[06:26]<+Mulreay> My new headphones are awweeessooommmmme
[06:26]<@BC_Programming> cool
[06:26]<+Mulreay> Basey as hell and very loud
[06:26]<+Mulreay> plus true stereo sound
[06:27]<+Mulreay> and hello BC_Programming
[06:28]<+Mulreay> Loved your new video BC_Programming, the ending had me laughing
[06:28]<@BC_Programming> yeah I thought that was hilarious
[06:28]<+Mulreay> Very funny
[06:29]<@BC_Programming> I wanted to make it last like 2 full minutes of that
[06:29]<@BC_Programming> but I ran out of positions
[06:29]<+Mulreay> heh
[06:29]<+Mulreay> Make some up
[06:29]<@BC_Programming> your new vegas problem was mentioned heh
[06:30]<+Mulreay> Mmm don't remember that bit
[06:30]<+Mulreay> must of missed it
[06:31]<@BC_Programming> and "What do you think Commander Data?"
[06:31]<@BC_Programming> he's speechless
[06:31]<@BC_Programming> heh
[06:31]<+Mulreay> lol yeah I liked that bit
[06:32]<@BC_Programming> that was probably the most involved video I've made, excepting maybe my flash ones
[06:32]<+Mulreay> yeah
[06:33]<@BC_Programming> the video itself was made with a cam obviously, then I used a program to separate the audio and video, and applies some filters with Audacity on the audio stream, reintegrated the two, cut out some of the original, and then I used Camtasia studio to add some of the title stuff, and used flash for the scrolling credits
[06:34]<+Mulreay> you were right about the ps3 blu-ray disks for games
[06:34]<@BC_Programming> yeah wasn't totally sure about that
[06:34]<+Mulreay> Lot of work
[06:34]<@BC_Programming> but I do know that the gamecube disks are totally F'd up
[06:34]<@BC_Programming> like they literally spin backwards from any other disk
[06:34]<+Mulreay> heh
[06:35]<@BC_Programming> and of course the fact that they call it a cube, when it clearly is not
[06:36]<+Mulreay> yeah liked that, so true
[06:36]<@BC_Programming> and all the purple
[06:36]<@BC_Programming> and giving the captain falcon character a scarf
[06:37]<+Mulreay> heh
[06:37]<@BC_Programming> the Xbox was black- the PS2 was black by default... and the gamecube, was purple
[06:38]<@BC_Programming> hmm can't figure out why it wasn't as popular overall
[06:38]<+Mulreay> Just re-found the vegas reference... must of been when I was writing a text on my phone and was'nt paying attention because I remember everything before and after :p
[06:38]<@BC_Programming> heh
[06:39]<@BC_Programming> yeah it was something like "it makes his PS3 explode pretty much whenever he goes in a door... and then of course it autosaves so when he loads his save it explodes in his face again"
[06:39]<+Mulreay> yeah, very true and annoying
[06:39]<@BC_Programming> meanwhile I plugged in and removed the GC memory card for no reason heh
[06:40]<@BC_Programming> "I'll just don my "gaming gloves"" lol
[06:40]<+Mulreay> I thought you had more consoles than that
[06:40]<@BC_Programming> no just those two
[06:40]<@BC_Programming> rest is emulation
[06:40]<+Mulreay> k must be thinking of emu's
[06:40]<@BC_Programming> heh
[06:40]<+Mulreay> yeah
[06:46]<@BC_Programming> I thought the thing about how SNES games never came with a holder was interesting as well
[06:46]<@BC_Programming> basically they were just a game and manual in a completely disposable box
[06:47]<+Mulreay> yeah bit lame that
[06:48]<@BC_Programming> the genesis from what I've seen in other videos actually had a pretty cool case that was used to hold the game
[06:49]<+Mulreay> never seen one
[06:50]<@BC_Programming> it's called a "Sega megadrive" in the UK, I think
[06:51]<+Mulreay> ahhh indeed it was
[06:51]<+Mulreay> my mate had one
[06:53] * Kryptix (jamez@B48EE33A.B8049696.DFE60713.IP) has joined #glitchpc
[06:55] * Kryptix (jamez@B48EE33A.B8049696.DFE60713.IP) has left #glitchpc
[06:55]<+Mulreay> later kryptix
[06:56]<@BC_Programming> I'm going to miss him
[06:56]<+Mulreay> Me too, he was such a lovely fellow
[07:12]<+Mulreay> Mmm just found another bug in this game, it said 'level up' as it does but then did not go into upgrades etc.. had to respawn at the previous spawn point and re-do that bit... worked this time
[07:12]<@BC_Programming> that happens in the PC version too, I thought it was by design
[07:13]<@BC_Programming> actually, no I didn't, I was baffled
[07:13]<@BC_Programming> It randomly appeared a few minutes later if I recall
[07:14]<+Mulreay> should of just stuck with it... it's was only like 2mins re-work so not bad
[07:14]<+Mulreay> it*
[07:14]<@BC_Programming> It always showed up... eventually... for me
[07:14]<@BC_Programming> even after I installed the cap raising mod so I could level up beyond the level cap in Fallout 3
[07:16]<+Mulreay> Why whats the cap level?
