[07:39]<@BC_Programming> heh he used the original IBM PC to tweet and browse the internet
[07:39]<+Mulreay> looking
[07:40]<+Mulreay> Early floppy discs were just too darned small! That will be on my tombstone
[07:41]<@BC_Programming> heh
[07:41]<+Mulreay> It is bizarre looking back at what we had to what we have
[07:42]<@BC_Programming> kind of wish I kept my 286
[07:42]<+Mulreay> '16KB of RAM' lolz
[07:43]<@BC_Programming> yeah I think that was the stock installed RAM for the original IBM PC
[07:45]<+Mulreay> I think my Amiga 500 had 512kb RAM and I sooooo wanted to upgrade to 1mb.. it was like the best thing ever if you could. At the time I had no idea what RAM did but doubling it sounded awesome. Quite a handy cover underneath as well to swap the RAM out like on todays laptops/netbooks
[07:48]<@BC_Programming> Oh I made a CD Player out of an old CD-ROM drive, heh
[07:48]<+Mulreay> heh, cool
[07:49]<@BC_Programming> it was one of those really old ones that has play/pause buttons and a headphone jack, just had to plop it in an enclosure that I had that I bought ages ago and never used
[07:49]<+Mulreay> awesome do you still have it?
[07:49]<@BC_Programming> yeah just made it last night
[07:50]<+Mulreay> cool, video?
[07:50]<@BC_Programming> hmm good idea
[07:50]<@BC_Programming> will have to make one

[10:09]<Tux2> Morning BC_Programming, you there?
[10:09]<@BC_Programming> greetings Tux2
[10:10]<Tux2> Remember that audio file I was playing around with? This is the result: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2B4Lg6MsDcg
[10:11]<Tux2> There are a few places where it's slightly out of sync... blame audacity, still trying to get time changing working in it...
[10:11]<@BC_Programming> very nice
[10:11]<Tux2> (One of the downfalls of compiling it yourself...)
[10:12]<@BC_Programming> I was thinking of trying something like that with a Super PonyBeat song but those can be a pain
[10:12]<Tux2> lol, yeah, those are interesting.
[10:13]<@BC_Programming> One of them has words, but it is an original composition
[10:14]<Tux2> lol, yeah. I discovered that album two days ago... downloaded the whole thing.
[10:14]<@BC_Programming> me two, already have that Luna song memorized, lol
[10:14]<@BC_Programming> me too*
[10:15]<Tux2> lol! How many variations do they need of it anyways?
[10:16]<@BC_Programming> I think there are the main two, "Dream mode" and "nightmare mode" which were dissapointingly exactly the same
[10:16]<@BC_Programming> then some weird jazz thing, an instrumental version, and some weird "uncorrected vocals" thing or something, which I can't tell the difference in
[10:17]<Tux2> lol... well, I can tell the differences in all of them, surprisingly enough, but yes, they are very similar.
[10:18]<@BC_Programming> the "uncorrected vocals" is the only one that seems the same to me
[10:19]<Tux2> ah
[10:29]<+Mulreay> camerongray you need a favicon.. Hate bookmarking websites without them.. I don'thate your website just to be clear but I have to hover over bookmarks to see the URL rather than just know the favicon
[10:29]<+camerongray> Ahh - Will sort one
[10:30]<+camerongray> Trying to track down my touchpad atm :P
[10:31]<@BC_Programming> my favicon is awesome
[10:31]<+camerongray> You send Carphone warehouse an email and get an automated reply saying "You will know in a week"
[10:32]<@BC_Programming> lol
[10:32]<+camerongray> Going to see if staples/currys have any - Won't open until I know about CPW and can always return/sell one
[10:33]<+Mulreay> heh
[10:33]<+Mulreay> BC_Programming yeah you favicon is actually eally detailed
[10:34]<+Mulreay> your*
[10:34]<+Mulreay> what has happend to my keyboard... I have to smack the keys to make them work... no fast typing here
[10:36] * jacky (the_kink@mib-3CE7B6FB.slsbmd.east.verizon.net) Quit (Ping timeout)
[10:37]<Tux2> Ugh mulreay, maybe you need to clean it?
[10:37]<+Mulreay> Yeah with a hammer
[10:38]<+Mulreay> Mmm seems I had pressed the middle mouse button and that was messing things up
[10:39]<Tux2> lol...
[10:41]<@BC_Programming> Tux2: trying to add vocals to Super Pony Beats "Bestest friend (Italo Nostalgia Remix)
[10:41]<@BC_Programming> I thought it would be easy because it's kinda short...
[10:41]<@BC_Programming> not really though
[10:41]<Tux2> lol! Duoh! Remixes are hard to fit vocals to.
[10:42]<Tux2> Especially if they aren't supposed to be sung to.
[10:43]<@BC_Programming> since the song itself is rather short and it seems that the tempo is the same when it repeats, I was able to simply copy and paste what I had and plop it in the right position
[10:43]<@BC_Programming> now I'm trying to make it fit stylistically
[10:43]<Tux2> nice
[10:48]<Tux2> be right back, I have to restart gnome

