[00:05]<Tux2> lol, I'm going to cheat and look at some sheet music...
[00:09]<Tux2> Okay, this is freaky, I hit the right key that the music was written in... I never do that...
[00:15]<@BC_Programming> aside from being able to use a conversion tool to change NES/SNES music directly into MIDI's and tweaking that, I haven't been able to make much... aside from the "Ode to the square wave" thing I made
[00:20]<Tux2> :)
[00:21]<@BC_Programming> still pretty cool to turn http://www.bc-programming.com/misc/topnes.mp3 into http://www.bc-programming.com/misc/topman.mp3 though
[00:23]<Tux2> lol, nice!
[00:24]<Tux2> One quirk about my laptop is that LMMS likes to keep the sound card all to itself, only really sharing with audacity...
[00:25]<@BC_Programming> FLStudio's quirk is that it will randomly corrupt my audio output until I reboot when I start it
[00:26]<Tux2> lol, well, frankly I just have to close lmms if I want to play something that is flash based or in the regular player... I think I do have a solution though...
[00:27]<@BC_Programming> I almost cheated to make a rendition of an MLP song, by taking the NSF file provided by CRTified technician and using a NSF2MIDI program I have to create a MIDI file, but it didn't work properly
[00:29]<@BC_Programming> actually, come to think of it, the MIDI itself is fine but FLStudio chokes on it, maybe I'll have better luck with LMMS...
[00:32]<Tux2> lol... always worth a shot.
[00:32]<@BC_Programming> indeed
[00:41]<@BC_Programming> hmm, same thing with LMMS
[00:41]<@BC_Programming> I think maybe the program outputs some weirdness in the MID file
[00:41]<@BC_Programming> it plays fine though, which is extremely frustrating :P
[00:42]<@BC_Programming> http://www.bc-programming.com/misc/chilmilp.mid
[00:52]<Tux2> lol, I imported it just fine...
[00:52]<@BC_Programming> it doesn't play properly though for me
[00:53]<@BC_Programming> it's just random piano jabbering
[00:53]<@BC_Programming> it looks like all the notes are imported but for some reason some of the tracks are silent
[00:57]<Tux2> Hmm.... well, I got it to play...
[00:57]<@BC_Programming> curse you
[00:57]<Tux2> You just have to assign an instrument to them....
[01:25]<Tux2> Ah, it has a pitch track, that's what's messing us up...
[01:26]<@BC_Programming> ok... is there a way to fix that?
[01:28]<Tux2> Um, re-encode the tracks that it affects?
[01:28]<Tux2> What is the original file?
[01:28]<@BC_Programming> the original file is an NSF
[01:28]<@BC_Programming> the MIDI is the output from a NSF2MIDI program... I can't really change much of that
[01:30]<Tux2> ah... well, I guess you could re-do the music in midi format by ear...
[01:31]<Tux2> But, that takes a lot of time...
[01:31]<@BC_Programming> well yeah, but that would sort of defeat the purpose
[01:31]<@BC_Programming> and did I mention that I suck at making music manually
[01:31]<Tux2> lol, yeah
[01:34]<Tux2> Oh, here's what I've gotten done so far of that... let me know what you think: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35110620/hnqn-temp.ogg
[01:35]<@BC_Programming> cool
[01:36]<Tux2> Yeah, the first part I did by ear...
[01:37]<Tux2> But, it's going to take a lot of work...
[01:37]<@BC_Programming> I cam imagine
[01:37]<@BC_Programming> can*
[01:41]<@BC_Programming> you've probably heard this one already but this is pretty much the only thing I made from scratch that isn't hilariously bad
[01:41]<@BC_Programming> http://www.bc-programming.com/misc/basec.ogg
[02:10]<Tux2> lol, interesting...
[02:11]<Tux2> Hey BC_Programming, here's another rough draft of the one I'm working on: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35110620/hnqn.ogg let me know what you think...
[02:13]<@BC_Programming> very good
[02:15]<Tux2> It took me forever to find a good way to end it....