[07:17]<@BC_Programming> for fallout3 I think it was level 30, not sure
[07:17]<+Mulreay> Yeah think it's the same on new vegas actually
[07:17]<+Mulreay> I'm already at level 23
[07:18]<@BC_Programming> I think Fallout3 was original limited to 20, until the "official" mods. Brotherhood of steel... The pitt... err, the mothership zeta thing, etc
[07:21]<+Mulreay> ooohh just noticed I have over 7 thoussand caps... shopping time.. plus both rex and me are loaded up with some much crap to sell
[07:21]<@BC_Programming> yay selling things
[07:21]<@BC_Programming> I may fire it up again for old times sake
[07:24]<+Mulreay> Heh I just spent 3500 with the brotherhood of steels shop then sold them back there own armour I was collecting on my quest to find the missing troops for them for 4200... all good
[07:25]<+Mulreay> There's a lot of naked dead bodies out there
[08:01]<+Mulreay> http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_110099&v=VFZKtvHQSNY&feature=iv
[08:01]<+Mulreay> haha awesome bomb.. the aftermath is epic

[08:33]<+camerongray> hey jacky
[08:33]<@jacky> camerongray: Howdy :)
[08:34]<@jacky> BC_Programming: let me know when you are around, live
[08:34]<@jacky> :)
[08:34]<@BC_Programming> I am here
[08:34]<@jacky> tried Mint
[08:34]<@jacky> yesterday
[08:34]<@jacky> no sound
[08:34]<+camerongray> jacky: Did you hear the good news?
[08:34]<@jacky> but.. to be honest, I'd have to reload it again, to see what I can see
[08:35]<@jacky> camerongray: I guess not. fill me in
[08:35]<+camerongray> Steve is back!
[08:35]<+Mulreay> ooohh it's a party
[08:35]<@jacky> camerongray: I spoke to glitchpc here, the other day. :)
[08:35]<@BC_Programming> cam: yes, Glitch was in yesterday when we were trying to figure out Jacky's sound issue
[08:35]<@jacky> Mulreay: Hello
[08:35]<+camerongray> ahh - lol
[08:35]<@BC_Programming> no not yesterday
[08:35]<+Mulreay> hey jacky
[08:35]<@BC_Programming> day before, my mistake
[08:35]<@jacky> BC_Programming: that's why camerongray's other nickname is "Lightning", he's soooo fast
[08:35]<@jacky> hehehe
[08:36]<+Mulreay> lol
[08:37]<@jacky> BC_Programming: more strangeness to add to it: somebody emailed me some little thing.. humorous video clip... playing it with VLC, with volume in VLC waaaay up, I can hear it!
[08:37]<@jacky> this was not true of another video clip
[08:37]<@jacky> with Windows, neither could be heard
[08:37]<@jacky> err..
[08:37]<@jacky> With Windows media player or whatever it was...
[08:38]<@jacky> I didn't try VLC in linux, if there is such a thing.
[08:38]<@BC_Programming> ya normally trhe default
[08:38]<@jacky> default?
[08:38]<@BC_Programming> with linux systems, usually it's the default media player
[08:38]<@jacky> oh. ok
[08:38]<@jacky> just realized that my wording above might be ambiguous, and was trying to clear it up
[08:38]<@jacky> anyway
[08:39]<@jacky> wanted to add that to the mix
[08:39]<@jacky> what do you think, now?
