[08:50]<Tux2> BC_Programming, hi
[08:50]<@BC_Programming> hi Tux2
[08:52]<@BC_Programming> ever been stabbed in the back by somebody you'd worked with, and even somewhat considered a friend, for 5 years?
[08:52]<@BC_Programming> yeah I am totally disallusioned right now
[08:53] * jacky_away is now known as jacky
[08:53]<@jacky> BC_Programming: that's life
[08:53]<Tux2> :( sorry to hear. Sorry to say, it may not have been five years, but I know what you are talking about.
[08:53]<@jacky> not to be too callous.... but... it is
[08:54]<@BC_Programming> Yeah
[08:54]<@jacky> BC_Programming: I'm curious though.... you used the term "somewhat"... with 20-20 hindsight, did your gut tell you back then, not to trust this person 100% ? :)
[08:55]<@BC_Programming> jacky:the somewhat might have been a lie, I did consider her a friend in some capacity
[08:55]<@BC_Programming> If I trusted anybody that I worked with it was her
[08:56]<@jacky> ok
[08:56]<@jacky> what did this person do to you, anyway?
[08:56]<@BC_Programming> she didn't really do anything
[08:56]<@jacky> uhh... ok
[08:56]<@jacky> hehehehe
[08:56]<@BC_Programming> gimme a sec
[08:57]<@jacky> (expecting either a phone call or a visitor, so I abruptly post that I'm gone... now you know)
[08:58]<@BC_Programming> While I was putting our freezer truck delivery away this morning; which I've been doing for ages, and is a major pain in the butt, I heard her complaining to the morning baker that I should have had everything done yatta yatta he just comes to play blah blah
[08:58]<@BC_Programming> and I wasn't IN the freezer at the time
[08:58]<@BC_Programming> so I just go around the corner and say
[08:58]<@BC_Programming> "yeah I can hear EVERYTHING you just said. Nice"
[08:58]<@jacky> and then... ?
[08:59]<@BC_Programming> well I finished putting the truck away and came home
[08:59]<@jacky> the baker didn't say anything
[08:59]<@jacky> she didn't say anything?
[08:59]<@jacky> you didn't say any more?
[08:59]<@jacky> :)
[08:59]<@jacky> c'mon.... spill the gossip
[08:59]<@jacky> hehehee
[08:59]<@BC_Programming> she said something, I didn't hear it, and then left
[08:59]<@BC_Programming> I didn't say anything at all to her after that
[08:59]<@jacky> I guess I'm old
[09:00]<@jacky> I'd have walked over and said something like, " Hey! I didn't <censored>' hear what you just mumbled!"
[09:00]<@BC_Programming> I thought afterwards of something better to have said
[09:00]<@jacky> oohh... sorry... forgot I wa sin the channel
[09:00]<@BC_Programming> "if you are going to backstab somebody, do it properly! Geez"
[09:00]<@jacky> har
[09:01]<@BC_Programming> and of course, she, as the supervisor, should be telling ME this
[09:01]<@jacky> actually, I wonder if the best thing to have said, would have been to demand an explanation of how you should have had everything done, etc.
[09:01]<@jacky> just to see what she had to say
[09:01]<+pottsi> really pisses me off tha
[09:01]<@jacky> oh.. this person is your boss? ... then leave out the profanity. hehehehee
[09:01]<+pottsi> t
[09:02]<@BC_Programming> management basically wants me to make what amounts to like 12 dozen muffins, about 14 dozen donuts, some danishes, croissants, 6 dozen cookies, and that is supposed to take two hours
[09:02]<+pottsi> think of witty things after the argument
[09:02]<@jacky> pottsi: Hello
[09:02]<+pottsi> like <censored> why couldnt i think of them when i was arguing
[09:02]<+pottsi> hellp
[09:02]<@jacky> pottsi: I think it is normal. I'm the same way.
[09:02]<+pottsi> hello*
[09:02]<@BC_Programming> and management talked to me about it- they said, if you don't get everything done, that's fine
[09:02]<+pottsi> maybe we are abnormal
[09:02]<@jacky> pottsi: point!
