[05:34] <Mulreay> BC_Programming or Craig you there?
[05:35] <pottsi> hello Mulreay
[05:35] <Mulreay> hi pottsi
[05:35] <pottsi> sup
[05:36] <Mulreay> Ohh lots and lots...
[05:36] <Mulreay> heh
[05:36] <pottsi> hehe
[05:36] <pottsi> anything i can attempt to help with?
[05:37] <Mulreay> No offence buddy it's just something we three were looking at the other day.. it's to do with an encryption that went very wrong..
[05:37] <pottsi> heh np
[05:37] <pottsi> what encryption?
[05:37] <Mulreay> you can have a read if you want me to tell you...
[05:38] <pottsi> sure
[05:40] <Mulreay> I used comodo to encrypt my external drive. I then got a bsod and all the data on the external was well... destroyed. I had to re-format and then I'm getting bsod's when I run recova (ccleaner, piriform). Everything is starting to go very wrong so need advise or a remote link to sort things out... as I have known BC and Craig a long time I'm waiting on there help
[05:41] <pottsi> ouch
[05:41] <Mulreay> Yeah tell me about it..
[05:42] <Mulreay> And to stick the knife in comodo will not let me uninstall it heh
[05:42] <pottsi> heh
[05:43] <Mulreay> I have managed to stabilise my day to day use of the computer but I'm very aware that things can go <censored> up at any moment
[05:43] <pottsi> sounds very starange
[05:43] <Mulreay> Yeah
[05:43] <pottsi> sure you don't have a virus aswell?
[05:44] <Mulreay> No I have, Norton, malwarebytes, superantispyware and full scans show nothing as I run scans every week
[05:44] <Mulreay> It started when I used comodo... that is the culprate
[05:44] <pottsi> hmm
[05:44] <pottsi> hmm
[05:46] <Mulreay> At first Craig and I decided it would just be best to hide all shortcuts to comodo and leave it be.. but it still has it's fingers on my computer
[05:46] <Mulreay> I may just backup to my external hardrive and re-install Vista
[05:46] <pottsi> isin't comodo an antivirus and firewall?
[05:46] <pottsi> xD
[05:47] <Mulreay> No comodo is an encryption software
[05:47] * pottsi googles
[05:48] <Mulreay> http://www.comodo.com/products/comodo-products.php
[05:49] <Mulreay> Your in the UK pottsi?

[05:51] <Mulreay> It's ok don't go out of your way pottsi... Craig or BC_Programming will sort it for me..
[05:52] <pottsi> though there are simpler eaiser ways to encrypt things (md5&salt) work well
[05:52] <pottsi> brb
[05:52] <Mulreay> ok

[05:54] <pottsi> :(

[05:55] <pottsi> o okay
[05:55] <Mulreay> It's just annoying that recovery keeps starting a bsod

[12:45] <Craig> Cool,
[12:45] <Mulreay> all the*
[12:45] <Craig> Thats not unusual, Recouva is pretty good,
[12:46] <Mulreay> Ok it says if i try to recover to the same drive it may not work??
[12:46] <Craig> Yeah you need a different drive so that they are not over writing files on the drive,
[12:47] <Mulreay> ok so if I try to recover to my (j) drive external that may work?
[12:48] <Craig> Depends on where you are looking for the files,
[12:48] <Craig> are you searching with Recouva on C, or on J?
[12:48] <Mulreay> c:
[12:48] <Mulreay> c
[12:48] <Craig> Then recovering to J would be fine

[14:56] <Mulreay> Recovered over 10000 files already... whoo hoo
[14:56] <@BC_Programming> awesome
[14:56] <Mulreay> still 5hrs+ to go on the recovery though... atleast I won't have to re-download gmod heh... was missing that
[14:57] <Tux2> Nice Mulready.
[14:57] <jjs999jjs> so much effort for silly kiddy porn I mean even Gary Glitter asked PC World
[14:57] <Tux2> Mulreay, *
[14:57] <@BC_Programming> mulready?
[14:57] <@BC_Programming> heh
[14:57] <Tux2> Yeah, I don't know how that "d" got in there.
[14:58] <Mulreay> heh tucks
[14:58] <Mulreay> sorry tux
[14:58] <Mulreay> jjs999jjs lits leave the kids out of this
[14:58] <Mulreay> lets*
[14:58] <jjs999jjs> yeh please do
[14:58] <Mulreay> I'm at it now
[14:58] <jjs999jjs> the kids ?
