[12:08]<Tux2> Nice!
[12:08] * Tux2 got a free copy of portal. :)
[12:08]<@BC_Programming> portal or portal 2?
[12:09] * camerongray (camerongra@mib-1A6B7EF9.rb3.adsl.brightview.com) Quit (Quit: I'll be back later)
[12:09]<Tux2> The original.
[12:09]<@BC_Programming> ahh yes that's a fine game it is
[12:10]<Tux2> I had a friend who had an extra copy and they told their FB friends that whoever wanted it to come forward and post their steam ID.... Well, no one did, so next time he posted that he still had it I decided to go for it.
[12:10]<@BC_Programming> why not
[12:13]<@BC_Programming> woah iy's thursday already
[12:14]<@BC_Programming> I think I just spent a straight day and a half playing minecraft almost
[12:14]<@BC_Programming> I know Craig,Mulreay, and I were all skyping and playing online, that ruled
[12:17]<+Craig> :)
[12:17]<@BC_Programming> then my internet died suddenly
[12:17]<@BC_Programming> and I decided it was time for bed anyways :P
[12:17]<+Craig> Yeah me too
[12:18]<+Craig> did you get my skype message?
[12:18] * Mulreay (mulreay@mib-10E4E6F.cable.virginmedia.com) has joined #glitchpc
[12:18]<@BC_Programming> hmm, no can't seem to login to skype now
[12:18]<Mulreay> darn
[12:18] * ChanbotIV sets mode: +v Mulreay
[12:18]<+Mulreay> was going to try and seamlisly join the conversation
[12:19]<@BC_Programming> heh
[12:21]<Tux2> I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't some gamer that he knew that really wanted it...lol
[12:21]<Tux2> OOps... I forgot that I had that message typed in there...
[12:21]<Tux2> Someone came into the office...
[12:21]<@BC_Programming> a true gamer would already have portal though
[12:21]<+Craig> :P
[12:22]<Tux2> lol, probably.
[12:23]<+Mulreay> My computer crashed this morning so that's why I did not say bye Craig, BC_Programming... wasn't being rude, plus it was 12hrs past my bedtime :p
[12:23]<+Craig> No worries,
[12:23]<@BC_Programming> heh my internet cut out entirely
[12:23]<+Craig> BC and I parted when his connection cut off. :p
[12:23]<+Mulreay> I was running a windows update and everything just hanged..
[12:23]<@BC_Programming> wouldn't that be "hung"?
[12:24]<+Mulreay> true dat
[12:25]<Tux2> lol, I'm booting a computer off of a Ubuntu 5.04 live cd.... That's a blast from the past...
[12:25]<@BC_Programming> wow that's an oldie
[12:26]<Tux2> lol, I know, the computer didn't like Ubuntu 10.10
[12:26]<+Mulreay> BC_Programming have you seen the new 'zero punctuation' video? (Mindjack)
[12:27]<+Mulreay> you is on skype
[12:27]<@BC_Programming> I is
[12:27]<@BC_Programming> ahh yes was just going to watch the new video
[12:27]<@BC_Programming> but first http://bc-programming.com/misc/sss.ogg
[12:27]<+Mulreay> It's a funny one
[12:28]<@BC_Programming> I was bored... so I made that
[12:28]<+Mulreay> awesome
[12:28]<@BC_Programming> no doubt you recognize it
[12:29]<+Mulreay> never thought of queen songs
[12:38]<+Craig> There I have updated all the warnings, so now the server will warn properly, and restart at 5:30 am
[12:39]<@BC_Programming> cool
[12:39]<+Mulreay> so no more late night adventures
[12:39]<+Craig> Oh, we can do late night adventures,
[12:39]<+Mulreay> heh
[12:39]<+Craig> its just that the server will restart about 1.5 hours later than it was before.
[12:41]<+Mulreay> cool

[15:47]<@BC_Programming> oooh
[15:47]<@BC_Programming> I didn't know there was teh third family guy star wars out yet
[15:47]<+Mulreay> really?