[08:39]<@BC_Programming> dunno... Seems odd that you can hear it with the volume all the way up, and yet there is no actual way to change the volume from the PC side like usual
[08:39]<@jacky> taking so long to reply is telling me something... heehehe... are you baffled too?
[08:39]<@jacky> in the PC... it says no audio device
[08:40]<@jacky> something is "confused" somewhere....
[08:40]<@jacky> and I'm afraid to do a Windows Repair Install, based on what you found and said.
[08:40]<@jacky> I asked a friend yesterday, and she is going to look to see if maybe she has an extra old pc
[08:40]<@jacky> so we could test the sound card
[08:40]<@jacky> but, she didn't think so.. not right off the top of her head
[08:40]<@BC_Programming> wait, I may be confused... the clip that you could hear somewhat, that was in windows, right?
[08:41]<@jacky> she's going to ask her son... that'll take about 3 weeks.... heehehehe
[08:41]<@jacky> only time I heard anything was under Windows. Yes.
[08:41]<@BC_Programming> this adds a bit of info, will do some googles
[08:41]<@jacky> Windows media player, or whatever Windows calls it.. the built in player anyway... nothing heard
[08:41]<@jacky> VLC for Windows... with one clip... I could hear it
[08:42]<@jacky> while googling... remember that if I go to "manage audio devices" and then to the Recording tab, it hangs
[08:43]<@jacky> must use Task Manager to kill it
[08:43]<@jacky> for whatever that bit of info is worth
[08:43]<@BC_Programming> you could hear it... but, that was after maxing the volume on the speaker and even then only faintly, wasn't it?
[08:43]<@jacky> no
[08:43]<@BC_Programming> ahh interesting
[08:43]<@jacky> cannot max volume on the speaker icon
[08:43]<@BC_Programming> I mean, from the speakers
[08:43]<@jacky> did push up volume within VLC
[08:43]<@jacky> lost me
[08:44]<@BC_Programming> you know, those boxy things that play the sound?
[08:44]<@BC_Programming> :P
[08:44]<@BC_Programming> unless they don't have a volume control
[08:44]<@jacky> the volume control .. the physical knob? on the speaker? it is a little above half way... maybe a little above 'normal'
[08:44]<@BC_Programming> oh ok
[08:44]<@jacky> it's been so long... but I think that setting is maybe a quarter turn above 'normal'
[08:45]<@jacky> in VLC.. the slide bar graph thing... to get a normal level of sound volume, I had to push it up to maybe 80%, which I think is well above 'normal'
[08:45]<@jacky> I hope I'm explaining it
[08:47]<@jacky> you know what? it is like the OS is being prevented from fully "seeing" the new card. Right now, a trouble shooter says the audio device is disabled. That's the onboard device, I think. ... because I did disable it in bios.
[08:48]<@jacky> yet... the Asus driver for the new card installs, with no errors.... says device is ready to use
[08:48]<@jacky> ... it is confusing
[08:49]<@BC_Programming> have you tried enabling the on-board and simply disabling it from within windows? maybe windows is getting confused because one of them is disabled and it tries to use that one for whatever reason
[08:49]<@BC_Programming> unless that makes it unbootable, of course- I can't remember if you mentioned that
[08:50]<@jacky> Win7 seems to boot fine
[08:50]<@jacky> what is the "that" that you refer to though?
[08:50]<@jacky> oops
[08:50]<@jacky> re reading
[08:50]<@BC_Programming> wether it froze/hung or whatever if you tried to boot with the on-board enabled
[08:50] * pottsi (Mibbit@pottsi.staff.mibbit.net) has joined #glitchpc
[08:50] * ChanbotII sets mode: +v pottsi
[08:51]<@jacky> for months, it has booted fine with on board enabled... but... that was without additional sound card..
[08:51]<@jacky> have not tried it, as you described
[08:51]<@jacky> that is... with both
[08:51]<@jacky> by disabled within windows.. you mean go to DM and disable it?
[08:51]<@BC_Programming> yes
[08:51]<@jacky> just want to get it straight in my head, as I'm not going to try it at this very moment
[08:51]<@jacky> cool
[08:52]<@jacky> you caught my comment earlier about linux Mint?