[14:59] <Mulreay> heh
[14:59] * Tux2 (Tux2@E33E54F6.8F502EB6.39CF04D1.IP) Quit (No route to host)
[14:59] * Tux3 (Tux2@E33E54F6.8F502EB6.39CF04D1.IP) has joined #glitchpc
[15:00] <Tux3> Ugh! Computer randomly rebooted there...
[15:00] <Mulreay> Problem I have (heh problem) I can't minimize the programme so I'm having to run through lots of windows just to open something... I'll get over it..
[15:00] * Tux3 is now known as Tux2
[15:00] <@BC_Programming> try windows key-D, that usually minimized everything
[15:00] <jjs999jjs> press alt+tab
[15:00] <@BC_Programming> unless it's an always on top window...
[15:00] <jjs999jjs> wont help but by God i will laugh
[15:01] <@BC_Programming> huh?
[15:01] <Mulreay> Oh yeah I'm all for trying something new BC_Programming... that's what got me into this mess
[15:01] <Tux2> lol. What happened?
[15:01] <Mulreay> long story
[15:01] <pottsi> hey Tux5
[15:01] <pottsi> erm Tux2*
[15:01] <Mulreay> I tried a programme that went wrong
[15:02] <Tux2> Hi pottsi!
[15:02] <pottsi> sup?
[15:02] * jjs999jjs slaps pottsi
[15:02] <pottsi> where you been
[15:02] <pottsi> :(
[15:02] <pottsi> hey jjs999jjs
[15:02] <pottsi> ello jacky
[15:02] <jjs999jjs> aye4 pottsi
[15:02] <Mulreay> BC_Programming I was gonna ask you something before if you have a sec
[15:02] <Mulreay> HI jacky
[15:02] <@BC_Programming> k
[15:03] <@jacky> pottsi: Hello
[15:03] <Tux2> Well, I have been trying to get my car fixed...
[15:03] <@jacky> Mulreay: Hello
[15:03] <Tux2> Hi jacky
[15:03] <@jacky> Tux2: Hello
[15:03] <pottsi> free to talk?
[15:03] <Mulreay> Are you good at maths?
[15:03] <@jacky> pottsi: for a little bit
[15:03] <@BC_Programming> just ask the question, Mulreay :P
[15:03] <jjs999jjs> jacky is great for a 'little bit'
[15:04] <Mulreay> heh ok.. you asked for it.... How do you write 10 to the power of 10million
[15:04] <Tux2> Well, we had a big snowstorm a few days ago. I was taking a turn at a very conservative speed, hit some ice and couldn't steer the car. Bent my rim, and it looks like it may have damaged the whell bearings... my mechanic is taking a look at it today.
[15:04] <Tux2> 10^10000000
[15:04] <Mulreay> thought so... just looks wrong
[15:05] <@BC_Programming> heh I wasn't paying attention lol
[15:05] <Tux2> lol BC_Programming
[15:05] <@BC_Programming> hey wait a second... that's not right anyway...
[15:05] <@BC_Programming> 10^1000000
[15:05] <@BC_Programming> 6 zeros... not 7
[15:06] <Mulreay> no
[15:06] <Mulreay> 10,000,000
[15:06] <Mulreay> that's 1mill
[15:06] <Craig> Yes but ten to the power of 6 is 7 zeros
[15:06] <@BC_Programming> no. that's 10 million
[15:06] <Mulreay> see i said it looked wrong...
[15:06] <@BC_Programming> Craig: yeah but maybe you should pay attention :P
[15:07] <@BC_Programming> he said, how to write 10 to the power of 1 million
[15:07] <Craig> Hahaha, I am just explaining, I dont really care whats happening.. :P
[15:07] <Mulreay> no 10 million
[15:07] <Tux2> <Mulreay> heh ok.. you asked for it.... How do you write 10 to the power of 10million
[15:07] <@BC_Programming> oh good point
[15:07] <@BC_Programming> heh
[15:07] <Mulreay> <Mulreay> heh ok.. you asked for it.... How do you write 10 to the power of 10million
[15:07] <Craig> 10^10^10000000
[15:07] <@BC_Programming> um no
[15:07] <Craig> ?