[15:47]<@BC_Programming> yeah "It's a Trap" it's called
[15:47]<+Mulreay> ohhh exciting
[15:48]<+Mulreay> And that was not sarcasm
[15:48]<@BC_Programming> yeah I realized I only have the first 6 seasons on DVD, and I never watch the show so I was searching on good ol TPB
[15:48]<+Mulreay> sadly enough
[15:48]<@BC_Programming> by which I mean- I never watch the show on TV
[15:48]<+Mulreay> cool
[15:48]<@BC_Programming> and that came up and I was all "what is this"
[15:48]<+Mulreay> Two episodesa a night here on good old blighty TV
[15:48]<@BC_Programming> yeah it's on TV here.... I just don't watch TV
[15:49]<@BC_Programming> which is interesting because I could just wire up my TV tuner
[15:49]<+Mulreay> I don't watch it but I like to have it on in the background... I did spend ?800 on a TV so shame to use it as a paper weight
[15:49]<@BC_Programming> oh you're one of those
[15:50]<@BC_Programming> I simply cannot stand TV on as "background sound" drives me crazy
[15:50]<@BC_Programming> like people who need to TV on to sleep, lol
[15:50]<+Mulreay> That's just weird
[15:50]<+Mulreay> I need utter silence to sleep, even my laptops fan gets on my nerves sometimes whilst dozing
[15:51]<+Mulreay> Kicked a couple of girlfriends out of bed before for snoring, especially Vicki... man she could snore when she was drunk
[15:52]<@BC_Programming> Sail away sweet sister came out damn good in FLStudio
[15:52]<@BC_Programming> sounds weird without lyrics though
[15:54]<+Mulreay> Don't know the song....I don't think
[15:54]<@BC_Programming> GASP
[15:54]<+Mulreay> But I do have a HUGE bag of cheese Doritoes staring at me across the room
[15:54]<@BC_Programming> doritos have eyes?
[15:55]<@BC_Programming> Mulreay: that was the song I linked you earlier btw
[15:55]<+Mulreay> These do... may be its just the ketamine
[15:55]<@BC_Programming> was going to do Hammer To Fall next
[15:55]<+Mulreay> Hammer to fall would be AWESOMe
[15:55]<+Mulreay> E*
[15:55]<+Mulreay> But them again it'sin my top 3 songs... so may judge you harshly
[15:56]<+Mulreay> then*
[15:56]<+Mulreay> Mmm turns off TV, starts iTunes and opens all his Queen albums
[15:57]<@BC_Programming> heh
[15:59]<+Mulreay> What is your favourite Queen song anyway? Think we had this conversation a LONG time ago when we first started chatting on here... 2 - 2.5 yrs ago or something and neither of us could decide
[15:59]<@BC_Programming> can't decide
[15:59]<@BC_Programming> lots of them
[15:59]<+Mulreay> heh
[16:00]<+Mulreay> haha just remembered why I remembered that Quen chat
[16:00]<+Mulreay> Queen*
[16:01]<+Mulreay> This may sound strange
[16:01]<@BC_Programming> I have one day two hours of just queen music
[16:01]<+Mulreay> I seemed to have lost Greatest hits 1
[16:02]<@BC_Programming> I seem to have Greatest Hits 1 through 3 twice... Greatest Hits 1 through 3, as well as Greatest Hits I through III
[16:03]<@BC_Programming> not sure if I ripped different discs or what
[16:03]<@BC_Programming> oo... I know what it was, I ripped my three CDs and also downloaded the discography
[16:03]<+Mulreay> But anyway, it was the first time I talked to you with no one else here... was a bit worried.. the infamous BC and all that... hehe how things change when you get to know people... I was really intimidated by you.. heh
[16:04]<@BC_Programming> LOL
[16:04]<+Mulreay> But then again back then I thought you were some sort of 40yr old mastermind... how my heart sank when I found out the truth :p
[16:05]<@BC_Programming> lol
[16:05]<+Mulreay> heh
[16:05]<@BC_Programming> first line of my logfile: Session Start: Sun Jun 14 11:07:22 2009
[16:05]<@BC_Programming> dat's old
[16:05] * sonicrules1234 (sonicrules@mib-6494DB2B.lsanca.dsl-w.verizon.net) Quit (Quit: Leaving)
[16:05]<+Mulreay> wow
[16:05]<+Mulreay> checking...