[09:02]<@jacky> BC_Programming: talked to you about "it"
[09:02]<@jacky> the incident?
[09:02]<+pottsi> haha
[09:02]<+pottsi> bbiab
[09:03]<@jacky> or you have a history of this stuff?
[09:03]<@BC_Programming> no no
[09:03]<@BC_Programming> about the new "baking" idea, now I basically can't start it right away due to shelf life concerns, so I end up with only two hours to do everything on Sunday morning before the truck arrives
[09:04]<@jacky> ok
[09:04]<Tux2> Ugh...
[09:05]<@BC_Programming> but like I said I left early, mwa haha
[09:06]<@BC_Programming> I hope they enjoyed only having two people during the morning rush
[09:06]<Tux2> Lol!
[09:07]<@jacky> just walked out?
[09:07]<Tux2> Well, at least it was only one person who did it to you...
[09:08]<@BC_Programming> Jacky: yeah, but trust me, I've done far worse... I once told my actual boss to f*** his hat
[09:08]<@BC_Programming> hilarity did not ensue
[09:09]<@BC_Programming> Job security is not something I'm really worried about, if you didn't gather that yet
[09:10]<Tux2> How about two entire departments lying to the big boss and telling him that you didn't help them at all with this new piece of software when actually you spent days worth of time with them showing them everything about the software and making sure they understood it.
[09:11]<@BC_Programming> Tux2: WOW
[09:11]<@BC_Programming> yeah you win :P
[09:11]<@jacky> I've forgotten some of my best stories
[09:12]<Tux2> So yeah, I know how you feel.
[09:12]<@jacky> BC_Programming: if you view your job as basically a sh*tty job, then it is easy to not worry about job security.... you don't have anything to lose! heheheheeh
[09:12]<@BC_Programming> jacky: yep, that's pretty much it
[09:12]<@BC_Programming> getting fired wouldn't be bad, just give me a good reason to find something better
[09:12]<@jacky> (don't ask me how I know. heheheeh)
[09:13]<@BC_Programming> And I never planned on using them for a reference anyway
[09:13]<@jacky> ok... got my phone call
[09:13]<@jacky> time for me to go
[09:13]<@BC_Programming> bye
[09:13]<@jacky> Tux2: I don't think I even said Hi. ..... Hi
[09:13]<@jacky> :)
[09:13]<@jacky> BC_Programming: whatever happens, luck on you
[09:13]<@jacky>
[09:13]<@jacky> bye for now
[09:13] * jacky (the_kink@mib-5FFECE12.slsbmd.east.verizon.net) has left #glitchpc
[09:14]<@BC_Programming> yeah I would have to actually work harder to get myself fired, it's pretty hard, judging by some of the dumbasses they hire
[09:15]<@BC_Programming> the only person I know of them firing was some dumb girl, who for some reason or another cut the tomatoes and then threw them into the sugar bin
[09:15]<Tux2> Just for the record though, one department consisting of two people actually did tell the truth. (you know who your real friends are in that situation)
[09:15]<@BC_Programming> yeah
[09:16]<Tux2> Lol! Who would put tomatoes in the sugar bin!
[09:17]<@BC_Programming> I know!
[09:17]<@BC_Programming> and she would spill donut glaze on the floor
[09:17]<@BC_Programming> and try to sweep it up
[09:17]<Tux2> Mentally handicapped?
[09:17]<@BC_Programming> not from what I know of
[09:18]<@BC_Programming> apparently somebody said "oh she just broke up with her boyfriend"
[09:18]<@BC_Programming> how does that make her stupid?
[09:18]<@BC_Programming> Did he get half her brain in the settlement or something?
[09:20]<Tux2> Lol, I can imagine spilling things and being a but disoriented, but still, that means you need to take the extra effort to make sure you don't do something stupid.
[09:20]<@BC_Programming> the sugar bin was apparently the catch all if she didn't know where something went
[09:20]<@BC_Programming> naturally, during this time, it contained sugar
[09:20]<Tux2> Lol...
