[10:47]<+camerongray> hey Vr
[10:47]<+Craig> ?
[10:47]<+camerongray> Craig*
[10:47]<+Craig> Really?
[10:48]<+Craig> ... :P Hi
[10:48]<+Craig> How goes it Vamerongray?

[10:48]<+Craig> up to*
[10:49]<+camerongray> Nothing much :P
[10:57]<+camerongray> At the moment I'm building a small CMS
[10:57]<+Craig> Again?
[10:57]<+camerongray> lol, this time to release
[10:57]<+camerongray> The others were just for practice
[10:58]<+Craig> Ahh
[11:00]<+camerongray> Not trying to compete with the big players like Drupal, making it for small websites
[11:00]<+camerongray> Designed to be really easy to use from a client's perspective

[15:21]<+camerongray> BC_Programming: Java you say...
[15:21]<@BC_Programming> http://victoria.en.craigslist.ca/eng/3582042371.html
[15:22]<@BC_Programming> only thing is the "Contract job" deal... not sure I like the idea of moving to Vancouver for something that isn't full-time and 'safe'
[15:22]<+camerongray> Hmm, yeah
[15:22]<@BC_Programming> anymore than I like the idea of going to the UK to help with an event I have no interest in, which is something I would rather like Mulreay to clue in with
[15:23]<+camerongray> lol
[15:23]<+camerongray> But you should come to the UK, because& err...
[15:23]<+Craig> What did you need from me BC?
[15:23]<@BC_Programming> Craig: can I put you as a reference on my resume?
[15:23]<@BC_Programming> just need a phone # if so
[15:23]<+Craig> Sure
[15:23]<+Craig> Broked Computer - 403-896-7598
[15:24]<@BC_Programming> thx Craig
[15:24]<+camerongray> Have you done a lot of java before?
[15:25]<@BC_Programming> http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/basecamp-survivalchests/
[15:25]<@BC_Programming> that pretty much the only Java thing I have online heh
[15:25]<+Craig> What about java Database
[15:25]<+Craig> ?
[15:25]<@BC_Programming> JDBC
[15:26]<@BC_Programming> I helped Tux with that on another plugin if memory serves
[15:26]<+Craig> Or, this, Strong working knowledge of SQL in general, MySQL preferred, Oracle okay <- :P
[15:26]<@BC_Programming> BCJobClock uses mySQL with C#, my website uses MySQL with PHP, and the LWC code I did used MySQL through JDBC
[15:27]<+Craig> Cool, I have no clue about that stuff. :p
[15:27]<@BC_Programming> technically BCJobClock also works with SQL Server but I didn't try that, which is ironic since SQL Server is supposed to be the "go to" database for .NET stuff
[15:27]<+camerongray> It's just a pain having to move but worth a go
[15:28]<@BC_Programming> yeah... any luck the Wirestorm guy will get back to me this month or next
[15:28]<+camerongray> Yeah
[15:28]<@BC_Programming> Wirestorm being actual .NET/C# work, and being right here in Nanaimo :P
[15:28]<+camerongray> That's the thing with Canada and the US, everything is so spaced out
[15:28]<@BC_Programming> Praxis I already sort of cut my losses with those fellas :( would have been epic but oh well
[15:29]<@BC_Programming> in the meantime I'm trying to keep up my programming postings... don't want to lose my MVP next July heheh
[15:29]<+camerongray> One of the guys at work comes in every day from the west coast, Edinburgh is on the east coast but the country is so small it takes under about an hour on the train :P
[15:30]<@BC_Programming> yeah, takes a bit longer to go from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland
[15:30]<@BC_Programming> and when you get their you can't understand what anybody is saying
[15:30]<@BC_Programming> there*
[15:31]<+camerongray> lol, funny you say that, Same here!
[15:31]<+camerongray> You can literally go a few miles and the accent is completely different
[15:31]<@BC_Programming> heh
[15:32]<@BC_Programming> then there is Quebec...
[15:32]<+camerongray> One of my friends is 7 miles away - Completely different accent!
[15:33]<@BC_Programming> heh every few sentences you have to go... "what?"
[15:33]<+camerongray> lol, it's fun watching some of the foreign guys at uni, you don't realise that you are using scots words until they start staring blankly at you
[15:34]<@BC_Programming> and backing away slowly
[15:34]<+camerongray> I don't think twice about saying "wee" or "aye" - You just forget
[15:35]<+camerongray> There's one guy from Texas, he's determined to learn what all the scots words eman
[15:35]<+camerongray> mean*
[15:36]<@BC_Programming> heh throw him off-guard
[15:36]<+camerongray> It was "Burns Day" last week, had him reading that, was painful!
[15:37]<@BC_Programming> we have that here... not a big holiday but enough to get mentions on the newsa
[15:37]<+camerongray> Ahh, never knew that
[15:37]<+camerongray> Imagine an american guy with a very thick Texas accent trying to read this: http://www.robertburns.org/works/75.shtml
[15:37]<@BC_Programming> about half the people if you asked would be like "wtf is robbie burns day" though to be fair
[15:38]<+camerongray> Yeah, bigger deal here
[15:38]<@BC_Programming> I've seen that poem before
[15:38]<+camerongray> Was snowing though so I wasn't able to go out
[15:38]<@BC_Programming> I think I remember it from English class
[15:39]<+camerongray> Ahh yeah, we did that
[15:39]<+camerongray> "English" :P
[15:40]<@BC_Programming> completely unrelated, but Office 2013 is pretty awesome
[15:41]<+camerongray> Yeah, looks pretty nice
[15:41]<+camerongray> Office Mac on the other hand...
[15:41]<@BC_Programming> it can open and save PDF files directly... probably my favourite feature
[15:41]<+camerongray> Sweet!
[15:43]<@BC_Programming> I moved BASeBlock over to Visual Studio 2012... then updated to the latest Preview Patch
[15:43]<@BC_Programming> Built-in support for Git right in the Solution explorer, with little symbols to show what files were changed or added since the last push and stuff
[15:44]<+camerongray> Yeah, heard that, not done MS stuff in a while though
[15:44]<@BC_Programming> Cool bit was I didn't actually needt oconfigure it like I thought, once I added the git support it automatically found the existing git repo information and connected to github to get that info
[15:44]<@BC_Programming> you probably heard it from me since I mentioned it before :P
[15:50]<@BC_Programming> I wonder if I'll get another trophy if I get re-awarded the MVP award for 2013
[15:50]<@BC_Programming> or maybe they'll realize their mistake :P
[15:50]<@BC_Programming> "sorry that was a clerical error, please send us back the award we sent last year"
[15:50]<+camerongray> hehehe
[15:50]<+camerongray> And pay for every piece of software on MSDN
[15:50]<@BC_Programming> lol
[15:52]<@BC_Programming> shame I didn't get the coffee tumbler and the fleecey they sent
[15:52]<@BC_Programming> I wonder if it showed up at the old house
[15:52]<+camerongray> aww
[15:52]<@BC_Programming> and the people living there were like "COOL free stuff"
[15:53]<+camerongray> lol!
[15:53]<@BC_Programming> it probably just got sent back though as undeliverable