[08:52]<@jacky> pottsi: hello
[08:52]<+pottsi> hey jacky
[08:52]<+Mulreay> hey pottsi
[08:52]<+pottsi> hey Mulreay
[08:52]<@BC_Programming> jacky: yes, I was doing some searches to see, about that
[08:53]<@jacky> BC_Programming: I _think_ Mint was saying about the same... that it didn't find the card
[08:53]<+Mulreay> We have nearly a full team
[08:53]<@jacky> then again, I don't know if Mint would... if it would need some driver
[08:53]<@jacky> Mulreay: ahh... but *what* are we full of, eh?
[08:53]<@jacky> :)
[08:54]<@jacky> brb.. a couple min
[08:54]<+Mulreay> mmm can't swear on here :p
[08:56]<+Mulreay> We all bring something to this channel be it bears, passums, randomness, weird stuff, help I suppose and lots of banter.
[09:04]<@jacky> back
[09:04]<@jacky> Mulreay: mine was a joking question
[09:04]<@jacky> heheehe
[09:05]<@jacky> I assume BC is still googling
[09:05]<@jacky> isn't this a mystery?
[09:05]<@jacky> why it is, that anything I seem to do, is complicated? ... sigh...
[09:05]<+Mulreay> Mmm you know who we need?
[09:05]<@jacky> money
[09:05]<@jacky> I'd start buying new parts, until I beat it
[09:05]<@jacky> heheeheh
[09:05]<@jacky> oh
[09:05]<@jacky> "who"
[09:05]<@jacky> sorry
[09:06]<+Mulreay> Sherlock Holmes can solve any mystery.. not sure about IT troubleshooting though
[09:06]<@jacky> tell me.. who?
[09:06]<@jacky> maybe his helper?
[09:06]<+Mulreay> Watson?
[09:06]<@jacky> was it "Dr. Possum" ?
[09:06]<@jacky> oh
[09:06]<@jacky> ok
[09:06]<@jacky> <g>
[09:06]<+Mulreay> lol
[09:06]<@jacky> I tried.
[09:08]<+Mulreay> It's all we can ask
[09:09]<@BC_Programming> Jacky: can you right click the sound icon and choose "Open Volume Mixer"?
[09:09]<+Mulreay> I tried once... never could get my head around it
[09:10]<@jacky> sound icon = little speaker at the bottom right, correct?
[09:10]<@BC_Programming> yes
[09:10]<@jacky> I get a pop up. there is no "Open Volume mixer"
[09:10]<+pottsi> back
[09:10]<@jacky> want a list of what is there?
[09:11]<+Mulreay> front
[09:13]<@BC_Programming> jacky: no... just wanted to know if it would hang there
[09:13]<@BC_Programming> you've tried the latest driver?
[09:13]<@jacky> ok
[09:13]<@BC_Programming> http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=FiWODUF4uhiJVJKD&templete=2
[09:13]<@jacky> BC_Programming: are you using, or have very handy now, Win7 ?
[09:13]<@BC_Programming> yes
[09:14]<@jacky> tried both CD that came with card, and driver I got from Asus site
[09:14]<@jacky> let me check your link
[09:14]<@BC_Programming> sure you got the right "bit" width (32-bit/64-bit)? crazy weird stuff can happen if you install a 32-bit driver on x64... and I'd call your symptoms crazy weird stuff
[09:16]<@jacky> BC_Programming: looks to be the same I d/l there. I have PCI_DG_7_12_8_1792_Win7.zip
[09:16]<@jacky> it says this there: Xonar DG driver for Windows Win7 32/64-bit
[09:17]<@jacky> I took that to mean that there is only one driver to d/l, and that it magically does the rest
[09:18]<@BC_Programming> yeah I just compared them both they are the same for the "Windows 7" and "Windows 7 64-bit" versions
[09:18]<@jacky> looks that way... yes
[09:18]<@jacky> and yes.. I did have the pull down on Win7
[09:18]<@jacky> I'd forgotten that I did that
[09:18]<@jacky> I mean...
[09:18]<@jacky> Win7 64 bit
[09:18]<@jacky> since you have Win 7
[09:18]<@jacky> can you do this:
[09:19]<@jacky> CP - hardware and sound
[09:19]<@jacky> then:
[09:19]<@jacky> "Adjust sound volume"
[09:19]<@jacky> what do you get?
[09:19]<@jacky> I seem to remember a bunch of sliders...