[16:07]<+Mulreay> No dates on mine, but the log file is 10.6mb... that's a fair text file
[16:08]<@BC_Programming> 12.1MB for me

[16:09]<+Mulreay> [23:30] <Craig> How's it going now?
[16:09]<+Mulreay> [23:31] <Craig> Hi Mulreay, as well,
[16:09]<+Mulreay> [23:31] <Mulreay> Craig: hiya
[16:09]<+Mulreay> [23:32] <Mulreay> How are you?
[16:09]<+Mulreay> [23:32] <@jacky_away> be back later... something came up.. sorry
[16:09]<+Mulreay> [23:32] <Craig> DOing great
[16:09]<+Mulreay> [23:32] <Craig> no worries
[16:09]<+Mulreay> [23:32] <Mulreay> 435/500 come on!!
[16:09]<+Mulreay> [23:33] <Craig> Hey Mulreay, if there is only one thing about Win7 I dont like, its very simple... The tray icons that open and represent open tasks, are way to simple to click the wrong program... :P
[16:09]<+Mulreay> [23:33] <Craig> ? On what?
[16:09]<+Mulreay> [23:33] <Mulreay> F&H
[16:09]<+Mulreay> [23:33] <Craig> Oh, hahaha
[16:09]<+Mulreay> No idea why that is the beginning of my log
[16:10]<@BC_Programming> F&H ahh those were good old days
[16:11]<+Mulreay> yeah was thinking that, and lol at me getting excited about it
[16:12]<+Mulreay> 'Princes of the Universe' One of my favourites... just started
[16:12]<@BC_Programming> I have more NSF and RSN music files then I do "normal" music...
[16:12]<@BC_Programming> ahh yes one of my favourites as well
[16:13]<+Mulreay> Doubt you could pull that one off
[16:14]<@BC_Programming> I could try
[16:14]<+Mulreay> mmm I don't know
[16:15]<+Mulreay> have a go, though by all means, love hearing the variations
[16:17]<+Mulreay> 'It's a beautiful day' now
[16:19]<+Craig> I still have 5 slimes traped in my waterfall in the PIT OF DOOM!
[16:19]<@BC_Programming> cool
[16:19]<+Craig> I think I meant Trapped.
[16:20]<+Mulreay> heh

[17:21]<Mulreay_reinstall> howdy
[17:22]<Mulreay_reinstall> ok gonna re-install windows on my main laptop... what should I save?
[17:23]<Mulreay_reinstall> OK that's good to know
[17:30]<@BC_Programming> anything you want to keep
[17:30]<+Craig> ??
[17:30]<+Craig> You could back it up to the server as well, if you like.
[17:32]<Mulreay_reinstall> not sure, don't want to keep trash so thinking minecraft, all my photos/music etc is backing up now,,, I'm thinking of program Dll's
[17:32]<Mulreay_reinstall> All my backups are going to my external
[17:32]<+Craig> Ahh,
[17:34]<Mulreay_reinstall> I'm about to lose LOTS of stuff... so its damage limitation
[17:34]<+Craig> Why loose it? Could you not back it up?
[17:34]<Mulreay_reinstall> I'm trying but manuallyu
[17:35]<Mulreay_reinstall> PS chatting on my other laptop here, whilst I copy loads of stuff to the external
[17:35]<Mulreay_reinstall> 10.2gb music to start
[17:36]<@BC_Programming> wait what are you reinstalling? and are you reinstalling or are you "recovering" using a restore disc?
[17:37]<Mulreay_reinstall> It's a recovery disk, but you have the option to 're-install' windows
[17:37]<Mulreay_reinstall> The disk is obviously a HDD disk
[17:39]<Mulreay_reinstall> I tried phoning Craig before and it hung my computer.. gonna just back up what I can and start again... but I fear for my laptops life
[17:39]<@BC_Programming> in other news, I think my SNES's PPU is failing
[17:40]<Mulreay_reinstall> You gonna be OK?