[09:21]<@BC_Programming> same happened later with the compost
[09:21]<@BC_Programming> "where does compost go? I'll just throw it in the sugar bin"
[09:21]<Tux2> Ugh, yeah
[09:21]<@BC_Programming> yeah that was fun to fix
[09:23]<Tux2> Moving on to minecraft, I've been pondering the 1.8 update and the major changes it will bring in respect to the server. What are your thoughts on it?
[09:24]<@BC_Programming> I also considered that. I think obviously, we'd have to wait and see, but I can only see it being a positive change
[09:24]<@BC_Programming> there is, I imagine, the problem that it may take some time for bukkit to update, given the number of changes
[09:25]<@BC_Programming> it may obsolete a few bukkit plugins, too :P
[09:25]<Tux2> Yeah , I did post a post on the website too about it.
[09:25]<Tux2> Tux2mc.com
[09:26]<Tux2> I'm not typing everything out again on my cell phone again.
[09:27]<@BC_Programming> :P yeah will respond there
[09:28]<Tux2> lol, yeah.
[09:29]<Tux2> I've been pondering starting a new map come 1.8 and retiring the current one.
[09:30]<@BC_Programming> my idea is posted, basically, create a new map with 1.8, and when bukkit is updated make the current world (that we have now) available via multiverse
[09:31]<@BC_Programming> eventually it will basically fall into disarray and misuse, like Craig's world :P
[09:32]<@BC_Programming> here is a very sad fact, I've now created a signature bar for 13 characters in MLP
[09:37]<Tux2> Lol!
[09:37]<@BC_Programming> they seem quite popular
[09:38]<@BC_Programming> posted them on the MC forum thread about MLP. I kind of felt better when they started asking for characters I had never heard of
[09:38]<@BC_Programming> "oh it's a pony that appeared for like 5 seconds in one episode"
[09:39]<@BC_Programming> I've noticed a trend though, they are all insane
[09:39]<@BC_Programming> the people, I mean
[09:39]<Tux2> What would you say if I said nothing from the old worlds could come into the new one, and that the old maps would be available for download to whomever wanted a copy?
[09:39]<Tux2> Lol....
[09:39]<@BC_Programming> Tux2: hmm, that might work too
[09:39]<@BC_Programming> would be nice to start fresh
[09:39]<@BC_Programming> including all Equipment and so forth
[09:40]<Tux2> Exactly.
[09:40]<@BC_Programming> especially given all the changes
[09:40]<Tux2> Ditto
[09:40]<@BC_Programming> some of them look pretty epic, especially the new mob, ruins, dungeons and stuff
[09:41]<Tux2> I just don't want everyone going: "but my house! Oh, and my diamonds! "
[09:41]<@BC_Programming> well I won't
[09:41]<@BC_Programming> even though I have like 27 blocks of diamond
[09:42]<Tux2> Lol, I knew you wouldn't
[09:42]<Tux2> ;)
[09:43]<Tux2> But I'm not quite sure about the others....
[09:43]<@BC_Programming> that will probably happen though yeah
[09:44]<@BC_Programming> but really 1.8 is like a whole new game, from the sounds of it
[09:44]<@BC_Programming> if we have all the stuff from before, we'd be missing out on the full experience!
[09:44]<@BC_Programming> I mean, those new Enderman mobs might be scarier, but are they scarier with a full suit if diamond armour and tools, or when you have a stone sword and a leather hat?
[09:45]<Tux2> I know. And I think offering the old maps for download would be something I don't think anyone would quibble about. Maybe even sweeten the deal.
[09:46]<@BC_Programming> yeah and if somebody wanted to, they could host that map themselves or something
[09:46]<Tux2> Yup. I just don't want to lose my whole player base just because I decide we are going to a new map
[09:47]<@BC_Programming> well you didn't lose anybody important that I know of from bukkit taking so long to update
[09:47]<@BC_Programming> except I think CSMRhodes, but that's more a good thing
[09:47]<Tux2> Lol, yeah ;)
[09:49]<Tux2> Oh, bc, I've made a real minecraft jar switcher that is better than all those stupid batch files everyone keeps parting
[09:49]<@BC_Programming> sounds useful
[09:49]<Tux2> posting*
[09:50]<@BC_Programming> I kept losing my acheivements and statistics with mine, which was a bit annoying
[09:50] * Tux3 (Tux2@mib-D126B019.hlrn.qwest.net) has joined #glitchpc
[09:51]<Tux2> Lol, it does the same thing with mine, although next version....