[09:19]<@jacky> I get a blank white pop up, with these words: no audio device installed
[09:20]<@BC_Programming> it opens the same volume mixer I get from right-clicking the Speakers/Sound icon in the notification area and choosing "Volume Mixer"
[09:20]<@jacky> thought so..
[09:21]<@jacky> if I do "manage audio devices"
[09:21]<@jacky> and choose the Recording tab
[09:21]<@jacky> I can see that it is default... green check mark... on microphone
[09:21]<@jacky> and it hangs
[09:21]<@jacky> must use Task Manager to kill it
[09:21]<@jacky> just for whatever that tidbit is worth.....
[09:23]<@BC_Programming> you could try the Vista driver, Vista drivers will install and run on Win7... I know I had to use a windows 2000 driver to get some stuff working on XP, because the XP driver didn't work for some reason
[09:23]<@jacky> sure... give me a few min
[09:23]<@jacky> use the time to keep cogitating up new ideas for me to try
[09:24]<@jacky> :)
[09:25]<+Mulreay> Have you tried a hammer?
[09:26]<@BC_Programming> his RAM Hammer is in the shop. unfortunately
[09:26]<+Mulreay> damn
[09:26]<@BC_Programming> that's what I said when he told me
[09:26] * @jacky deserves that
[09:26]<+Mulreay> I could email you one
[09:26]<@BC_Programming> lol
[09:28]<@jacky> BC_Programming: d/ling now
[09:28]<@BC_Programming> k
[09:28]<@BC_Programming> if that doesn't work I'm truly out of ideas
[09:29]<+Mulreay> DAMN it's crashed again... euargh
[09:29]<@jacky> just use update driver? or uninstall from within DM, then reinstall? reboots?
[09:29]<@BC_Programming> uninstall from add/remove
[09:29]<+Mulreay> I should stick to playing board games
[09:30]<@BC_Programming> if the vista driver doesn't work, well, I'm out of ideas, really, other then checking the card in another PC or another card in yours
[09:31]<+Mulreay> I'm gonna clear out some of my bots logs, that's always fun
[09:31]<@jacky> BC_Programming: uninstalled via add/remove in CP. must I reboot now?
[09:32]<@BC_Programming> I don't think so... I wouldn't
[09:32]<@jacky> go to Device manager
[09:32]<@jacky> ?
[09:32]<@BC_Programming> I'd install the "new" (old) driver right after
[09:32]<@jacky> update?
[09:32]<@BC_Programming> no
[09:32]<@jacky> is that the method?
[09:32]<@jacky> ok
[09:32]<@jacky> describe
[09:32]<@BC_Programming> run the download
[09:32]<@jacky> the .exe that came in the d/l?
[09:32]<@jacky> ok
[09:32]<@jacky> brb
[09:32]<@BC_Programming> yep
[09:33]<@jacky> pop up. "don't support this platform"
[09:33]<@jacky> try it the other way now?
[09:34]<@BC_Programming> hmm
[09:34]<@BC_Programming> I suppose
[09:34]<@BC_Programming> although the "other way" requires the INF file
[09:34]<@jacky> I'm going to DM, and using Update driver there
[09:34]<@jacky> ok?
[09:34]<@BC_Programming> yep

[09:45]<+Mulreay> Hey pottsi what is my memory limit?
[09:45]<+Mulreay> for the shell that is..
[09:45]<@BC_Programming> memory or disk space?
[09:45]<+Mulreay> Same difference
[09:46]<+Mulreay> it's 100mb for Dangerbot on Shellium
[09:46]<+Mulreay> He's currently residing at 8%
[09:47]<+pottsi> ahh
[09:47]<+pottsi> i havent' set you one
[09:47]<+Mulreay> oh ok
[09:47]<+Mulreay> that's cool heh
[09:47]<+pottsi> :)
[09:47]<@BC_Programming> Mulreay: Memory and disk space are not the same thing...
[09:47]<+Mulreay> BC_Programming your being pedantic
[09:48]<@BC_Programming> No I'm not. They aren't the same thing.
[09:48]<+Mulreay> what else would I have meant?