[03:15]<Tux2> BC_Programming, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fMCMAlR7B4
[03:17]<@BC_Programming> nice
[03:23]<Tux2> Well, I'm going to go to bed, see you later...
[03:23]<@BC_Programming> ok
[03:23] * Tux2 (Tux2@mib-FD19654E.chyn.qwest.net) Quit (Quit: Leaving)

[04:04]<+Mulreay> I just got accosted by two Mormons
[04:05]<@BC_Programming> OMG... are you ok
[04:05]<@BC_Programming> they're like piranha
[04:06]<+Mulreay> I was a little shaken for a while
[04:06]<+Mulreay> There 'attack line' was 'Don't you want to spend eternity with your family'. I think the ukm'ing and ahh'ing put them off a little
[04:07]<+Mulreay> uhm*
[04:07]<@BC_Programming> haha
[04:07]<@BC_Programming> I would have said
[04:07]<@BC_Programming> "Eternity? I can barely stand a full day!"
[04:08]<+Mulreay> heh
[04:08]<@BC_Programming> and if that's heaven, I don't want to know what hell is
[04:08]<+Mulreay> lol
[04:08]<@BC_Programming> probably like being on a permanent vacation with a group of Germans
[04:09]<+Mulreay> The old adage 'Hell, is being locked in a room for eternity with your friends'... comes to mind
[04:09]<+Mulreay> heh
[04:09]<+Mulreay> I even brought (and I apologise' Craig into the discussion..
[04:11]<+Mulreay> Not in a bad way I'll have you know
[04:11]<+Mulreay> Just that I would prefer to talk to Craig if I'm in need of talking of such things
[04:11]<+Mulreay> Still wouldn't leave me alone
[04:12]<@BC_Programming> oh I made some MLP wallpapers, lol
[04:12]<+Mulreay> cool
[04:12]<@BC_Programming> http://bc-programming.com/images/other/mlp/wallpaper/rainbowdash.png
[04:12]<@BC_Programming> http://bc-programming.com/images/other/mlp/wallpaper/main6cmc.png
[04:12]<@BC_Programming> I installed photoshop and was making another one but the bloody thing was eating all my RAM
[04:12]<+Mulreay> They look awesome
[04:13]<@BC_Programming> oh and of course the new baseblock splash screen
[04:13]<@BC_Programming> http://bc-programming.com/images/other/splash4_y.png
[04:13]<+Mulreay> Ha ha trippy
[04:13]<@BC_Programming> yeah the baseblock splashes seem to have a theme of twirly backgrounds
[04:14]<+Mulreay> Seems your getting to grips with PS
[04:14]<@BC_Programming> actually those are made in Corel Photo Pro, but I guess since I was complaining about that before that is what you mean
[04:14]<+Mulreay> yeah
[04:14]<+Mulreay> I got paid today
[04:14]<@BC_Programming> congrats
[04:14]<+Mulreay> I spent all my money on bills today
[04:15]<@BC_Programming> no Bobs?
[04:15]<+Mulreay> bobs?
[04:15]<@BC_Programming> Bill, Bob
[04:15]<+Mulreay> ahh, little slow on the uptake there
[04:16]<+Mulreay> Still early here
[04:16]<@BC_Programming> it's 3AM for me..