[09:51]<Tux3> http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/514289-tool-minecraft-jar-switcher-and-backup-tool-v10/
[09:52] * Tux2 (androirc@mib-D126B019.hlrn.qwest.net) Quit (Quit: AndroIRC - Android IRC Client ( http://www.androirc.com ))
[09:52] * Tux3 is now known as Tux2
[09:57]<Tux2> So, BC_Programming, what do you think of it?
[09:57]<@BC_Programming> seems OK, I may try it at some point, but have no reason to swap between old versions yet :P
[09:58]<Tux2> lol... ;) I just can't use the Aether modded jar file on the server, and I hop on an industrialcraft server from time to time, so it saves me the time of switching jars inside the folder
[09:58]<@BC_Programming> ahhh yeah I can see that
[09:59]<@BC_Programming> weirdly, I don't really have any problems on the server even though I have aether installed
[09:59]<@BC_Programming> well, except with redstone ore and brick, which they seem to have made weaker with the mod for no reason
[09:59]<Tux2> exactly
[09:59]<Tux2> it also does it with obsidian
[10:00]<@BC_Programming> they made obsidian weaker too? I didn't know that
[10:00]<@BC_Programming> probably because I casted my nether portal to get glowstone, hate mining obsidian
[10:00]<Tux2> I tried breaking a portal on the server and it wouldn't break because the client said it broke but the server didn't think so..
[10:01]<Tux2> lol ditto BC_Programming, I casted my portal too in SSP
[10:02]<Tux2> I only noticed it because I had a need to break obsidian in SMP
[10:03]<@BC_Programming> with brick and redstone if you keep the button pressed even after you break it client side it will eventually break server side as well
[10:07]<Tux2> ah...
[10:07]<Tux2> I tried it with obsidian, but I don't think I pressed long enough
[10:08]<Tux2> Oh, is it just me, or do you not have a forum signature for the minecraft forum?
[10:09]<@BC_Programming> I don't afaik
[10:10] * camerongray (camerongra@9BAF817D.64359F97.8368312C.IP) has joined #glitchpc
[10:10] * ChanbotV sets mode: +v camerongray
[10:10]<Tux2> Ah...
[10:10]<Tux2> Hi camerongray :)
[10:11]<+camerongray> Hey, got new PC parts!
[10:11]<@BC_Programming> speaking of people who might complain if you reset the server...
[10:11]<Tux2> lol...
[10:11]<+camerongray> lol = What do you mean by reset?
[10:11]<Tux2> http://tux2mc.com/article.php?story=20110731083342375
[10:12]<Tux2> Oh, BC_Programming, I found the stats file. I think I will save it per jar.
[10:13]<+camerongray> Ahh
[10:14]<+camerongray> What about make a new map but copy over the top of ours as far as the city
[10:15]<+camerongray> Since we have worked really hard on it, I wouldn't like to move that bit
[10:16]<@BC_Programming> Tux2: awesome, that would make the jar switcher 20% cooler
[10:16]<+camerongray> Mental note - Don't try to change fan speed when it is turing, finger goes ouch
[10:16]<@BC_Programming> As far as the server, I say I'm more in support of a totally fresh slate, given all the changes in 1.8
[10:17]<@BC_Programming> it'll be nice to actually have to look for diamonds, rather than just go to my house and grab some of my 27 blocks worth
[10:17]<+camerongray> Can we keep the old map through a portal?
[10:17]<+camerongray> As well as craig's
[10:18]<@BC_Programming> I suggested that myself, but I'm not so sure
[10:18]<+camerongray> But we have all our stuff
[10:18]<@BC_Programming> yeah so do I
[10:20]<@BC_Programming> change is good :P
[10:20]<+camerongray> Really depends how you play MC - Personally I'm not a fan of mining so like having some resource
[10:20]<+camerongray> s
[10:20]<@BC_Programming> 1.8 will be LOADS different, I think
[10:20]<@BC_Programming> I mean, when will the Enderman mob be scarier, when you have full diamond armor and a diamond sword, or when you have a stone sword and a leather hat?