[10:56]<+Mulreay> Did you get around to the CD drive video?
[10:57]<Tux2> lol, let me know when it's uploaded. ;)
[10:57]<Tux2> I have a whole box of CD drives.
[10:57]<@BC_Programming> Mulreay: yeah I made a video, still have to upload it though
[10:57]<+Mulreay> cool
[11:09]<+Mulreay> Heh cool, unlimited web hosting is in Manchester... no wonder they ring me when there is a problem.. cheap calls

[11:37]<Tux2> lol, you weren't kidding, were you?
[11:38]<Tux2> I do like the screenshot you picked. ;)
[11:38]<@BC_Programming> heh yeah
[11:39]<Tux2> So, did you add just vocals, or did some music get mixed in there too?
[11:39]<@BC_Programming> vocoder made it sound like crap
[11:40]<Tux2> ah...
[11:40]<@BC_Programming> it's just directly from the unofficial soundtrack, the newer mixes music covers it up I think
[11:42]<Tux2> ah... I thought I heard the other music messing it up
[11:43]<@BC_Programming> that was probably just my cutting
[11:43]<@BC_Programming> or possibly sound effects from the original
[12:10]<Tux2> BC_Programming, were you the one that "liked" my video?
[12:10]<@BC_Programming> yeah
[12:10]<Tux2> :D
[12:11]<Tux2> having the original comment on it makes me feel much at ease that he doesn't want me to take it down. :)
[12:11]<Tux2> original maker*
[12:11]<@BC_Programming> yeah, noticed that
[12:36]<+Mulreay> I'm gonna start web hosting for ?1 a month
[13:00]<Tux2> Ah, nice!
[13:04]<Tux2> Ugh, trying to get this windows 98 computer to stop bluescreening
[13:05]<@BC_Programming> heh
[13:06]<Tux2> lol, yeah, it's a development laptop and it has custom software that only works in 98 and older...
[13:06]<Tux2> So far I've just made it worse...
[13:06]<Tux2> I do at least have a full backup of the hard drive...
[13:09]<Tux2> I uninstalled norton utilities, which was causing the blue screen, but now the computer just locks up on me..
[13:31]<@BC_Programming> starting FLStudio again, crossing my fingers it doesn't tickle my sound card the wrong way again
[13:32]<Tux2> lol...
[13:32]<Tux2> Try LMMS. ;)
[13:33]<@BC_Programming> no thanks
[13:37]<Tux2> lol, bad network card or drivers to thank for the black screen...
[14:04]<Tux2> Ugh, missing use flags are a nightmare...
[14:04]<@BC_Programming> ?
[14:04]<Tux2> especially when you only need them for one program...
[14:04]<Tux2> Oh, in gentoo you have use flags to tell gentoo what support to compile into programs
[14:07]<Tux2> I was missing the use flags that I needed in audacity so that I could speed up and slow down audio without changing the pitch\
[14:16]<Tux2> Ha! This is better now!