[09:48]<@BC_Programming> you could have meant either Memory, or disk space. I'm pretty sure they can both be given limits in a shell
[09:48]<+Mulreay> ok 1-0 to BC_Programming
[09:49]<+pottsi> correct you can
[09:49]<+pottsi> but you don't have a limmit on any
[09:49]<+pottsi> when my company starts i will do limits to new costomers
[09:50]<@BC_Programming> you heard him mulreay- start filling up your space and tell your bot to start allocating needless amounts of memory
[09:50]<+Mulreay> cool, not that I would abuse it of course... not sure how I could/would anyway.. not running anything taxing

[09:52]<@jacky> Mulreay: sorry.. I've not been around much, or talking to you much, about your new bot. I hope you are progressing well with it.

[09:53]<@jacky> what's a little red arrow, pointing down mean?
[09:53]<@jacky> disabled?
[09:55]<@BC_Programming> let me check
[09:55]<@jacky> tnx
[09:55]<@jacky> just curious
[09:55]<@jacky> I see it on a couple things in there
[09:55]<@jacky> it is not letting me change default, disable or enable anything in there
[09:56]<+Mulreay> Usually a yellow warning sign in Vista I think
[09:56]<@BC_Programming> seems to mean disconnected
[09:56]<+Mulreay> ahh that's just problems with the yellow sign
[09:56]<+Mulreay> I'll shut up now
[09:56]<@jacky> BC_Programming: can you "disable" your speakers?
[09:56]<@jacky> Mulreay: heeheh
[09:57]<@BC_Programming> for me, I get it on the "speakers" icon for my integrated card
[09:57]<@BC_Programming> the driver, and the hardware are both enabled... it's just saying basically that no speakers are plugged into it
[09:57]<@BC_Programming> for me, I mean
[09:57]<@jacky> if you right click on the speakers, do you get a pop up to be able to disable them?
[09:58]<@BC_Programming> yes
[09:58]<@BC_Programming> and I can, just tried
[09:58]<@jacky> what happens, when you do?
[09:58]<@jacky> basically, mutes the system?
[09:58]<@BC_Programming> it... get's disabled...
[09:58]<@BC_Programming> neither
[09:58]<@BC_Programming> which speakers? I thought we were talking about the one with the red down arrow
[09:58]<@BC_Programming> because, I only have one of those
[09:58]<@jacky> no.. sorry
[09:58]<@BC_Programming> seems to mean, that nothing is connected to it...
[09:58]<@jacky> your default speakers
[09:58]<@jacky> the active ones
[09:59]<@jacky> do they have a green check mark on them?
[09:59]<@jacky> them
[09:59]<@BC_Programming> yes
[09:59]<@jacky> can you disable them?
[09:59]<@jacky> then, it is quiet?
[09:59]<@BC_Programming> when I disable the "speakers" for my X-fi, it switches to my integrated
[09:59]<@jacky> ah
[09:59]<@BC_Programming> it's quiet yes
[09:59]<@jacky> for me.. I can choose disable, but it doesn't disable them
[09:59]<@BC_Programming> for the Xonar?
[09:59]<@jacky> correct
[10:00]<@jacky> I can right click again, and disable is still on menu. Not enable
[10:00]<@BC_Programming> have you disabled the integrated sound from device manager?
[10:00]<@jacky> actually.. the other things in there do the same
[10:00]<@jacky> too
[10:00]<@jacky> brb.. let me check in DM
[10:01]<@jacky> no. I can right click each in DM, and disable is a menu option
[10:01]<@jacky> none have been disabled
[10:01]<@BC_Programming> ...
[10:01]<@jacky> what's "..." mean?
[10:01]<@jacky> heh
[10:02]<@BC_Programming> sorry, I meant that you should try that... but, I'm starting to think personally that the damage from the lightning was more then just the integrated sound
[10:02]<@BC_Programming> and of course the other peripherals that you had to replace and whatnot
[10:02]<@jacky> it was. I get some sort of pop up... can't find a USB device... lost the monitor.. my phone.. an ext usb enclosure...
[10:02]<@BC_Programming> but I mea
[10:02]<@jacky> but, do you mean
[10:02]<@jacky> that the mb might have problems?
[10:03]<@BC_Programming> yes
[10:03]<@jacky> afraid of that
[10:03]<@jacky> and, I dont' want to buy one, just to prove it
[10:03]<@jacky> I'd like to know, before I do that... the great paradox...
[10:03]<@jacky> sigh
[10:03]<@BC_Programming> yeah that wouldn't be very cost effective
[10:04]<@jacky> I'd have to reinstall Windows and all programs too, I believe
[10:04]<@jacky> no cloning procedure for that.. right?
