[01:10]<@BC_Programming> !seen Tux2
[03:18]<Zuwer> Hmm, my taste in music changes too much, noticed that over the couple of months I'm listening to less electronic music and more metal again. :s
[03:18]<+camerongray> lol, I don't even know what music I listen to :P
[03:19]<Zuwer> Just whatever is playing in the background? :P
[03:47]<+camerongray> Yeah, usually the radio
[03:48]<@BC_Programming> The Buggles suck
[03:48]<@BC_Programming> and they have a stupid name
[03:48]<+camerongray> lol
[03:48]<+camerongray> I don't mind most music as long as it isn't irritating
[03:48]<+camerongray> Or anything described as 'indie'
[03:49]<@BC_Programming> I used to think Indie meant it was from India
[03:50]<+camerongray> lol!
[04:06] * Erika (nds@mib-735470C7.lightspeed.wepbfl.sbcglobal.net) has joined #glitchpc
[04:42]<@BC_Programming> hmm that is a disturbing theory
[04:43]<@BC_Programming> The flintstones are set in prehistoric times, and the jetsons are supposed to be the future
[04:43]<+camerongray> Uh oh, what happened
[04:43]<@BC_Programming> but what if they are both the future and the flintstones are just the people living on the earth
[04:43]<@BC_Programming> like the poor people
[04:45]<+camerongray> lol!
[04:45]<@BC_Programming> It's not funny it raises serious social questions
[04:45]<@BC_Programming> like using dinosaurs for toilets
[04:45]<@BC_Programming> and perhaps the biggest one of them all, using a laugh track on a freaking animated cartoon
[05:10] * Erika (nds@mib-735470C7.lightspeed.wepbfl.sbcglobal.net) Quit (Ping timeout)

[09:35]<+camerongray> Oh dear...
[09:35]<+camerongray> [16:34:16] <guest_49> patio: what i connected to another pc (mac) was just the harddrive. Yes it's read all the files from it there perfectly.
[09:35]<+camerongray> [16:34:42] <patio> guest_49: and it tried to boot to it...right ?
[09:35]<+camerongray> [16:35:03] <patio> Hooking it up to a MAC wasn't a good idea.
[09:35]<@BC_Programming> MAC
[09:35]<+camerongray> lol
[09:35]<@BC_Programming> he keeps capsing that for some reason
[09:35]<+camerongray> Yeah
[09:36]<+camerongray> I mean, yeah booting on a different device can make Windows go funny but connecting it as an external device will do nothing
[09:36]<+camerongray> In fact, if you don't have the NTFS drivers installed, it'll be read only!
[09:37]<@BC_Programming> I predict a puff!
[09:37]<+camerongray> hehehe
[09:37]<+camerongray> You should say something :P
[09:39]<+camerongray> I'm not sure the machine is actually passing POST :P
[09:40]<+camerongray> https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQqG1H7NMQVo-Lp3sKxNSxeHXQ4ONIdCIckAyJK_KOXK4KobKjGdw
[09:40]<+camerongray> Because he's barking up the wrong tree, get it? Dog... barking...
[09:50]<+camerongray> Now time to reset your CMOS by removing the laptop's main battery and not the CMOS one
[10:04]<+camerongray> I can see steam coming out lostcoast and patio's ears
[10:06]<+camerongray> And a "use the forums"
[10:06]<+camerongray> Oh wait "USE the forums"
[10:06]<@BC_Programming> "<patio> His Vista bootloader got corrupted hooking it up to another PC."
[10:06]<@BC_Programming> What worries me is he is allegedly a tech that comes near other peoples PCs
[10:07]<@BC_Programming> well goes near, if he came near them that would be a weird fetish and worry anybody
[10:07]<+camerongray> lol!
[10:07]<+camerongray> This would be a tech who never hooks up drives to a different PC
[10:07]<+camerongray> or OMG, a mac!
[10:08]<+camerongray> before I started using Linux I used to always hook up drives to the mac to prevent virus transfer!
[10:08]<@BC_Programming> Boot loaders are destroyed by magick by connecting to that style of wizard box
[10:09]<+camerongray> lol
[10:09]<+camerongray> You need to chime in :P

[13:32]<+camerongray> yeah
[13:33]<jamer> would the 800 mhz fsb core 2 duo's work on my current fsb which is current 667 mhz?
[13:33]<+camerongray> Don't think so sadly
[13:34]<jamer> its the i945gm
[13:35]<+camerongray> Nah, doubt it
[13:36]<jamer> ok
[13:37]<jamer> that limits the cpu's

[19:42]<@BC_Programming> OWNED
[19:47]<jamer> Lol
[19:48]<@BC_Programming> second page mostly
[19:48]<@BC_Programming> "My battery doesn't work with Windows 7 therefore Windows 7 wrecks batteries"
[19:48]<@BC_Programming> stupid, idiotic, and unscientific postulations based on nothing but anecdotal evidence are my berserk button
[19:49]<jamer> My battery is junk and I know it is before I installed 7
[19:53]<@BC_Programming> Their theory doesn't explain why my battery still works fine either
[19:53]<@BC_Programming> I predicted their reply already at the end, they won't get that far before responding which will make me look psychic
[20:00]<Zuwer> Surely that guy is just messing with everyone. :s
[20:01]<@BC_Programming> No
[20:05]<Zuwer> Must be very opinionated then. :x
[20:07]<@BC_Programming> "opinionated" is a code word for "stupid"
[20:07]<@BC_Programming> "Nothing you say will change my mind" is their hallmark
[20:09]<Zuwer> "thanks for replying but if you have nothing to say but to criticize my theory---then don't post on my thread. K? And I'm nrot clicking on your link. Prob takes me to a virus or <censored> porn". I guess changing "opinionated" to "stupid" could work.
[20:10]<@BC_Programming> I think I destroyed them with my last reply. Their "theory" is not a theory, because it has so little supporting evidence... a theory is an explanation for why things are, postulating that Windows 7 ruins batteries as an explanation for why their battery is ruined doesn't explain why it doesn't destroy everybody's battery in every laptop
[20:10]<@BC_Programming> their anecdotal evidence that Windows 7 ruins batteries is easily cancelled out by my own anecdotal evidence that Windows 7 works fine on my laptop and has had no adverse effect on battery life
[20:12]<Zuwer> Hmm, wonder what would happen if I pointed out the Windows 7 laptop sitting in my shelves with a dead battery would do. Of course, wouldn't point out that the battery has been cycled from full to dead flat almost daily. (My sister would only plug it in when it was flat)