[04:16]<@BC_Programming> heh
[04:16]<+Mulreay> Never normally out of bed before Lunch time
[04:16]<+Mulreay> 11:16 here
[04:17]<@BC_Programming> yeah as you might have noticed I did manage to find a font that approximates the one I needed
[04:17]<+Mulreay> Yeah it's close
[04:17]<@BC_Programming> that was the catalyst that caused me to decide to create some wallpapers
[04:18]<+Mulreay> heh
[04:18]<+Mulreay> I had a virus yesterday which was nice
[04:18]<@BC_Programming> sux
[04:18]<+Mulreay> I'm fairly sure it was from the 80's though
[04:18]<+Mulreay> It was quite funny actually
[04:19]<@BC_Programming> coincidental to your mention of Photoshop, against my better judgement I installed CS 5.1
[04:20]<@BC_Programming> may come in useful though
[04:21]<+Mulreay> Basically I had a program about 15mb and I ran it, then I kinda just got on with what I was doing and noticed that the HDD was going nuts... it went on for about 5mins then I looked at the C: drive and this 15mb program had already eaten 11gb of space and was speeding up, so I closed the program and just hunted for this rediculous file that was by the time I found it 13gb... in a 15mb DOS
[04:21]<+Mulreay> game.. awesome
[04:22]<@BC_Programming> was probably just buggy
[04:22]<+Mulreay> Yeah like I say seemed shite for a virus
[04:22]<@BC_Programming> still funny though
[04:22]<@BC_Programming> yeah would be funny to have a conversation with a person creating that type of virus
[04:22]<+Mulreay> It would have continued and taken all the HDD space if I had not stopped it
[04:22]<@BC_Programming> "First, I will create a LOT OF FILES! MWA HAHA"
[04:22]<@BC_Programming> "ok... then what?"
[04:22]<@BC_Programming> "what do you mean?"
[04:23]<+Mulreay> lol
[04:23]<@BC_Programming> "well, when you use up a bunch of space, than what?"
[04:23]<@BC_Programming> "you appear to have discovered a flaw in my plan"
[04:23]<+Mulreay> lol
[04:23]<+Mulreay> It was quite lame
[04:23]<+Mulreay> But I must admit for about 30secs I was kinda like WTF
[04:24]<@BC_Programming> well there were boot viruses back in the day that did nothing but propogate themselves, and didn't actually harm anything
[04:25]<+Mulreay> You mean like replication?
[04:25]<@BC_Programming> yeah
[04:25]<+Mulreay> Yeah, I think this was one
[04:25]<+Mulreay> If you had no idea about computers though I guess it would cause an issue for you
[04:25]<@BC_Programming> you boot up a floppy or run a program on a infected floppy and it would plop itself on the HD boot sector, than it would start every boot, and write itself to every floppy accessed to start from that floppy then you'd give that floppy to others, etc
[04:26]<+Mulreay> yeah
[04:26]<+Mulreay> It ate my space at quite a fantastic rate though
[04:26]<+Mulreay> 5mins and it took 13gb
[04:28]<+Mulreay> Got a few nice Stargate screensavers yesterday if you would like a look?
[04:29]<@BC_Programming> sure may be worth a gander
[04:29]<@BC_Programming> I don't generally use screensavers oddly enough
[04:29]<@BC_Programming> and no I was not offering you a goose
[04:29]<+Mulreay> A couple you will have to add straight to your win64 folder
[04:30]<@BC_Programming> syswow64?
[04:30]<+Mulreay> Is that what it is
[04:30]<+Mulreay> win32 here
[04:31]<+Mulreay> sending
[04:31]<@BC_Programming> receiving
[04:31]<+Mulreay> heh
[04:32]<+Mulreay> I use the 'Atlantis spinning emblem'
[04:32]<+Mulreay> That the Atlantis team have on there screensavers
[04:33]<+Mulreay> Technically it's the 'pegasus' emblem
[04:34]<+Mulreay> Oh and I cleared my film/video schedule to watch a MLP marathon in bed tonight with nibbles and soda
[04:34]<@BC_Programming> I was trying to resist turning 'pegasus' into a MLP reference there
[04:34]<+Mulreay> lol
[04:35]<@BC_Programming> the only episode I don't like of them is Feeling Pinkie Keen
[04:35]<@BC_Programming> for ideological reasons
[04:35]<@BC_Programming> the Aesop isn't just stupid, it's also wrong... you'll see
[04:35]<+Mulreay> Without seeing I have obviously no frame of reference, so I will take your word on it
[04:36]<+Mulreay> Ta da
[04:36]<+Mulreay> Now it will be corrupt or some other stuff
[04:37]<@BC_Programming> haha
[04:37]<@BC_Programming> Once you see it though you'll know exactly what I meant
[04:37]<@BC_Programming> perhaps even have the urge to punch a nearby mormon
[04:38]<+Mulreay> lol
[04:39]<+Mulreay> I'm thinking you will appreciate the pegasus one like me
[04:41]<+Mulreay> Oh just ignore the virus it's fine :p
[04:41]<@BC_Programming> haha
[04:45]<@BC_Programming> you have piqued my curiousity, doing searches for some sort of 3d screensaver
[04:45]<+Mulreay> ooo is it not in there?
