC_Programming> so you would need a dual card setup to use 600 watts
[04:59]<@BC_Programming> I think it is funnier if he has a big expensive GPU and is only using it in a crappy 2-D mode for XP
[04:59]<@BC_Programming> Because it's the stablest Windows obviously
[05:00]<+camerongray> Yeah
[05:00]<+camerongray> It's an 8600 anyway
[05:00]<@BC_Programming> GPU?
[05:01]<@BC_Programming> 43 watts for a NVidia 8600 under full load
[05:01]<@BC_Programming> my GPU uses twice that!
[05:03]<+camerongray> [12:02:34] <guitar_man> told ya ias a cheapy was 79 nz $ ia a aywun
[05:03]<+camerongray> Soooo... It's a crappy 1200w for the price of a semi-decent lower wattage one
[05:03]<@BC_Programming> BAHAHA
[05:04]<@BC_Programming> I'm sure you've noticed that he has a tendency to be completely unintelligible
[05:04]<+camerongray> Yeah, ia aywan
[05:04]<+camerongray> oops, missed out an 'a'
[05:04]<@BC_Programming> is a aywun? is that a brand
[05:05]<@BC_Programming> "With manufacturing sources in China and Hong Kong" Yeah that tells us what we need to know
[05:06]<+camerongray> [12:05:17] <guitar_man> not correct camerongray as in a system under less load has less produced heat , hence less reistance
[05:06]<@BC_Programming> bahaha
[05:09]<+camerongray> And he's given up
[05:17]<+camerongray> Tempted to tell Calum on Facebook!

[15:13]<@Mulreay> bright UK ISS pass at 22:45
[15:15]<@Mulreay> @ camerongray that was
[15:15]<+camerongray> Yeah, super cloudy here though
[15:16]<@Mulreay> Clear as you like here
[15:16]<+camerongray> Nice
[15:16]<+camerongray> Did you see it last time?
[15:17]<@Mulreay> Seen it a few times bud
[15:17]<+camerongray> Yeah, but did you see it the time I did?
[15:17]<+camerongray> I remember you saying it was cloudy
[15:17]<@Mulreay> No too much cloud
[15:17]<+camerongray> Ahh
[15:17]<+camerongray> I need to get a remote for my camera, can then do longer than 30 seconds
[15:18]<+camerongray> You need to hold the button to do > 30 but if you do it on the camera it shakes :P
[15:19]<@Mulreay> Yeah
[15:19]<+camerongray> Can you actually see the ISS through your telescope?
[15:20]<@Mulreay> You can see the solar arrays kind of.. as in 4 points of light.. sepends on the scope and the person handling it... most likely not as it moves to fast over the sky
[15:21]<+camerongray> Ahh, what about things like satellites? Or are they too dim?
[15:21]<+camerongray> non-ISS satellites :P
[15:25]<@Mulreay> Not too dim just to fast to stay spotted. A telescope like mine looks at a VERY small percentage of the sky. Due to the fact the Earth turns at over 1'000mph it make's it difficult to watch objects as they constantly move outside of your field of view. So you have to be VERY tallanted to move the telescope by hand to follow the object. The closer the object the harder it gets.
[15:26]<+camerongray> Ahh
[15:27]<+camerongray> Happy I caught that flare though
[15:27]<@Mulreay> Yeah very cool
[15:27]<+camerongray> Camera wasn't properly set up so quality wasn't great, the app on my phone went off so I just hit the button
[15:27]<+camerongray> "ISS Detector" on Android - VERY cool!
[15:28]<+camerongray> Also shows flares and has (paid) plugins for other stuff
[15:28]<@Mulreay> If I'm honest that image you got of the ISS last time was something that would make a professional proud of.
[15:28]<+camerongray> Wow! Thanks
[15:29]<@Mulreay> It's true...
[15:29]<+camerongray> Must have been a fluke :P
[15:29]<+camerongray> This was me: http://i3.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/008/342/IHNIWIAD.jpg
[15:29]<@Mulreay> lol
[15:29]<+camerongray> For about 30 mins before I kept fiddling with settings and taking photos to check
[15:30]<@Mulreay> You did awesome.. you have a knack for it
[15:30]<+camerongray> And my high tech way of knowing the right point to focus was were the 'J' in 'Jessops' on the UV filter lined up with the 'a' in 'Canon'
[15:30]<+camerongray> Not got the fancy lens that actually shows you on a dial :P
[15:31]<+camerongray> Also got a video of the final pass - not that long though
[15:31]<+camerongray> I suppose I could stick it on YouTube
[15:31]<@Mulreay> Yeah do
[15:31]<@Mulreay> I will like and favourite and stuff
[15:32]<+camerongray> lol, kk
[15:32]<+camerongray> Ahh, only 136.5mb, that should be nice and fast
[15:32]<@Mulreay> He says.. still waiting for my video to be approved
[15:33]<@Mulreay> Been about 4hrs now
[15:33]<+camerongray> Ahh, adsense?
[15:33]<@Mulreay> Indded
[15:33]<@Mulreay> indeed*
[15:34]<+camerongray> Ahh
[15:34]<@Mulreay> Re-uploaded now.. if they don't hurry up I may go to sleep
[15:34]<+camerongray> Woo - Upload a video, IRC lag goes to 1.9s :P
[15:42]<@Mulreay> OK now going to watch the ISS fly over
[15:53]<+camerongray> Video up!
[15:53]<+camerongray> This is the third pass of the night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSwBAyMYpVU
[16:28]<@Mulreay> Best
[17:33]<+camerongray> Thanks!