[15:08] <@BC_Programming> Tux had it right
[15:08] <Mulreay> <Craig> 10^10^10000000 now your just being weird
[15:08] <@BC_Programming> yeah
[15:08] <Craig> 10e10000000
[15:08] <@BC_Programming> that's wrong to
[15:08] <Craig> Or 10e7
[15:09] <Mulreay> that's better
[15:09] <Mulreay> no that's wrong
[15:10] <Mulreay> That would equal 100.000.000
[15:10] <Craig> Fine 10e6
[15:10] <jjs999jjs> just write LOOOOOOOOTS!!
[15:10] <Mulreay> Still wrong as it's 10 to the power of 10mill
[15:11] <@BC_Programming> yeah.. .by the way nobody really uses scientific notation except when the numbers are no
[15:11] <@BC_Programming> 1e7 is 10*10 to the power of 6
[15:11] <@BC_Programming> sorry
[15:11] <Mulreay> so it may look like 10e10000000
[15:11] <@BC_Programming> 10e6
[15:11] <@BC_Programming> 10e6=10*10^1000000
[15:12] <@BC_Programming> 10*10^1000000= 10,000,000
[15:12] <@BC_Programming> ten million
[15:12] <Mulreay> ok
[15:12] <@BC_Programming> but, that means it would need to be, like, 10&10e6
[15:12] <Craig> He wants 10*10e6
[15:12] <@BC_Programming> 10^10e6
[15:12] <Mulreay> exactly
[15:12] <Craig> yeah...
[15:12] <@BC_Programming> 10 to the power of ten million
[15:12] <Mulreay> 10^10e6
[15:13] <@BC_Programming> what's all this for anyway?
[15:13] <Mulreay> Working out something...
[15:13] <Mulreay> For my website
[15:13] <Craig> Probably trying to figure out how many files in his recovery, :P
[15:13] <Mulreay> heh
[15:13] <jjs999jjs> mulreay has a website?
[15:14] <Mulreay> Atleast I can Craig :p
[15:14] <Craig> :)
[15:14] <Mulreay> http://imagebin.org/84279
[15:14] <Mulreay> Still plodding along
[15:14] <jjs999jjs> ha ha ha ha
[15:14] <Mulreay> jjs999jjs yes I do..sorry was caught up in the banter
[15:15] <jjs999jjs> no worries sir
[15:15] <Mulreay> Yeah this is no fast process to be fair
[15:15] <@BC_Programming> wait why can you not minimize recuva?
[15:15] <Craig> Try recovering 500GB worth of video...
[15:16] <Mulreay> Nahh your alright :)
[15:16] <Mulreay> ok so now I have a real number cruncher for you...
[15:17] <Mulreay> 10 to the power of 26 will be 10 with 26zeros yeah?
[15:17] <jjs999jjs> Craig try NOT losing 500gb
[15:18] <@BC_Programming> mulreay: I don't think so.
[15:18] <Craig> Never did, I got it all recovered, then a week later, I formatted the drive on purpose,
[15:18] <@BC_Programming> maybe... not sure
[15:18] <Mulreay> Maths not my field BC_Programming
[15:18] <@BC_Programming> 10^26=100000000000000000000000000
[15:18] <@BC_Programming> yeah I think that's 26 zeros
[15:18] <Mulreay> How many zeros...?