[04:46]<@BC_Programming> there is no 3d screensaver
[04:46]<+Mulreay> damn
[04:46]<+Mulreay> one sec
[04:46]<@BC_Programming> there is one that is like a repeating 5 second clip of the city at night
[04:47]<@BC_Programming> unrelated
[04:47]<@BC_Programming> http://bc-programming.com/images/other/mlp/stayawayfrommysponges.png
[04:56]<+Mulreay> lol
[04:56]<+Mulreay> awesome
[04:56]<+Mulreay> I'm re-sending the whole package to you
[04:57]<+Mulreay> Should have them all in, seems I didn't copy and paste but cut and paste
[04:58]<+Mulreay> Couldn't find the screensave I wanted in sys32 so feck it re get and do it this way
[05:00]<@BC_Programming> "Look, I'm not much good at big speeches, and I know I haven't always been an easy guy to get on with, and I know, that given the choice, I wouldn't have chosen you as friends, but I just want to say, that over the years, I have come to regard you as people I met."
[05:04]<+Mulreay> lol
[05:04]<+Mulreay> One of his best speaches
[05:04]<+Mulreay> Speeches*
[05:06]<+Mulreay> lol that's one of those things that the more you re-hear/read the funnier it gets
[05:06]<@BC_Programming> yeah
[05:07]<+Mulreay> Can't wait for the new series... I just hope they go back to basics and don't fook it up
[05:07]<@BC_Programming> oh yeah
[05:07]<@BC_Programming> almost forgot about that
[05:07]<@BC_Programming> what with MLP and Minecraft and.. well actually that's it, I guess I have a very small memory
[05:07]<+Mulreay> Filming in November will be out in early 2012
[05:07]<+Mulreay> lol
[05:07]<+Mulreay> Small yet eidetic in my book
[05:08]<@BC_Programming> haha... somebody on the MC forums asked "how many of you along the Eastern coast are prepared for Irene"
[05:08]<@BC_Programming> and I said
[05:08]<@BC_Programming> Hey, that's not nice... My Aunt's figure may be quite stately but there is no reason to warn the entire Eastern Coast when she goes on vacation.
[05:08]<+Mulreay> Not saying you have a small brain or anything
[05:08]<@BC_Programming> possums have small brains
[05:08]<+Mulreay> lol at your Irene comment
[05:13]<+Mulreay> Google route planner is wank
[05:13]<+Mulreay> We could not calculate directions between Baguley, Manchester, UK and Nanaimo, BC, Canada.
[05:14]<@BC_Programming> my gawd
[05:14]<@BC_Programming> perhaps we don't exist
[05:14]<+Mulreay> lol
[05:15]<+Mulreay> Can't even get Craig
[05:15]<+Mulreay> We could not calculate directions between Baguley, Manchester, UK and Red Deer, AB, Canada.