[10:20]<+camerongray> What about making a new map and just transferring the city area over
[10:21]<@BC_Programming> cam: Tux is going to make the current maps available for download... you could always host a server yourself ;)
[10:22]<+camerongray> Nah - I like playing on this server
[10:22]<+camerongray> I'd at least want the tower blocks and my diamonds over
[10:23]<@BC_Programming> HAHA... this exactly what I predicted
[10:23]<@BC_Programming> Oh noes my diamonds
[10:23]<Tux2> I'm thinking of keeping the old world through a multiverse portal, but there would be an inventory switch when you went through it...
[10:24]<@BC_Programming> ahhh that would work, like that idea
[10:24]<Tux2> (at least that is one of my ideas)
[10:24]<@BC_Programming> that reminds me of when I went to mulreays world the other day
[10:24]<@BC_Programming> was looting his chests
[10:24]<+camerongray> I don't like the inventory switch :(
[10:24]<@BC_Programming> "MWA HAHA free obsidian"
[10:24]<@BC_Programming> then I noticed all my stuff was gone
[10:24]<@BC_Programming> NOOO
[10:24]<@BC_Programming> :P
[10:24]<+camerongray> I really want to keep my diamonds - They have gone through a server change
[10:24]<Tux2> lol...
[10:24]<@BC_Programming> "curse you tux2 and your foresight!"
[10:25]<+camerongray> It was a big find for me, would hate to lose them
[10:25]<@BC_Programming> camerongray: so have mine :P I have like 27 blocks of them. farr too much
[10:25]<+camerongray> I have 2 stacks of blocks
[10:25]<+camerongray> And a chest off full stacks
[10:25]<@BC_Programming> HAX!
[10:25]<+camerongray> lol - PYRAMID!
[10:25]<@BC_Programming> I found a pyramid too on Craigs server
[10:25]<@BC_Programming> but it was filled with ore...
[10:26]<+camerongray> Ahh
[10:26]<+camerongray> What do you think Tux? Old maps with no inventory switch
[10:26]<@BC_Programming> also I think I took some of the diamonds we haxed in when we build that glass dome thing. imbezzlement FTW
[10:27]<+camerongray> Or at least copy the diamonds to the new map
[10:27]<+camerongray> lol
[10:27]<@BC_Programming> I think it is sort of unfair that we would have all this stuff to start with
[10:27]<+camerongray> I see what you mean but it was a big prize
[10:28]<@BC_Programming> oh I know where I got most of my diamonds, the desert
[10:28]<+camerongray> I'm not a fan of starting with nothing - I like building rather than mining
[10:29]<@BC_Programming> so, we get to start with a crapload of diamonds and diamond armor sets, while somebody new to this otherwise fresh server has nothing? Seems a bit unfair. Also, I think it would ruin some of the charm of 1.8
[10:30]<+camerongray> :(
[10:31]<+camerongray> I don't want to sound like CSM but I think that it would really discourage me from playing Minecraft
[10:31]<Tux2> How about a creative world and a survival world with switching inventories, both with new maps, but with the one having the main buildings and houses moved over?
[10:31]<@BC_Programming> I like that idea
[10:31]<+camerongray> What about regenerating both maps and copying buildins over?
[10:32]<@BC_Programming> lol he just suggested that
[10:32]<Tux2> I don't have the original seed from the map. :(
[10:32]<+camerongray> Can't you get it
[10:32]<+camerongray> I'm sure there is a mod for it
[10:32]<Tux2> Oh I have the current seed, but the original one is lost with time and a few server resets...
[10:33]<+camerongray> Ahh, can't we use the current one?
[10:33]<+camerongray> It's just that I've spent so much time on all the stuff, I'd hate to lose itall
[10:33]<Tux2> I was just going to use a random seed for both...
[10:34]<@BC_Programming> cam: how would you lose anything if he used a different seed?
[10:34]<Tux2> then copy all of our buildings into the creative world.
