[08:40]<@BC_Programming> curses, my MP3 player broke :(
[08:57] * Guest49424 is now known as Mulreay
[08:57]<+Mulreay> BOOM!
[08:57]<@BC_Programming> hey mulreay
[08:58]<@BC_Programming> sounds like a creeper
[08:58]<+Mulreay> haha awesome guess
[08:59]<@BC_Programming> yay!
[08:59]<@BC_Programming> but srsly this is annoying... my MP3 player has finally decided to bust on me after 4 years of service
[08:59]<+Mulreay> took out part of my roof
[08:59]<@BC_Programming> although, technically, it's not broken
[08:59]<@BC_Programming> I just can't turn the volume up so it's useless
[08:59]<+Mulreay> I just use my phone now
[08:59]<@BC_Programming> yeah I don't have a phone :P
[09:00]<@BC_Programming> I guess I'll have to switch to archaic CDs for a while at least, may pop open the player see of I can solder the mechanism back on
[09:00]<+Mulreay> worth a go
[09:00]<@BC_Programming> the actual button assembly thing that the rocker switch presses inside literally snapped off the circuit board :O
[09:01]<+Mulreay> :(
[09:01]<@BC_Programming> yeah I took it apart at work when I found I couldn't turn the volume up and as I tried it kept going down
[09:02]<@BC_Programming> the switch is underneath the little circuit board and I managed to pry it up enough to see the button and I was all "yeah! I can just press the button a few times and worry about this later!"
[09:02]<+Mulreay> I'm watching Man Utd live streamed from America, I can't believe how many ads the Americans have to go through
[09:02]<@BC_Programming> but it was not to be...
[09:03]<@BC_Programming> Mulreay: I don't watch very much TV, but yeah, there are a shiteload of commercials
[09:03]<@BC_Programming> pretty much why I stick to the interwebs
[09:03]<+Mulreay> Saves me going to the pub to watch it... not paying for sky sports
[09:04]<@BC_Programming> kinda wish I was still working 5 days/week, but don't like the idea of... well, working 5 days a week
[09:04]<@BC_Programming> but I liked the extra spending money :P
[09:04]<+Mulreay> yeah
[09:04]<@BC_Programming> then I could just replace my MP3 player no problem
[09:05]<@BC_Programming> actually, it's three years old, I could probably get another one off ebay for like 20 cents
[09:05]<+Mulreay> heh yeah
[09:05]<@BC_Programming> yeah it's all "your MP3 player only holds 4GB? how quaint!"
[09:06]<@BC_Programming> and I'd say
[09:06]<@BC_Programming> "your ipod only works with a proprietary connector and with a specific software interface? How quaint!"
[09:06]<+Mulreay> heh
[09:07]<@BC_Programming> what get's me is that so many folks think the iPod was "the first MP3 player"
[09:07]<@BC_Programming> but it wasn't even close
[09:08]<@BC_Programming> it was the first one to be backed by one of the largest companies in the world, though, which allowed them to pretty well ass-pull their success by riding on the coattails of their earlier ones.
[09:08]<@BC_Programming> I tried using a Ipod once
[09:08]<@BC_Programming> intuitive my ass
[09:09]<+Mulreay> heh, I've had two of them
[09:09]<@BC_Programming> my brother has a iPod touch
[09:09]<@BC_Programming> not sure what the point of that is
[09:09]<@BC_Programming> seems like an iPhone with about 80% of ant functionality stripped out, really
[09:10]<+Mulreay> yeah
[09:10]<@BC_Programming> those first generation ones are pretty nifty
[09:10]<@BC_Programming> what with the good old Apple system font in monochrome
[09:10]<@BC_Programming> damned sad that I know the font is called Chicago
[09:10]<+Mulreay> heh indeed it is
[09:11]<@BC_Programming> later versions of Mac OS used a font called Charcoal
[09:11]<+Craig> Yay, I finally know how to do a sector copy from one drive to another. and do a COMPLETE recovery from a failing drive! :) Woot
[09:12]<@BC_Programming> Craig: nice
[09:12]<+Mulreay> cool
[09:12]<+Craig> :) Any way, off to church for me, laters all
[09:13]<+Mulreay> later

[10:00]<@BC_Programming> yay fixed my MP3 player, but now I have no volume control
[10:00]<@BC_Programming> have to use a screwdriver to hit the volume down button and also to short out the volume up pins since the volume up button ripped right off
[10:08]<cmdpro2> haha
[10:08]<cmdpro2> nice
[10:08] * cmdpro2 (Mibbit@mib-631ACCB3.dhcp.bycy.mi.charter.com) Quit (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
[10:23]<+Mulreay> well it's a start
[10:24]<@BC_Programming> yeah it's definitely been given a bit of an extended life
[10:24]<@BC_Programming> sort of like putting a 108 year old man in a iron lung
[10:25]<@BC_Programming> I have a grandiose idea in minecraft... a large pit that goes all the way to the bedrock
[10:26]<+Mulreay> I have one of them
[10:26]<@BC_Programming> yeah but I mean a large pit; like, say the size of my glass fort
[10:26]<+Mulreay> cool
[10:26]<@BC_Programming> and perfectly square as well, that hole under my glass fort is a bit jagged for my liking
[10:26]<+Mulreay> Mine is more a rectangle