[05:15]<+Mulreay> I'm starting to think the ocean is the main problem... I could be wrong
[05:16]<@BC_Programming> bloody ocean
[05:16]<@BC_Programming> with it's water
[05:16]<@BC_Programming> and saltyness
[05:17]<+Mulreay> and depth and stuff
[05:17]<@BC_Programming> and it's delicious animals
[05:17]<+Mulreay> heh
[05:17]<@BC_Programming> but as they say
[05:17]<@BC_Programming> the shortest way between two points is always under construction
[05:18]<+Mulreay> We don't say that
[05:18]<+Mulreay> We say the shortest way is NOT by taxi
[05:18]<@BC_Programming> you know what I hate
[05:18]<@BC_Programming> general stores
[05:19]<@BC_Programming> they never let you by anything specific
[05:19]<+Mulreay> lol
[05:19]<@BC_Programming> I get strange looks if I go to a store that has signs saying "pet supplies"
[05:20]<@BC_Programming> because I think they are instructions
[05:20]<+Mulreay> heh
[05:20]<+Mulreay> I have a joke, may take a few 'paragraphs' to do it
[05:21]<+Mulreay> This is a very British joke
[05:21]<@BC_Programming> ok
[05:24]<+Mulreay> Englishman, Scotsman and an Irishman are lost in the desert, there out of water and dieing.. the Englishman turns to the other two and says 'I'm done, I can't go on but please I ask one favour, when I die please place stones over my eyes so the birds don't get them'. The others agree and the English man dies, they place pebbles on is eyes and carry on.
[05:25]<+Mulreay> The Scottish guy is the next to sucumb to the heat and asks the Irishman, 'when I die I want you to place stones over my eyes like our buddy'. He dies and the irishman puts pebbles over his eyes and carries on.
[05:27]<+Mulreay> The Irish man is near death and staggering over a dune when he realises he's about to drop. He thinks, there is nobody to cover my eyes, so he decides to dig a whole and stick his head in and cover it up.
[05:29]<+Mulreay> An arab happens to travel past on his camel and see's this guy with his ars in the air and thinks 'awesome' goes over, pulls his pants down and starts fecking the Irishman... The Arab hears a muffled voice from the sand shouting.. 'You can keep pecking but you won't get my eyes ya bastards'.
[05:29]<@BC_Programming> lol
[05:29]<+Mulreay> heh
[05:30]<+Mulreay> Hard to tell on irc
[05:31]<+Mulreay> We have a lot of 'English, Scottish and Irish' jokes
[05:31]<+Mulreay> The Irish are always made to be stupid
[05:31]<@BC_Programming> There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot.
[05:31]<+Mulreay> Deep
[05:32]<+Mulreay> Did you get the screensaver?
[05:33]<@BC_Programming> the rar has a pwd
[05:33]<+Mulreay> oh, it's rodney
[05:33]<+Mulreay> forgot about that sorry
[05:36]<+Mulreay> I never set the pass it was from the original poster, he just wanted it to stop random sharing... not sure how that works
[05:39]<@BC_Programming> 1.8 will be out in a few weeks
[05:41]<@BC_Programming> oh you know what's fun, when you have to fill out a form
[05:41]<@BC_Programming> and it has something like "In case of emergency contact" or "emergency contact"
[05:42]<@BC_Programming> I always put "Doctor"
[05:55]<+Mulreay> heh
[05:57]<+Mulreay> I don't really play MC anymore

[11:36]<+Mulreay> The video with the dog... I may have mentioned it before
[11:39]<+Mulreay> Taking Pain killers that are making me a little vunderbar
[11:40]<+Mulreay> W*
[11:44]<@BC_Programming> haha... I was thinking I would try to put an old version of Linux on my ancient toshiba laptop
[11:45]<@BC_Programming> problem of course, it doesn't boot from it's CD-ROM drive, which only half-works and can't read burned CDs except when the moon is full and a sacrifice a goat
[11:45]<@BC_Programming> so I thought "I know, I'm sure it's floppy drive would me cheap online or ebay"
[11:45]<@BC_Programming> 80 freaking dollars
[11:46]<@BC_Programming> I can get a new battery for it for 20 dollars though
[11:47]<@BC_Programming> or a new CD-ROM, which would actually be useful given mine is crapping out
[11:48]<+camerongray> lol
[11:48]<+camerongray> It's funny because I just thought - This touchpad cost less than some digital photo frames
[11:49]<@BC_Programming> yeah... I could almost get one of those for the same price as a 16~ year old laptop floppy drive
[11:49]<@BC_Programming> 80 flipping dollars! WTF
[11:49]<@BC_Programming> and why is the CD-ROM drive only 13 bucks
[11:49]<@BC_Programming> it's NAUGHT FAIR
[11:50]<@BC_Programming> haha people are still selling the touchpads on ebay for near their original price...