[15:19] <Mulreay> ok
[15:19] <@BC_Programming> yeah it's 26
[15:19] <@BC_Programming> Len(trim$(Cstr(Cdec(10^26))))-1 gave me 26
[15:19] <Mulreay> That's how big the (knowable) universe is in meters... don't quote me though
[15:19] <Mulreay> cool
[15:20] <@jacky> be back later
[15:20] * jacky (the_kink@mib-7B9EB39F.slsbmd.east.verizon.net) has left #glitchpc
[15:20] <Mulreay> later jacky
[15:20] <Mulreay> Always late me
[15:20] <@BC_Programming> umm
[15:20] <@BC_Programming> Mulreay I don't think that's what the number means
[15:20] <@BC_Programming> a light year is 16070400000000 meters
[15:20] <Mulreay> ok
[15:21] <@BC_Programming> I just calculated it, heh, 186000*1000)60*60*24
[15:21] <@BC_Programming> oh wait
[15:21] <@BC_Programming> that's still too small
[15:21] <Craig> 1 lightyear = 9.4605284 × 1012 kilometers
[15:21] <Mulreay> way to small
[15:21] <Craig> 1 lightyear = 9.4605284 × 10^12 kilometers
[15:21] <@BC_Programming> multiply by 265 and THEN it's a lightyear
[15:21] <Craig> Thats not right BC,
[15:21] <@BC_Programming> 5.865696E+15
[15:21] <Mulreay> no
[15:22] <Craig> 1 lightyear = 9.4605284 × 1015 meters
[15:22] <Craig> 1 lightyear = 9.4605284 × 10^15 meters
[15:22] <@BC_Programming> ahh I was using miles
[15:22] <Craig> Hahahaha
[15:22] <@BC_Programming> 186000 miles per second not km
[15:22] <Mulreay> Man you guy's are abusing google... heh
[15:22] <@BC_Programming> that's... about 300,000 km/s
[15:23] <Craig> No,
[15:23] <Mulreay> there abouts
[15:23] <Craig> c is 3*10^6 m/s
[15:23] <@BC_Programming> oh I'm sorry craig
[15:23] <Mulreay> no it is 186000 mp/s
[15:23] <@BC_Programming> I was TOTALLY wrong about the speed of light
[15:23] <@BC_Programming> it's 299,792 km/s
[15:23] <Mulreay> heh
[15:23] <Mulreay> damn you and your lack of precision BC_Programming
[15:24] <@BC_Programming> so how about instead of looking up how many km are in a light year we actually calculate it, you know, like I was trying to do unti lcraig was all, Oh, here's the answer, you know, completely missing the point of the whole thing :P
[15:24] <Mulreay> then again 208kn/s is a big difference in the scheme of things
[15:24] <@BC_Programming> 299792*60*24*365
[15:24] <Craig> 299,792,458 metres per second, or 1079252848.8 Km/h
[15:25] <@BC_Programming> wow
[15:25] <@BC_Programming> you really don't understand metric
[15:25] <Craig> ?
[15:25] <@BC_Programming> 299,792,458 meters is 299,792 km
[15:25] <Mulreay> The funny thing is that you can't come up with an exact answer... so why are you both trying????
[15:25] <@BC_Programming> well, and .458
[15:25] <@BC_Programming> 157570675200
[15:26] <@BC_Programming> 157570675200 kilometers is the distance of a light-year..
[15:26] <@BC_Programming> no damn, my formula was wrong
[15:26] <Craig> HAHAHAHAHAA
[15:26] <Mulreay> heh
[15:26] <@BC_Programming> 299792*60*60*24*365
[15:26] <@BC_Programming> missing a * 60
[15:26] <Craig> Cause no matter how many times I calculate it, I still get 1079252848.8 for KM/h
[15:26] <@BC_Programming> 9454240512000 there
[15:27] <@BC_Programming> nobody cares about the km/h
[15:27] <Mulreay> mph
[15:27] <Mulreay> heh or mp/s
[15:27] <Craig> Hahah, and I agree on the year number, 9,454,254,955,488 KM
[15:27] <@BC_Programming> converting from km/s to km/h is just multiplying by 3600
[15:27] <Craig> Course its not really a number I can pronounce
[15:28] <Craig> Or 36 if your going from M/s
[15:28] <@BC_Programming> no
[15:28] <Mulreay> You can pronounce it you just don't know the word
[15:28] <@BC_Programming> hmm
[15:29] <@BC_Programming> actually yeah, I think so
[15:29] <Craig> You just do the math there BC...
[15:29] <@BC_Programming> when the kilometer becomes 100 meters.
[15:29] <@BC_Programming> too bad it's actually a thousand, so 3.6
[15:29] <@BC_Programming> 9 trillion or so
[15:30] <Craig> Doe....
[15:30] <Craig> Yeah got me with the decimal
[15:30] <Mulreay> Anyway I had a good answer already prepared but thanks for the maths... scrap
[15:31] <Craig> What on earth are you trying to calculate here Mulreay?
[15:31] <Mulreay> I'm making a topic for my site... it's to do with monkeys and other stuff
[15:31] <Craig> ummmhmmm...