[17:40]<@BC_Programming> heh
[17:40]<@BC_Programming> well I'm not sure, might just be dirty cartridges/contacts
[17:40]<+Craig> ahh
[17:41]<@BC_Programming> right now I just occasionally see missing pieces of sprites and text
[17:41]<@BC_Programming> for example the damage numbers that appear when a character takes damage in SMRPG or Chrono Trigger
[17:41]<Mulreay_reinstall> I have missing peices of 'working'
[17:42]<Mulreay_reinstall> This 10.1gb of music is taking for ever
[17:43]<Mulreay_reinstall> Wish it had 2.0USB... may be it does.. but never looked
[17:43]<+Craig> If your on XP its a bit slow with lots of smaller files, :S
[17:44]<Mulreay_reinstall> This laptop is XP the one were talking about is VISTA
[17:45]<Mulreay_reinstall> I'm gonna be happy to just start again.. it's been about 3yrs..
[17:45]<@BC_Programming> Probably does. USB 1.1 was really more win98 ME if I recall
[17:45]<@BC_Programming> have USB 2 I mean
[17:46]<Mulreay_reinstall> It always likes to kick me in the face 'this could work faster'
[17:46]<Mulreay_reinstall> Never tells me a USB port
[17:46]<@BC_Programming> oh... hmm, that might mean it is 1.1
[17:47]<Mulreay_reinstall> 'This could work faster' with a 'better PC'
[17:47]<@BC_Programming> I don't know... I have a laptop that runs windows 98, and one that ones windows 7, don't really have one with specs in between.
[17:48]<Mulreay_reinstall> Only 12mins left on the music... it was 8mins ago 4mins ago.. so atleast windows is working
[17:49]<Mulreay_reinstall> Just thinking of what I need to re-install, I have a pad and pen for the list
[17:50]<@BC_Programming> I never really care when I reinstall... I just make sure I have all of my stuff- the stuff I couldn't replace no matter what
[17:50]<@BC_Programming> then after the reinstall I realize just how much customization I did to the OS
[17:51]<Mulreay_reinstall> yeah, Im listing what I want
[17:52]<Mulreay_reinstall> Wilkl force a windows re-install
[17:53]<Mulreay_reinstall> *
[17:53]<Mulreay_reinstall> That took ages to find on the random DELL keyboard
[17:54]<@BC_Programming> the asterisk?
[17:54]<Mulreay_reinstall> wikl
[17:55]<Mulreay_reinstall> 3mins left
[17:58]<Mulreay_reinstall> ok everything I 'think' is backed up
[17:58]<@BC_Programming> couldn't you image the drive or something too
[17:59]<Mulreay_reinstall> yeah but would that not present the same issues
[17:59]<@BC_Programming> what issues?
[17:59]<@BC_Programming> I mean for a backup... if you forgot to copy something then you would be able to grab it from the image
[17:59]<Mulreay_reinstall> If it's an image then it will behave like the drive so it will keep crashing
[18:01]<@BC_Programming> if the drive is bad/failing then a Windows reinstall won't fix anything... I mean make an image of the drive as it is <now> and save that and then if you realize you forgot to copy something before you formatted you can take it from the image
[18:01]<@BC_Programming> Images aren't drives; they only hold the data, they don't "emulate" the disk's physical properties or something
[18:02]<Mulreay_reinstall> ok
[18:02]<Mulreay_reinstall> Started 'Reflect'
[18:08]<Mulreay_reinstall> balls to it, i dont want to emulate the drive as it crashes... will try a new install
[18:08]<@BC_Programming> emulate the drive?
[18:09]<Mulreay_reinstall> No I have the option to re-install, if I force a hard boot
[18:09]<Mulreay_reinstall> I've backed up lots... bored with crashing
[18:10]<Mulreay_reinstall> Will probably kick me in the ass
[18:11]<Mulreay_reinstall> Starting a NEW windows instyall
[18:12]<Mulreay_reinstall> oops forgot to remove some external drives
[18:17]<Mulreay_reinstall> any idea how I force an install?