[10:34]<+camerongray> Ahh, buildings would be fine
[10:34]<Tux2> Also, all the old maps would be available to download.
[10:34]<+camerongray> LIke copy the city as it is
[10:34]<+camerongray> ?
[10:34]<Tux2> Yup.
[10:34]<+camerongray> Cool
[10:35]<+camerongray> And my house from Craig's - I like that one
[10:35]<Tux2> That can always be done. :)
[10:35]<+camerongray> Cool
[10:35]<+camerongray> ORRRR
[10:36]<+camerongray> Craig's map as it is with no inventory switch between it and the creative world but a switch between it and the survival world?
[10:36]<@BC_Programming> *insert facepalm image*
[10:36]<Tux2> That would work
[10:36]<+camerongray> lol
[10:36]<+camerongray> What would the difference be between the survival one and the creative one?
[10:37]<Tux2> Creative one = all your stuff + limited spawn capabilities. Survival one = start fresh + no spawn capabilities.
[10:38]<Tux2> I'm thinking of separating the server into three distinct worlds: Creative world, survival, and a game world.
[10:42]<+camerongray> Game world being a challenge map?
[10:43]<+camerongray> I like that idea, the people that like building can be on one map and the people that like adventure on the other
[10:43]<+camerongray> Wow - I typed that while watching tv while completely turned away from the PC
[10:43]<@BC_Programming> I suddenly realized this 1.8 update stuff for the server was not as simple as I thought
[10:45]<Tux2> lol, what do you mean BC_Programming?
[10:45]<@BC_Programming> well I figured it would be "ok, it'll be reset and you gais can download the map"
[10:46]<Tux2> lol, exactly
[10:50]<+camerongray> lol - I just think that there are some people that like building and have lots of things they are proud of and others who like the adventure stuff
[10:52]<Tux2> Yeah, that's why I had the original idea of having the map available for download...
[10:53]<Tux2> Also, game world being more like: "All the games that the players can enjoy are on this map, including mob arena, battleship, capture the flag, maze games, etc."
[10:54]<@BC_Programming> there's CTF?
[10:54]<Tux2> Yup
[10:54]<Tux2> It uses gold and iron blocks as the flags
[10:54]<@BC_Programming> I had no idea, only knew about the maze and mob arena
[10:55]<Tux2> Oh, and I can't forget tetris

[10:58]<Tux2> Yeah
[10:58]<Tux2> http://tux2mc.com/article.php?story=20110731083342375
[10:59]<+camerongray> We're currently thinking of 2 maps, one creative one with the current buildings and limited spawn capabilities and another survival one
[11:10]<Tux2> Oh, BC_Programming, did you see what OS I used to take the screenshot of the program with?
[11:11]<@BC_Programming> heh wasn't looking
[11:11]<@BC_Programming> ahh looks like mac OS
[11:11]<@BC_Programming> OSX*
[11:11]<@BC_Programming> but you might be using emerald :P
[11:12]<Tux2> lol, yeah, I'm using a MAC VM for screenshots now. It makes my programs look 10x better

[12:36]<+Mulreay> Good stuff Tux2, I think it's a really great tool.
[12:37]<@BC_Programming> completely random
[12:37]<@BC_Programming> but
[12:38]<@BC_Programming> Even I think this is getting out of hand... EVERYWHERE there are people using pony avatars and pony images
[12:39]<+Mulreay> It's become a tad unnerving
[12:39]<@BC_Programming> only place that is safe from ponies is CH it seems
[12:39]<+Mulreay> heh, for now.. dun dun dunnnn
[12:40]<+Mulreay> Not seen any ponies on my site actually now I come to think of it
[12:42]<+Mulreay> On another side note I downloaded every game for the NES and Master System, been playing some really odd games
[12:42]<@BC_Programming> yeah good times
[12:42]<+Mulreay> Not sure if it was called master system for you guys actually
[12:43]<@BC_Programming> I think so
[12:44]<+Mulreay> The EMU I have actually works across most of the old SEGA systems.. may get some other ROM's
[12:50]<@BC_Programming> heh... CH and your site may not have ponies now