[15:32] * Ashley (Mibbit@mib-487449C8.lutn.cable.ntl.com) Quit (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
[15:32] <Mulreay> See you made ashley leave now :)
[15:32] <Mulreay> To much maths
[15:32] <Craig> I prefer Physics, but eh,
[15:32] <@BC_Programming> well if you need the number as text
[15:32] <Mulreay> I'm working on a thesis about infinity
[15:32] <@BC_Programming> Four Hundred And And Nineteen Trillion Four Hundred And Fourteen Billion Two Hundred And Fourty Million Five Hundred And Twelve Thousand
[15:33] <@BC_Programming> I think, unless my program is busted
[15:33] <Mulreay> thx :)
[15:33] <Craig> What number is that?
[15:33] <Mulreay> it's
[15:33] <Craig> Surely not this one? 9,454,254,955,488 KM
[15:33] <@BC_Programming> hmm just ignore the four hundred and part at the start
[15:33] <Mulreay> Four Hundred And And Nineteen Trillion Four Hundred And Fourteen Billion Two Hundred And Fourty Million Five Hundred And Twelve Thousand
[15:33] <@BC_Programming> yeah that's wrong
[15:33] <Mulreay> don't count the double and
[15:33] <Craig> Whats wrong?
[15:33] <Craig> which one?
[15:33] <@BC_Programming> must be my really old version of the procedure or something
[15:34] <Craig> yours or the one I just copied?
[15:34] <jjs999jjs> please go to #mathsfordafties
[15:34] <Mulreay> heh
[15:34] <jjs999jjs> :)
[15:34] <@BC_Programming> thats what numberstring(9454240512000)
[15:34] <Craig> I'm not daft...
[15:34] <@BC_Programming> gave me
[15:34] <@BC_Programming> but it's wrong
[15:34] <Craig> interesting
[15:35] <@BC_Programming> must have misplaced the working version somewhere
[15:35] <Craig> Wasnt that the distance of a lightyear?
[15:35] <@BC_Programming> YES
[15:35] <Mulreay> anyway Craig aside from the maths class I was saying... I'm trying to put infinity into a thing that can be understood and well... talked about
[15:35] <Craig> Then that number is correct,
[15:35] <Mulreay> Still doing maths ok... heh
[15:35] <Craig> Hahahah good luck on that one there Mulreay,
[15:35] <@BC_Programming> um craig... no, the text conversion was NOT correct
[15:35] <Craig> ah
[15:36] <@BC_Programming> that's what I was saying was wrong
[15:36] <Craig> Oh ok
[15:36] <@BC_Programming> Mulreay just say "infinity is what happens when you ate on your side
[15:36] <@BC_Programming> that's why the symbol is an eight on it's side
[15:36] <Craig> Hahahaha
[15:36] <@BC_Programming> heh
[15:37] <@BC_Programming> dunno if this will work but here
[15:37] <@BC_Programming> 8
[15:37] <@BC_Programming> curses
[15:37] <@BC_Programming> that was the infinity symbol though, heh
[15:37] <Mulreay> sorry was looking at another thing... hehe
[15:38] <Mulreay> The joke I seemed to have broken... my apologies
[15:38] <Craig> 8
[15:38] <Craig> Heh
[15:38] <Craig> 8
[15:38] <Craig> Here! ∞
[15:39] <Mulreay> was funny though... was laughing on the inside
[15:39] <Mulreay> :)
[15:40] <Mulreay> You hope my recovery goes epically wrong now don't you BC_Programming?? :)
[15:40] <@BC_Programming> why would I Do that?
[15:40] <Craig> ... Have you had time to look into the recovery folder?
[15:40] <Mulreay> I'm touching nothing...
[15:41] <Mulreay> The light is flashing that's all I need
[15:43] <Mulreay> Now you have me worried...
[15:43] <Craig> I was asking, but I think I am wrong,
[15:43] <Mulreay> nothing is showing......
[15:43] <Mulreay> Oh damn
[15:43] <Craig> I am not sure how it works,
[15:44] <Craig> Its been a while since I last used a recovery program
[15:44] <Mulreay> I'm recovering from c: to j: so leave it be.. the J: drive is flashing there is nothing in the drive to see but...
[15:46] <Mulreay> On tenter hooks now
[15:46] <Mulreay> OK anyway crack on with my infinity issue...
[15:48] <jjs999jjs> Poke at my iris, why can't I cry about this?
[15:48] <jjs999jjs> Maybe there is something that you know that I don't?