[10:04]<@BC_Programming> I'm not 100% sure on that
[10:04]<@jacky> oh? I figured that mb change would trip the trigger on Windows stuff
[10:04]<@BC_Programming> I don't think so, has to be a lot of changes for that to set off
[10:05]<@jacky> and I figured a mb change, by itself, would be considered "a lot"
[10:05]<@jacky> oh well
[10:05]<@jacky> well.. if it is enough
[10:05]<@jacky> was I right?
[10:05]<@jacky> a new install of everything would be required?
[10:05]<@BC_Programming> well you seem to already know the answer
[10:06] * sonicrules1234 (sonicrules@mib-6494DB2B.lsanca.dsl-w.verizon.net) has joined #glitchpc
[10:06]<@jacky> no... I'm asking
[10:06]<@jacky> because I'm not sure
[10:06]<@BC_Programming> neither am I, as I already stated, so I can't answer it.
[10:06]<@jacky> oh. ok. I missed that. sorry
[10:07]<@BC_Programming> I've never tripped it when I replaced motherboards before is all; at least, not always. seemed to depend on what "type" of windows was installed
[10:07]<@jacky> heheheeh
[10:07]<@BC_Programming> like there are the ones that come preinstalled and are activated by the BIOS
[10:07]<@jacky> I'm interpreting "type"
[10:07]<@jacky> preinstalled.. activated by bios... all things I have no clue about
[10:07]<@jacky> no experience with that
[10:07]<@BC_Programming> so if you buy like a Dell PC with windows preinstalled
[10:07]<@jacky> my Windows7 is a simple retail version
[10:08]<@jacky> not an OEM version
[10:08]<@BC_Programming> that's activated by the BIOS; so if you switch to another MB that isn't dell it's trigger
[10:08]<@BC_Programming> with retail it has to be vast changes- different memory amount, different CPU; it has to think "hey, I'm in an entirely different computer"
[10:08]<@jacky> cool
[10:09]<@jacky> well.. that was a side note anyway
[10:09]<@jacky> if I can manage to test this card in another computer
[10:09]<@jacky> and
[10:09]<@jacky> if it works fine there
[10:09]<@jacky> that's a pretty good indication of problem with MB... is that how you are thinking?
[10:09]<@BC_Programming> if it works no problems, that points more to the MB... but still not certain, it's very difficult to be certain about stuff like the motherboard- without a replacement, of course, which presents as a catch-22 like you said
[10:10]<@jacky> but
[10:10]<@jacky> I wonder about Windows itself... what are the chances that this might be software related? that something got corrupted in Win?
[10:10]<@jacky> slim?
[10:10]<@BC_Programming> possible
[10:10]<@jacky> rats...
[10:10]<@jacky> more variables
[10:10]<@jacky> hehe
[10:10]<@BC_Programming> I probably would have already done a completely clean install if I was in your place TBH
[10:11]<@jacky> I'm thinking abou tit... and dreading it
[10:11]<@jacky> need to do a lot of housekeeping/cleaning first
[10:11]<@jacky> backing up... etc., etc.

[10:12]<@BC_Programming> then again, I had all my data stuff on a entirely separate partition, and now on a different drive
[10:12]<@BC_Programming> yes sonic rules, linux is great, I particularly love the vast wealth of applications that are developed for it on a daily basis, and it's great support for 3-D and new games
[10:12]<@BC_Programming> oh wait

[10:14]<sonicrules1234> BC_Programming: Never said that
[10:15]<@BC_Programming> sonicrules: he said "linux is not lightning proof" and you said "if you are using a surge protector it is" implying that such a scenario does not extend to a windows OS, and only applies to Linux

[10:43]<+Mulreay> Obviously the British use it palm facing to say 'feck you' and the victory is palm outwards
[10:45]<+Mulreay> We also use the middle finger but never read up on the starts of that stupid craze following thing... I mean a hand signal means a bad thing... grow a pair and tell the person to there face what you think

[13:30]<@BC_Programming> hmm interesting idea for the blackhole block; if it has a negative mass, it will repel the balls, so I could call that a "white hole" block; with the blackhole block it could suck balls in and the white hole block (if it manages to get hit) can create balls or something.
