[00:00] * Set by jacky on Tue Mar 02 11:03:23
[00:05]<@BC_Programming> apparently it isn't just zombies, skeletons, and pigmen that can use equipment
[00:05]<Tux2> Oh really?
[00:05]<@BC_Programming> don't see how else I just had a cave spider do 21 damage to me
[00:05]<@BC_Programming> you can't see it, obviously
[00:05]<Tux2> lol
[00:05]<@BC_Programming> but it seems to have an effect
[00:05]<Tux2> You know what's funny?
[00:05]<@BC_Programming> what's that?
[00:06]<Tux2> During the first round of the Penguin Survival games, we had like 4 players left and all of them were just kind of camping out...
[00:06]<Tux2> so I started spawning mobs...
[00:06]<@BC_Programming> hmm interesting
[00:06]<Tux2> I hear one of the players go: "OMG! OP spider!"
[00:07]<@BC_Programming> maybe the PvP mode can switch on the mob spawning logic after a few minutes :P
[00:07]<Tux2> Next thing: * player died from spider
[00:07]<@BC_Programming> lol
[00:08]<@BC_Programming> actually that's a really good idea to prevent camping
[00:08]<@BC_Programming> just turn on the mobarena spawn logic... somebody will die pretty quick once that happens
[00:08]<Tux2> lol, yeah
[00:08]<@BC_Programming> especially if they aren't expecting it
[00:09]<Tux2> or maybe just have a switch
[00:09]<Tux2> so an OP could enable it whenever they wanted to add a little extra spice into the game
[00:09]<@BC_Programming> yeah
[00:11]<@BC_Programming> hmm
[00:11]<@BC_Programming> trying to make it so that all non-player mobs are removed when a game starts
[00:11]<@BC_Programming> but they still drop items
[00:16]<@BC_Programming> ok so /mobtimeout to set a number of seconds after a PvP match starts at which point mob spawning will enable
[00:17]<@BC_Programming> or /mobsweeper to do so manually
[00:21]<Tux2> Yeah, works for me
[00:23]<@BC_Programming> if I could make the mobs spawn naturally in a higher light level I totally would do that too
[00:31]<@BC_Programming> lol now I can't find how I'm disabling and enabling the monster spawns
[00:34]<@BC_Programming> ahh I'm just toggling the gamerule, good
[00:35]<@BC_Programming> I need to put this on bukkitdev one of these days
[00:35] * JZylstra (Zylstra@F3811F1C.5D6583E5.1B060C60.IP) has joined #glitchpc
[01:00]<@BC_Programming> hmm should make a logo... guess I need a proper name for the plugin first
[01:01]<@BC_Programming> maybe I can just say it's really survival/chests because it has features for both
[01:03]<JZylstra> I'll sit here completely confused as to what I missed.
[01:03]<@BC_Programming> Minecraft bukkit plugin
[01:03]<JZylstra> Heh, no idea what that would be. Guess I need to get into videogaming.
[01:05]<JZylstra> I seem to recall #glitchpc having more usage, been slow lately?
[01:07]<@BC_Programming> it feels slower
[01:07]<@BC_Programming> but the log files are about the same size, lol
[01:54]<Tux2> lol
[01:54]<Tux2> It's just us old folks in here most of the time
[01:55]<@BC_Programming> Tux2: how much have you worked with forge, btw?
[01:55]<Tux2> BC_Programming: I need your epic design skills for a banner for Epic Tekkit Lite, for both the website, and as a banner ad
[01:55]<@BC_Programming> Tux2: I did notice the banner was a bit lacking when I voted
[01:55]<@BC_Programming> :P
[01:55]<Tux2> BC_Programming: I'm porting the Enjin Minecraft Plugin to forge
[01:56]<Tux2> as well as going through the basic tutorials
[01:56]<@BC_Programming> ahh... so nothing like Gui's or new blocks?
[01:56]<Tux2> New blocks? Definitely. GUIs? Nope, not yet.
[01:56]<@BC_Programming> what kind of new blocks are you thinking of
[01:57]<JZylstra> Curious: does Glitch still have a website? Doesn't look like he is running this chat, which I found interesting.
[01:57]<Tux2> Why do you ask?
[01:57]<JZylstra> nevermind, http://www.glitchpc.net/
[01:57]<Tux2> BC_Programming: why do you ask?
[01:57]<@BC_Programming> Tux2: no reason, just curious because I made a block and a Gui so far :P
[01:57]<Tux2> Ah... I was just going through tutorials
[01:58]<Tux2> Getting ready to make my dragon world mod
[01:58]<@BC_Programming> Diamond Anvil :D was not fun to get that working originally... I thought "ah, I can just derive from BlockAnvil, and work from there"
[01:58]<@BC_Programming> how naive that was
[01:58]<Tux2> lol
[01:58]<Tux2> Copy/paste BlockAnvil
[01:59]<@BC_Programming> I ended up following the tutorials and then tweaking it to work like the vanilla anvil, then I went forward with my specific functionality
[01:59]<Tux2> Ah...
[01:59]<@BC_Programming> http://bc-programming.com/images/thebook.png
[01:59]<@BC_Programming> disenchanting :D
[02:00]<Tux2> I've done tools, blocks, and stuff though
[02:00]<Tux2> Nice!
[02:00]<Tux2> Do you lose the tool?
[02:00]<@BC_Programming> yes
[02:00]<@BC_Programming> also it only takes the strongest enchantment
[02:01]<@BC_Programming> that sword had like 3 enchants on it there, but sharpness VI was the strongest
[02:01]<Tux2> Ah... so you would only do it on badly damaged tools that can't be repaired anymore
[02:01]<@BC_Programming> well that, or you could take the enchantments off of gold tools
[02:01]<@BC_Programming> and move them to other materials, etc
[02:01]<Tux2> Ah...
[02:01]<@BC_Programming> level cap is higher, but it also costs more for the stuff the normal anvil is capable of
[02:02]<@BC_Programming> not that combining two sharpness V swords was really cheap either, though...
[02:04]<@BC_Programming> it also has an achievement when it's crafted, lol
[02:04]<@BC_Programming> "Maximum Repair"
[02:17]<@BC_Programming> Tux2: I'm putting the plugin on dev.bukkit now... should I check off 'experimental' do you think?
[02:17]<@BC_Programming> well I didn't
[02:19]<@BC_Programming> http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/basecamp-survivalchests/
[02:19]<@BC_Programming> I need to edit the readme methinks