[15:49] <Mulreay> ok you could have 29,000 yrs of consecutive lottery wins for the same result as a monkey typing out the complete works of sheakespeare
[15:49] <Mulreay> shakespeare)
[15:49] <Mulreay> *
[15:49] <Mulreay> Why can't I spell his name??
[15:49] <Craig> 9,454,254,955,488 = nine trillion, four hundred and fifty four billion, two hundred and fifty four million, nine hundred and fifty five thousand, four hundred and eighty eight? right BC?
[15:49] <Mulreay> shakespeare?
[15:50] <Craig> Shakespeare?
[15:50] <Craig> hahaha, I dunno
[15:50] <Mulreay> heh
[15:50] <Craig> I think thats right,
[15:50] <Craig> atleast thats what Google Says
[15:50] <Mulreay> Good answer Craig.. BC_Programming that right?
[15:51] <Mulreay> Take that as a maybe..
[15:51] <Craig> I think he's busy
[15:51] <Mulreay> yeah probably
[15:52] <Mulreay> The reason why I was asking the questions... is
[15:53] <Mulreay> About monkeys typing out the complete works of shakespeare and the distance of the knowable universe
[15:53] <Mulreay> And the odds of the monkeys succeding in normal life terms
[15:54] <Mulreay> The lottery
[15:54] <Mulreay> Some would argue we think to much...
[15:56] <Craig> heh
[15:58] <Mulreay> Will have to stay up all night now to make sure this recovery works..
[15:58] <jjs999jjs> lies mulreay go to bed
[15:58] <Mulreay> heh
[15:58] <Mulreay> I'm a night owl to be fair
[16:00] <Mulreay> Having a school reunion on Sun heh you have to laugh
[16:00] <jjs999jjs> wow
[16:00] <jjs999jjs> zimmer frames all around the place
[16:00] <Mulreay> heh
[16:01] <Mulreay> Not quite there yet but I'm feeling the ache in my bones lol
[16:03] <Mulreay> Ohh my favourite film may come back if it recovers... knowing me I will get a load of stuff that I never even owned.. like Aunt mildrids cookery recepies.
[16:03] <Craig> Wow... cant wait for FFv4
[16:04] <Craig> I see the Alpha is in v 4 stage,
[16:04] <Mulreay> It comes out in March
[16:04] <Mulreay> Are we speaking of the same thing? I doubt it...
[16:04] <Craig> Firefox 3.6 comes out in March,
[16:05] <Craig> I am talking about Firefox 4.0! L:)
[16:05] <Mulreay> ahh was thinking of something else
[16:05] <Mulreay> FF means two things to me... Firefox as a back thought and Final Fantasy
[16:05] <Craig> heh
[16:06] <Mulreay> heh never mind
[16:08] <Mulreay> !g 2194.70s = m
[16:08] <Mulreay> Was a wild hope
[16:09] <Mulreay> !g 2194.70s = min
[16:09] <Mulreay> your useless
[16:09] <Craig> You want to convert to minutes?
[16:09] <Mulreay> where's my calculator
[16:09] <Mulreay> heh yeah
[16:09] <Craig> !g 2194.7 seconds to minutes
[16:09] <Mulreay> ahh plain english lol
[16:10] <Craig> !g 2194.7 s to m
[16:10] <Craig> hahaha,
[16:10] <Craig> yeah plain English, :P
[16:10] <Mulreay> heh
[16:11] <Mulreay> This recovery is painfully slow.. but damn does it have my attention
[16:11] <Craig> heh
[16:12] <Mulreay> I know what will happen... right at the end an error will come up and the whole thing will just shut down.. and no better off for it
[16:12] <Craig> Actaully recouva recovers on the fly, not all at once,
[16:13] <Mulreay> ahh ok... then I now worry why there is no folder...
[16:13] <Craig> It could be hidden, I am not sure how the latest version works,
[16:13] <Craig> it may find all the files first, then allow you to select the ones you want.
[16:14] <jjs999jjs> yes it does criag
[16:14] <jjs999jjs> you are correct
[16:14] <Mulreay> I could add this into my 'eternity' therom. Waiting for the inevitable
[16:14] <Mulreay> thx jjs999jjs
[16:15] <jjs999jjs> go to bed or multi task on another machine
[16:15] <Mulreay> I only have the one machine :) I'm a manc
[16:16] <Mulreay> May go shopping on ebay that always cheers me up... already been spending on there today
[16:16] <jjs999jjs> so steal another then your a manc
[16:16] <Mulreay> heh I'm not scouse
[16:17] <Mulreay> Tell me your not a scouse...