[18:17]<+Craig> Depends on the disk
[18:18]<+Craig> If it can even do a install.
[18:20]<+Craig> Red Dwarf FTW
[18:20]<Mulreay_reinstall> lol
[18:20]<@BC_Programming> huh?
[18:21]<Mulreay_reinstall> Red Dwarf shoud never played with.. it is the greatest show on earth
[18:24]<Mulreay_reinstall> I'm trying to crash my laptop... there irony for you
[18:30]<Mulreay_reinstall> OK decided to remove EVERYTHING.. I can't stand it any more
[18:31]<Mulreay_reinstall> I backed up what I care about
[18:32]<Mulreay_reinstall> 'FULL DESTRUCTIVE RECOVERY IN PROGRESS....
[18:33]<Mulreay_reinstall> I may cry at the end of this
[18:34]<Mulreay_reinstall> After 4yrs I think it needs it
[18:35]<@BC_Programming> I thought that was the point of the backup, was because you were "forcing a install"?
[18:37]<Mulreay_reinstall> yeah I was ... 'forcing an install'? I just want my shed of a comp back to norm...
[18:37]<Mulreay_reinstall> I can't stand stalling for no reason
[18:38]<Mulreay_reinstall> Kinda regrettibg this
[18:39]<Mulreay_reinstall> regretting
[18:40]<Mulreay_reinstall> OK it's finished
[18:40]<@BC_Programming> that was fast
[18:40]<Mulreay_reinstall> Yeah, bit too fast
[18:41]<Mulreay_reinstall> Oh ok we have the 'please wait bwhilst windows starts for the first time
[18:43]<Mulreay_reinstall> WOW
[18:44]<@BC_Programming> is that a good WOW or a bad WOW
[18:44]<Mulreay_reinstall> good
[18:44]<@BC_Programming> faster I take it?
[18:45]<Mulreay_reinstall> not just that, but yeah
[18:47]<Mulreay_reinstall> This may soundf strange but ages ago I said to a guy on some phone call that my screen looked worse than before...he was all 'yeah whatever'... heh My screen is SO much better
[18:48]<@BC_Programming> maybe different resolution or driver or something

[18:49]<Mulreay_reinstall> I should have done this 4yrs ago
[18:49]<Mulreay_reinstall> The res...is so much better
[18:50]<@BC_Programming> oh and I didn't record any of or adventure yesterday
[18:51]<@BC_Programming> still have to cut the 40 minutes I recorded when we adventured into the caves that first time
[18:51]<Mulreay_reinstall> darn
[18:51]<@BC_Programming> I was more worried about disk space really
[18:51]<@BC_Programming> I "only" have 326GB left
[18:51]<Mulreay_reinstall> That would have been cool,
[18:52]<@BC_Programming> Oh yeah I remember the main reason... I wouldn't have been able to record with the window maximized and I prefer to play that way, heh
[18:52]<Mulreay_reinstall> ahh ok
[18:52]<Mulreay_reinstall> may be craig can next time
[18:53]<@BC_Programming> well his machine isn't that much more powerful then mine, to my understanding
[18:53]<Mulreay_reinstall> I'm thinking more along the lines of the willing to record
[18:54]<@BC_Programming> ahh
[18:54]<@BC_Programming> oh yeah and next time I'll have to wear headphones so everybody else isn't echo-y heh
[18:54]<Mulreay_reinstall> OHHH my GOD you should see my nmew desktop
[18:55]<@BC_Programming> imagebin it and I will :P
[18:55]<Mulreay_reinstall> Not sure if I can, will try

[18:59]<@BC_Programming> may run MC better
[19:00]<Mulreay_reinstall> It is running much faster
[19:00]<Mulreay_reinstall> Just need to add my music
[19:01]<@BC_Programming> I want to work on my Gameboy emulator but I just can't wrap my head around emulation anymore
[19:03]<Mulreay_reinstall> @BC you have the ability, but you seem to lack the drive
[19:03]<@BC_Programming> yes I did have a sort of working VB6 NES emu
[19:04]<@BC_Programming> I guess I just have no good reason to write a GB emulator, since there are already a bajillion of them
[19:04]<Mulreay_reinstall> but you lack the drive to make it happen
[19:05]<+Craig> Why not just link your music folder to the back up on the external drive?