[11:51]<+camerongray> Yeh - people are buying loads and selling them for a profit
[11:51]<@BC_Programming> pretty big profits, if you ask me
[11:51]<@BC_Programming> like 100$ a pop at least it looks like
[11:51]<+camerongray> yeh
[11:57]<@BC_Programming> hmm, bored, may rip apart my 755CDV a bit more, see if I can get it working better
[11:57]<@BC_Programming> better meaning "at all" of course
[11:57]<+camerongray> lol
[11:57]<@BC_Programming> last time I tried it it actually booted to a DOS 6 floppy I managed to create
[11:58]<@BC_Programming> than it locked up and stopped working again
[11:58]<@BC_Programming> did I mention I have two of those laptops that are identical? yeah that's kind of important
[12:00]<+camerongray> yeh
[12:34]<+camerongray> Woo - Made 11p from my Youtube videos!
[12:34]<+camerongray> In 2 days
[12:34]<+camerongray> Well, more like one since I set it up last night
[12:42]<@BC_Programming> cool
[12:42]<@BC_Programming> I gave up, I downloaded the technical manual for the laptop, and tried to remove the systemboard
[12:43]<@BC_Programming> I gave up after about a half-hour of trying to remove the keyboard
[12:58]<+camerongray> lol
[13:16]<+camerongray> My unboxing of the touchpad is so long!
[13:17]<@BC_Programming> oooh you made a video! cool :D
[13:22]<+camerongray> lol
[13:22]<+camerongray> Still have the keyboard one to do too
[13:23]<+camerongray> But then I won't have any money to do any more for a while :P
[13:23]<@BC_Programming> cool
[13:34]<+camerongray> 650mb file :(
[13:46]<@BC_Programming> hey do you guys have a unshorten.it logo that has alpha?
[13:49]<@BC_Programming> or at least do you know what font you used, want to add a link to my links page
[13:57]<@BC_Programming> never mind, I made one myself. That is just how awesome I am I guess
[13:57]<@BC_Programming> don't know if you guys happen to have one or not but here is your unshorten.it logo using Alpha rather than a white background: http://bc-programming.com/images/
[13:57]<@BC_Programming> oops
[13:58]<@BC_Programming> http://bc-programming.com/images/unshortenitlogo.png
[14:14]<+camerongray> Ahh - looks cool
[14:14]<+camerongray> Don't have an alpha one :(
[14:14]<+camerongray> I can't remember the font :P
[14:14]<@BC_Programming> well you do now I guess
[14:14]<+camerongray> Thanks :D
[14:15]<@BC_Programming> didn't need the font, I cheated, took the original image, inverted it, and used it as a mask on another image filled with a texture that approximates the "scratchy" look
[14:16]<+camerongray> Sweet
[14:17]<@BC_Programming> it was weird since I already had a image open that was close, the new background black for the header of my main page, just histogram stretched that and used it as a rotated texture and the resemblance was uncanny
[14:19]<+camerongray> lol - Just noticed that in the touchpad video I have spots of paint allover my hands :P
[14:19]<@BC_Programming> oh well
[14:19]<@BC_Programming> not watched it yet, still going through some older vwestlife videos, :P
[14:20]<+camerongray> Was funny - Needed to paint the common room at school so we basically ended up with too many people in too small a room trying to paint - Wasn't fun
[14:20]<+camerongray> Well, was quite fun
[14:22]<+camerongray> Although I wasn't particulary enjoying balancing up a ladder with stacks of tables behind me
[14:58]<@BC_Programming> uploading the video of my "custom CD player"
[14:59]<@BC_Programming> which was basically just an old CD-ROM drive that happens to have controls on the front
[15:02]<+camerongray> lol