[16:17] <Craig> What is a scouse?
[16:17] <Mulreay> scouser
[16:17] <Mulreay> !g scouser
[16:18] <Mulreay> My dads a scouser... well ellesmere port
[16:18] <Craig> So its a dialect
[16:18] <Craig> (not the Dr. Who alien)
[16:18] <Mulreay> heh sorry
[16:19] <Mulreay> A (scouser) or scouse person: is a person from liverpool or mersyside
[16:19] <Craig> Ah,
[16:19] <Mulreay> As I'm from Manchester I'm a manc
[16:19] <Craig> :P hahahahaah
[16:20] <Mulreay> heh
[16:20] <Mulreay> Camerongray is from edinburgh so he's a scot: which makes sense
[16:21] <Mulreay> Calum is from Derby and well... there actually is no name that I know of for them
[16:21] <Craig> :P
[16:22] <jjs999jjs> i am a Scot
[16:22] <jjs999jjs> from Glasgow
[16:22] <Mulreay> Yeah I had a brain loss about your location jjs999jjs sorry about that
[16:23] <Mulreay> jjs999jjs is from Glasgow so basically we call them: hard as nails
[16:23] <jjs999jjs> simply a contradiction in terms brain and loss and you in the same sentence sir
[16:23] <Mulreay> lol
[16:26] <Mulreay> jjs999jjs any ideas why this recuva works ok on my internal and bsod's on my external drive?
[16:26] <jjs999jjs> yes
[16:26] <jjs999jjs> power surge
[16:26] <Craig> Because your external is encrypted on the bits its trying to access,
[16:26] <Mulreay> ok
[16:26] <Craig> so when it reads the bits nothign makes sense?
[16:26] <Craig> heh all hypothetical?
[16:26] <Craig> ...
[16:26] <Mulreay> got ya
[16:27] <Mulreay> To be fair I've made piece with the fact that I have lost all my stuff... so from here on in anything is either as it was or a bonus
[16:28] <Craig> ah
[16:28] <Craig> Took me a week to get there with my drives, :S
[16:29] <Mulreay> Heh I can recover pictures, loads are on facebook and on my dads laptop... that's all I'm bothered about.. films, videos... who cares
[16:30] <Mulreay> Don't get me wrong it's harsh.. but as you know I have come through much worse than this..
[16:30] <Mulreay> See the lighter side now

[18:07] <Mulreay> anyone still here?
[18:08] <Mulreay> Looking thin on the ground to be fair
[18:08] <@BC_Programming> I'm here again
[18:08] <@BC_Programming> fallout3 crashed finally
[18:08] <@BC_Programming> heh
[18:09] <Mulreay> heh coo, someone to talk to yeaj
[18:09] <Mulreay> yeah!
[18:09] <@BC_Programming> heh
[18:09] <Mulreay> Sorry little over enthusiastic
[18:09] <@BC_Programming> yeah just a little
[18:10] <Mulreay> I have two hours to wait for this 'recovery' and lets be fair it will just bring back a load of porn I tried my hardest to delete and all the stuff my Mum would be proud of is gone
[18:11] <@BC_Programming> lol
[18:11] <Mulreay> heh
[18:11] <Mulreay> Just want gmod... back
[18:11] <@BC_Programming> yeah I saw that in your recuva screenshot
[18:11] <@BC_Programming> was that on your external too?
[18:12] <Mulreay> heh it was all over the shop
[18:12] <Mulreay> Yeah I moved to my external to save space
[18:12] <Mulreay> irony
[18:12] <@BC_Programming> heh
[18:12] <@BC_Programming> that's damn near exactly what happened to me with my flash drive
[18:12] <@BC_Programming> moved stuff off the flash drive to try to prevent more accidents
[18:12] <@BC_Programming> bam, I repartition the drive I had it stored on
[18:13] <@BC_Programming> actually maybe it wasn't a repartition... that was after, a completely separate incident I think
[18:13] <Mulreay> Gonna buy a new drive and backup my external...
[18:13] <@BC_Programming> because I remember once I accidentally sent my CD-Burner's firmware to my third hard drive.
[18:13] <@BC_Programming> had a very interesting effect
[18:14] <Mulreay> how would that work?