[19:05]<@BC_Programming> because then he'll need the external connected to play music
[19:06]<+Craig> right
[19:06]<Mulreay_reinstall> I have noe completely re-installed... this should be fun
[19:06]<Mulreay_reinstall> now

[22:12]<Guest46510> I need to cry without tears and and I want a tortoise that has no shell, but it is hard as fook
[22:12]<@BC_Programming> um
[22:12]<@BC_Programming> ok
[22:13]<@BC_Programming> never heard of those programs
[22:13]<@BC_Programming> heh
[22:13]<Guest46510> heh
[22:13]<Guest46510> You shuls see my RES now... wow it's like I just bought the laptop
[22:13]<Guest46510> should*
[22:14]<@BC_Programming> that just means you had it set wrong before... or didn't have the right driver or something
[22:14]<Guest46510> I knew that tool at 'tech guy's' was full of shite
[22:14]<@BC_Programming> what did he say?
[22:15]<Guest46510> He made me change my display, that was 4yrs ago.... and it looks awesome now... gonna go and find him
[22:16]<@BC_Programming> woah what did he get you do to? change the driver or something?
[22:16]<Guest46510> No he got me to uninstall my drivers...
[22:16]<@BC_Programming> oh wow
[22:17]<@BC_Programming> and this guy is supposed to know what he's doing I would imagine... needless to say he doesn't
[22:17]<@BC_Programming> heh... although You've discovered that

[22:18]<Mulreay> Just had to Chanserv password stuff
[22:18]<Tux2> Nice. :D
[22:18]<Mulreay> That guy deserves my boot
[22:19]<@BC_Programming> lol for a second I thought were meant chanserv
[22:19]<Mulreay> heh
[22:19]<+Craig> I like Comodo more then Avast
[22:19]<@BC_Programming> Now that's a delayed response, lol
[22:20]<Tux2> lol Craig :)
[22:20]<Tux2> Comodo is too noisy for most casual users...
[22:20]<Tux2> I find that they keep calling me all the time when I install comodo on their computers...
[22:21]<+Craig> I was out for coffee with my lady,
[22:21]<+Craig> :)
[22:21]<Mulreay> If I think back, and the pain I followed up with... then the pain of being shown how little I know at CH, and the learning and then the laughing, and the extra learning... I would still find the tool, and laugh in his face as I smite him.. cock feckin whit
[22:21]<+Craig> Yeah, true it is noisy, but you can say it works very well!
[22:22]<Tux2> Exacty Craig :D
[22:22]<+Craig> hahaha harsh! :P Hope you see him sometime there Mulreay, they need a good whipping once in a while, get their arrogance back down.
[22:22]<Tux2> It's just that I don't have enough time on my hands to answer 50 calls a day on whether they need to block or allow something...
[22:23]<Mulreay> Craig: If you could see my laptop now, you would agree...
[22:24]<Mulreay> I should download MC
[22:25]<@BC_Programming> well... Tux2 you could just use an answering machine, lol
[22:25]<Tux2> lol!
[22:25]<Tux2> Then I would have to go through 50 messages a day...
[22:26]<@BC_Programming> ahh but you change the little answering machine message they hear to say something like "if Comodo is asking you to allow or block something, read the message"
[22:26]<@BC_Programming> I've noticed people don't like reading any messages
[22:26]<@BC_Programming> the dialog can say exactly what is wrong, and exactly what they should do to fix it
[22:26]<@BC_Programming> and they ask "It says I need to do X! What do I do?"
[22:27]<@BC_Programming> "X"
[22:27]<Mulreay> needed to re-install java
[22:35]<Tux2> be back later... trying out my new game. :D
[22:37]<Mulreay> I lost my single player gane in MC
[22:38]<Mulreay> never mind