[18:14] <@BC_Programming> did something to the geometry as the drive believed it to be... halved the total capacity somehow
[18:14] <@BC_Programming> I have no idea how it worked... but afterward the drive was only 2GB, as opposed to 4
[18:14] <@BC_Programming> oh and it was saying the old "needs to be formatted" bit
[18:14] <Mulreay> you have to wonder where that 2gb was..
[18:15] <@BC_Programming> I don't think I had anything super-important on it that drive though
[18:15] <@BC_Programming> well it's still on the drive... but completely inaccessible
[18:15] <@BC_Programming> because the software/firmware on the drive was somehow altered... no idea how it managed to do that without totally frying the whole thing, though
[18:15] <@BC_Programming> anyway that was the first and only time I have ever tried to flash anything
[18:16] <Mulreay> I actually think... between me and you... and well every one else on this channel... this is recovering more than I though...
[18:16] <@BC_Programming> at least without paranoid precautions
[18:16] <Mulreay> thought*
[18:16] <@BC_Programming> I thought you were just telling Craig that it BSODs?
[18:16] <@BC_Programming> or is that just with certain files/folders?
[18:16] <Mulreay> If I tried to recover...
[18:17] <Mulreay> 'deep recover'
[18:17] <@BC_Programming> ahhh
[18:17] <@BC_Programming> yeah it's probably because of the encryption stuff that had already been done
[18:17] <Mulreay> I made a stupid mistake though
[18:17] <Mulreay> I tried to recover to the same drive
[18:18] <@BC_Programming> yeah that's not very good
[18:18] <Mulreay> yeah I know now heh
[18:18] * Tux2 (Tux2@E33E54F6.8F502EB6.39CF04D1.IP) Quit (Ping timeout)
[18:19] <Mulreay> I'm almost sure that something will go wrong as it trys to finish
[18:19] <@BC_Programming> well cross your fingers I guess
[18:20] <Mulreay> Yeah well God has a sence of humour I don't get
[18:20] <@BC_Programming> dammit though fallout3 is like the best game I've ever played
[18:20] <@BC_Programming> It was annoying at first... but once you get the good weapons and start kicking everythings ass it's quite enjoyable
[18:20] <Mulreay> Damn BC I have lossed all my games... little decorum here please
[18:21] <@BC_Programming> it's funny though I don't eve ncare about my game saves
[18:21] <@BC_Programming> well, with very few exceptions
[18:21] <@BC_Programming> lose my SNES save states and saves on the PC? meh, doesn't really matter.
[18:21] <Mulreay> If I don't get these games and saves back your gonna feel soooo bad
[18:22] <Mulreay> actually no you wont
[18:22] <@BC_Programming> why would I feel bad?
[18:23] <Mulreay> <Mulreay> actually no you wont
[18:23] <@BC_Programming> I'll still be level 24 and blowing up enemies that are no threat to me for no good reason except their ugly
[18:23] <Mulreay> heh
[18:23] <@BC_Programming> I mean seriously, I could just leave the giant radscorpion alone
[18:23] <@BC_Programming> but it's a lot funner to employ my missile launcher
[18:24] <@BC_Programming> or my "Rock-It launcher" which I built myself from a vacuum cleaner and some other stuff
[18:24] <Mulreay> I bought a new game today but it's PS3 based.. so not in your PC world..
[18:24] <@BC_Programming> oh what would it be?
[18:24] <Mulreay> Bayonetta
[18:24] <@BC_Programming> sounds swordy
[18:25] <Mulreay> heh sounds anime japanessey
[18:25] <Mulreay> yeah it's all those things
[18:26] <Mulreay> It's good fun.. would be playing it but have to keep my eye on this pile of trash
[18:26] <@BC_Programming> a bayonette is like an old sword of some kind
[18:26] <@BC_Programming> so OBVIOUSLY a bayonetta is a female wielder of said sword.
[18:26] <Mulreay> Bayonette is a knife on the end of a rifle I think
[18:27] <@BC_Programming> oh yeah
[18:27] <@BC_Programming> well a female weilder of one of those
[18:27] <Mulreay> heh that will do
[18:27] <@BC_Programming> ahh yes the rifle stabbers, heh
[18:27] <Mulreay> heh
[18:28] <Mulreay> I wish this would hurry up and bsod
